  1. I admit, this is why I like clickable cockpits, I reach over and click the switch or button with my mouse. I save HOTAS issues for the HOTAS, and others that are not as subject ti immediacy to my mouse and cockpit switches. While they offer hundreds of bindings, I do my best to keep them to a minimum.
  2. Referring to your "crap memory", I generally use Google sheets to list my controls for my HOTAS (I have the Winwing F-16ex stick and Orion 2 Throttle with F-15e grips) I fly about 8 modules and I have your crap memory also. I also printed out the control diagrams to identify the different numbers for the switches and buttons, that way, I can have a print out of the Controls and diagrams in front of my keyboard (I fly 2D) if your VR, I can't help you there. Since I fly many aircraft, I do my best to make most normal controls the same for each and then it's cheat sheet time for the unique controls for the aircraft. Hope that helps a little. ;)
  3. Good job gentlemen! You nailed it, it was my switch I use to lower the launch bar, I must have inadvertently bumped it and put it in the down position. Thank you for the help! I knew it was something basic, because it would show up and immediately go out, so I knew there was something triggering that, but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me!
  4. Yes, I deleted my bindings and re-did them but din;t work. i also removed my mods folder to insure there weren't any shenanigans going on there.
  5. So far, I deleted my bindings and redid them with no success, I then uninstalled the F-18c and then re-installed still with no success. I loaded an instant action - Ready on the ramp. When the mission loads in, for a brief instant I see the NWS it then goes out. I disconnected the joystick and used the keyboard and I get the same action - the NWS indicator is gone and when I press the S key it comes on as long as I hold the key. I have no way to turn on the High Gain. In the video I hold down the s key twice to show you what's happening. This is while the wings are down and locked. As I have mentioned, I have been using these key bindings for years, and in the middle of flying a mission, it suddenly doesn't work anymore. The binds show up in the controls and lighting up when pressed. I unplugged the joystick and used the keyboard with the same results. NWS failure_01.mp4
  6. This is on an airfield and no.
  7. Yeah, I get that, it has been working for years, and now it doesn't, that's why I asked the question of there has been any changes or if it were a new bug with the last update. Normally the NWS appears in the HUD, but now it's not. When I press my normal High Gain button the NWS comes on only while I hold the button. There is no way to get the High gain at all. Since I posted this, I deleted my controls config and re-did the bindings, but I got the same results.
  8. I have had the F-18c since it came out and I've always had NWS showing up in the HUD. Now, I get no nose wheel steering until I hit a button (my normal high Gain button, and I have no High Gain. This happened on single player in a favorite training mission and it stopped working normally, I thought at first the mission file was corrupted but I created a test mission and it did the same. I have the X-56 throttle and a Winwing F-16ex stick and the 2.9 update. I use the 6 button on the stick to normally access the High Gain feature, but now, it simply removes the High Gain off the HUD and I have no High Gain after. Is this a new feature or a bug?
  9. Thank you , the map popped up immediately after I hit the chart type and scale!
  10. Thanks for all the tips. I will go back and try again! There wasn't anything specific about doing anything, the map just showed up (in the tutorials, lol) I did wait for total alignment while I was searching for this and that. I'll check the zoom in and scale.
  11. I wanted to set up a simple mission in Syria to learn how to fly the Apache and when I did and started it up I couldn't figure out how to get the map to appear. I looked at the quick start guide and it didn't reference anything about the map and i noticed there was no map in some of the images. It doesn't seem right if you can't have a map how are you going to put your waypoints ad targets etc.
  12. Not sure where, or if was listed, but the save option needs to be increased by about a factor of 5 along with the delete option. Also, the ability to save templates from one map to another should be a no- brainer. If we have it, I can't find it. I think there might be an auto save function, but unsure how it actually works.
  13. Cancel that, I went out of DCS, came back in and tried another mission and it seems to work, not sure if the mission I used is corrupted or what, but it does work, sorry about that.
  14. I tried to set up my flare and Chaff programs in the F-16c and the highlighted item takes input but when pressing enter, returns to the default setting. I tried it many times thinking it was me, but it does not accept input.
  15. Actually you might have put this in the wrong topic, this is for the F-16c
  16. As a retired IT tech, I do not believe in overclocking for the most part, it's like running your car at redline all the time, it does work, but the results take a toll and eventually your engine breaks because of the extra stress you put on it. If you need more, then get a bigger, faster CPU.
  17. Everyone needs to create a Windows repair disk using a Bootable USB, it's free on Microsoft website. What it just might be is a corrupted MBR, or other file needed to boot into Windows. The actual installation might be good. there is an option where (at the last resort) you can re-install Windows and keep your files intact, at the prompt is will ask you if you want todo a clean install of Windows or repair, say no and click it should open into a new window that asks your if you want to save your files, click yes, it does a clean install while saving all our apps. It's like Windows repair, except Windows repair fails 90% of the time. I don't recall the windows and options you need to click on to get there at the moment, but do a search concerning windows fails to boot after an update, and it should get you where you need to be. Hope that helps, if you got it taken care of that's good, but this might help avoid a very painful situation, especially if you haven't backed up your files in a while.
  18. When any product comes out of "Early Release", what is it called? My biggest concern is ED will focus on more new releases instead of actually finishing what they already have, and I believe that is what is bothering most people. When people say I don't want to buy anything in "Early Release" they will then think they are getting a finished product and in fact, they won't be. Then, for some unknown reason, Steam comes into the conversation, WTF? It doesn't even match what ED has said in the past and they are clearly not following. Now, we are getting newer "versions" of a somehow "finished" products like Warthog 2, that is what? We have updates, improvements as a maintenance update to a supposedly finished product, and they add a weapon system and here we go a "new" product. I don't think people are really concerned about the "Early Release model" that ED does, it's all about what comes after. Now apparently we have some kind of vote as to what is a priority in a product that no longer IS a priority. I said before, there is no joy in Mudville and I meant it. ED has to state clearly and effectively what their new product will be, what features it will have and what will be considered finished and a reasonable timeline. I am hoping their software engineers are learning and gaining experience with each release that will enable them to move quicker in the future and remove the fog from the so called "transparency".
  19. They need to clarify the mumbo jumbo as they don't specify how to apply the points, and there is no place to apply those Bonus points, there is a coupon box they specifically state not bonus points and on the payment page, there is no place to add the bonus points.
  20. Not sure how this all works as I'm not a coder, but how do these modules work, My idea of a module is it just plugs in to the core gaming system and gets calls and sends out requests for data. But, I see every release breaks something somewhere and sometimes it has nothing to do with the system in question. So, I am curious. Doesn't have anything to do with EA, or OB or stable, just how does this all work together? I think an explanation in general terms would enlighten people and hopefully their intelligence will kick in.
  21. !'m having the same issue. The box in the Kart says enter coupon code for discount not Bonus. All those legalese terminology doesn't tell you how to apply them to any purchase. If they are no good, they should tell you. Where do they provide the release date? they say the news, where is that? Why can't they state it right in the e-shop? The P-51D has been out for years.
  22. I have some bonus points left in my account. They expire on June 1st, I want to buy a P-51 while it's on sale, how do I do that, they show only mileage, how can I apply my bonus points?
  23. I am beat down, I know it doesn't matter what I say, they will do what they please. I can understand delays in the pandemic, I respect that, but to remain vague in what is EA, out of EA and maintenance updates is a failure of the profound. They are setting up a moving target as an excuse, and I just ain't buying it. They need to focus on the vital parts, flight model, with basic weapons and steadily move out from there. They claimed they would work on both Hornet and Viper with no delays, they now say things that were never mentioned before, so the bottom line here is we are at their mercy. They talk about how much they've grown, which to me means they are bringing in more money, which I see could be put to work finishing out their product line while tackling new projects. It's like a retail store with not enough employees, they expect their customers to put up with it because "that's just the way it is". That's not the way it should be. With all the success ED has going, there is no joy in Mudville.
  24. Also, a common issue for newbies is, those engines need a little patience in allowing them to spool up. This means staying ahead of the engines, using the throttle actively constantly moving them and adjusting as they try to catch up to what you really want them to do. it takes a little practice, but once you've got it, it becomes second nature.
  25. The speed brake automatically closes, but it is not disabled, you can still apply the brakes, you might have to keep your button pressed till touchdown, they will then stay open.
