  1. Not right now. I’ve only got A10C. Thanks anyway. I found if I use the localiser I can get it. I don’t know what I will do without that though. Thanks again
  2. Ok, thanks for that. I think I’ve got it now, haha I’m having lots of difficulty with this crosswind landing in the track I posted earlier. If somebody can take a look at it and tell me how they do it would be great. What I’m finding is that I get the bearing pointer, course arrow and the CDI all lined up with the runway, but then I cant hold it all in line, they all go all over the place and the I keep over correcting and its all down hill from there. I have managed to land a few times but there’s no control really.
  3. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Arvp4tNziYQ0gRmRhTzLOMGuO7FY Not sure if this works but here is the track for the landing Im attempting. I cant keep aligned with the runway
  4. Another one with rudder into the wind to "align the heading with the runway" at 4:39 Pretty much everybody says the same thing. Large aircraft use this technique because they cant use the wing low method as the wing can hit the runway.
  5. Ok thanks for clearing that up. Skip to 5:03 All the crosswind tutorials say the same thing, rudder into wind
  6. No, the rudder isnt keeping the nose aligned with the runway. Its keeping the aircraft on a heading towards the runway, but the aircraft is askewed, crabbing. Applying rudder into the wind helps to stop the aircraft from being blown off course.
  7. Hi all, I want to practice ILS landings with A10C but I cant figure out how to use the map editor. Its like where do I start. All I want to do is lower the cloud level and have full cloud cover. I dont want to mess with any other settings. Hopefully for asking for only this somebody can explain it to me, and it shouldn't be too difficult. Could you also explain how to actually load the mission once clouds are set as well because I also have no idea how to do this. Thanks very much
  8. I dont think this is quite right. All the cross wind landing tutorials I have seen they say to rudder into the wind on approach to keep the aircraft aligned with the runway. Then just before flare you perform a slip to align the nose back into line with runway. So then this goes back to my question how do you perform a crab with ILS approach.
  9. It doesn't look like you can fly the A10C in this Combined Arms game, or am I wrong, that was my original question, to be able to shoot down your mates. I still think it would be much better to have the ability to control ground units in A10C, imagine how cool it would be in multiplayer if you could shoot down your friend or foe who is flying the A10C. Please make this happen Eagle Dynamics!
  10. Ok this is finally answers my question! "just before flare" from the videos I saw they were crabbing a very long way out from touch down?
  11. Oh right, thanks I didn't know that. Im not sure if this is what is happening though. What I done instead was made a mark point on the ground and then made that a SPI. It works but I still don't know why this happened.
  12. Do you mean China hat fwd long? If so I think this is what I done. But I don't understand why this caused the problem. Thank you btw
  13. Hi all, Im doing the weapons training mission in A10C. At first I couldn't understand why the SPI was in mid air at WP2 but then in another thread somebody explained that the SPI was the elevation of the steer point. OK thats fine, a pain but fine. So then when I got to WP3 soft targets, the SPI was on the ground, great!. But then when I flew over the target area the SPI changed with the new steer point 4. Now heres the thing. When I changed the steer point back to 3 to bring the SPI back it was in the air, at elevation not on the ground! Please explain why, and how can I stop this. Thanks
  14. Its all about asking the right question... So how then do you know how much rudder to give for a crosswind landing when you cant see the runway. example IFR, ILS approach.
  15. But on approach to a runway with cross wind I can keep the TVV on the runway using the ailerons and no rudder input.
  16. Is there a way to know the elevation of the SPI before we get to the SPI. So we can check if its at ground level or in the air. Thanks again
  17. Thanks for this it is helpful. However I am having the same issue and although this could work is there another way. I read further up the thread that you can change the elevation of the waypoint, but I dont really want to do this either. Here's my problem. My target is at the stpt, the stpt is spi, so I slave all sensors to the spi but the tgp is looking at the steer point elevation up in space, not on the ground. Is there a simple way to change the spi to ground level at this point. Or the only way is already stated here. Thank you for the answers already given here.
  18. So could you then say that the aircraft is slipping due to the wind and the pitch ladder in the HUD being offset is an indication of this. Therefore keeping the ball centered is stopping the slip. So keeping the ball centered will give you the correct amount of crab angle. I might be wrong, but Im just trying to work out a formula.
