  1. Hi, I'm hitting a brick wall with this. Using the Boat Switch I can change the laser code in the AGM-65L just fine the first time I try to do it in a mission. However, if I fly any mission after that I am unable to use Boat Switch Aft to start changing the laser code numbers. I can move between each number with Boat Fwd, and Boat Aft still works, for example, to change IR modes on the TGP. For me to be able to fix this I have to restart DCS, but then I'm just back at the start. This happens weather I'm using my X-56 or trying the keyboard shortcuts. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks.
  2. Hello. I've had the HB F-14B for a while and now that I've got a fair bit of free time on my hands I've started working my way into it. One thing I've come across, which is more of a personal issue I guess, is that the noise/s played when the canopy opens and closes has a high pitched squeaking or metal-on-metal grind that, due to hearing damage from previous service (11 years airborne), actually hurts and really turns up the dial on my tinnitus. For now, I've found that substituting in the stock F-16 canopy sounds to be a nice fit (and the timing is pretty spot on), but is there any sound samples/mods out there with other authentic Tomcat canopy sounds, or did the canopy always make this kind of noise during operation? Thanks.
  3. Thanks Askerov24, but I haven't been able to find it. I've been using different colours the whole way and have managed to find everything else, and I've had a solid look through the aircraft but I haven't found it. I guess, worst case, I can just leave it as it is (bright yellow) and see if I see it pop up during flight at some point.
  4. Hello, I'm having some trouble determining where/what "Layer 23" is on the "J" texture file for the A-10C and I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the model viewer. I'm just using the template to highlight the layer (and is also the currently selected layer): Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
  5. Thanks joey45 and Strut. If it wasn't for the guides and helpful answers I've found here and elsewhere I wouldn't have gotten far at all, they've been worth their virtual weight in gold! I've used the colouring method to identify parts in the past and it's a good one for sure. But I'll have to work at creating my own cam patterns like you mentioned Strut. Trial, error and plenty of patience it is then!!
  6. Good evening. I'm incredibly new to texturing, having done almost zero of it ever before except for some DCS A-10C learning adventures (and I tried once in ArmA a loooong time ago and gave up quickly), but I offered to make a new texture for a mate and his F/A-18C today and what was initially a bit of a joke, turned into this: This is just a collage of war-time newspaper clippings with a few personalisations added, and I used it as a way to gauge how difficult the Hornet would be. When I was learning on the A-10C I realised that the camouflage pattern I was using wasn't going to line up neatly between sections/texture files. Example: I've got a video series to watch my through, but is anyone willing to share any methods they use to get around this accurately? I've so far come up empty handed but it would be nice to be able to do a proper cam livery for the Hornet, or anything else I decide to have a go at. I'm happy with what I made for myself on the A-10C (different to the above pic) so I'll leave it at that and work on the Hornet for a while I think. Thanks.
  7. Hi guys. I've only just started having a crack at re-texturing, and having never done it before (in anything) I seem to be managing fairly well with the guides that are out there. My problem is that I'd like to edit/move the formation lights that run down the vertical stabilisers. So far, I've only been editing the exterior of the aircraft and it took me a little while to realise that the formation lights are not part of that (at least, I don't think they are.....). I may be looking for the wrong things but I haven't found anything to help me yet. So where do I need to be looking to make changes to them? I'm not even sure what changes I'd make, but I'd like to mess around with them a bit and see if I can come up with something that doesn't look too ridiculous. Cheers.
