  1. I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling many of the same things about the AH-64D. I honestly can't speak to the level of accuracy of the FM and in no way am I saying it's wrong, but there is something about the AH-64D. I own all the Helicopter modules and run a Warthog with an extension on it. Every helicopter in the game is unique and has its own "personality", and I find I enjoy flying them all..... except the AH-64D. I love the screens and the situational awareness you get in it (the Mi-24P's RWR is basically useless in multiplayer). Plus other than the SA342m it is the only truly night-capable heli currently. But then I fly it, and none of that matters because it just flies "ugly" for lack of a better way to put it, I can be more specific but I don't believe that's necessary. I too have watched all the videos but find myself back in the same place with a wobbly helicopter, that I'm fighting to hold position to bob-up and shoot or any other delicate maneuvering. I've watched other people fly the AH-64D in multiplayer and I don't seem to notice the same issue so it is likely some part or all of the problem is me, but it is interesting I'm not the only feeling this way.
  2. Ok, I thought I noticed the same thing last night on a 4YA server but in my case, it was like it worked some of the time so I figured that I may be setting something incorrectly since I'm fairly new to the KA-50-3. I'll have to try the config delete as well.
  3. Quick question, is there a condition in which the castering nose wheel would lock? Twice today after a long taxi making the right turn onto the runaway no matter what I tried the plane wouldn’t turn and the nose wheel didn’t deflect (I had the control indicator up), I even came to a full stop and tried to initiate the turn again. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the A-4 (it’s a fantastic little jet), more likely just something I’m missing or maybe a conflict with a different mod. Thanks for any input.
  4. I've had a similar issue with the Limas, (no track file, I was in multiplayer). On a 4ya server from a hover I had 6 misses and 2 hits with the Lima, I don't honestly know if it is the missile or user error. One thing I did notice, all my misses were shots at lower altitudes 35-ish feet AGL, and the hits were from 150 - 200 feet AGL.
  5. The DC-9/MD-83 look great! Nice to see these planes coming to the game. Now that you've started on the ERJ-145 have you considered doing the Embraer R-99? It would be great to have a smaller modern AEW&C plane. Keep up the great work!
  6. I’ve got a similar issue going on, the missile lofts at a 90 degree angle and ends up behind the plane. I have my details and track file here
  7. I checked a bit more today, I swapped the F-14B for the F-14A and re-flew the mission. The results where exactly the same, I was also able to look at the F10 map and my suspicion was correct the climb is so steep the missile ends up behind the plane. This time I fired the second shot with the ACM cover up, the missile did not loft which is believe to be correct.
  8. I’ve seen something similar, playing online on a 4YA lobby I launched 2 Aim-54C MK60 at 15,000 on a hot Su-33 at 7,000 with a range of 30 miles. Those missiles did not loft but by the time they where 8 miles ahead of me they had slowed to under 650 knots, and I ended up making the kill with an Aim-7p. So I set up a test in single player, F-14B at 15,000 70 miles from an il-76 at 8,000 set to no reaction. The first Aim-54C MK60 (tested all variants) is launched at 65 miles, the missile flys level for a few seconds and then climbs at a 90 degree angle, if you watch the missile view the F-14 almost passes the missile. That climb continues to 103,000 and the missile in down to about 400 knots. The second shot is at 35 miles, also with a steep loft, this missile tops at 45,000 and again its slow but better than the first. Just for giggles a sparrow is launched at 17 miles and it almost catches the second phoenix (the first fell out of the sky). I’ve attached my track file from testing after I removed all mods and ran a repair just to double check. I’m not saying anything is wrong, but it seems weird. aim54 space launch.trk
  9. I'm going to add my track file here as well. It's pretty simple setup, a templated SA-2 site and a Tomcat. The Tomcat launches the TALDs and turns away, the SA-2 engages the Tomcat shotting it down. The TALD happily over fly the SAM site with there wings in and at one point one TALD flies thought another one, before they finally fly thought the ground, the track ends with them 2000 feet below ground level. The SA-2 site is set to weapons free, Red alarm status, and engage air weapons is on. TALD.trk
  10. I'll add to this, in addition to no wings and not colliding with the ground, no matter what I do SAM sites will not engage the TALDs (on the current Open Beta). I've tried various SAMs (Sa-2, Sa-3, Sa-10), and I removed all mods and did a full clean-up/repair, turned on engage air weapons, but nothing seems to make any difference.
  11. Thanks for the tip! It will be interesting to see what happens when I run the same scenario again.
  12. This makes me feel a bit better, I was starting to think I was crazy with how the radar is loosing tracks / locks. I have a test mission I fly with the F/A-18 and the F-14, yesterday I was in the Hornet over Syria roughly 20,000 feet, my Datalink started showing the pair of MiG-23s at around 60 miles (they scramble out of An Nasiriyah). In RWS after adjusting the elevation I picked them up around 45 miles, 20 degrees to the right, and switched to TWS I then spent from 40 miles to 17 trying to get a L&S and DT2 to stay, the radar would almost as soon as I designate loose one track or the other. I finally got both designated at around 15 miles, fired my Aim-120Cs only to have both tracks drop and the missiles sail off to the last know location. I'm no expert so maybe this is correct in a look-down scenario, it just doesn't seem right. I agree with CommandT, my struggles with the Hornets AA Radar is why I normally fly the F-14A instead.
  13. I know Heatblur is hard at work on Jester lantirn and other Jester upgrades, and I was thinking one of the biggest difficulties with Jester is not being able to converse with him like an actually Pilot and RIO would. So, I was wondering if some of that could be solved by a "Jester Slew" command which would work similar to TDC slew in other aircraft but in the Tomcat could fill in for the missing verbal communicates actually humans would have. For example Jester Slew left could tell Jester to move the HCU to the left with half action pressed, or move the Lantirn pod left depending on how the aircraft is currently configured. I know this is hugely over simplified, but since many of us never get to fly this wonderful aircraft with a Human RIO, it could be a small way to fill in some of the difficulties in communicating with AI.
  14. Awesome! Thanks for the quick answer!
