  1. I would add even picking up from the ground very close to liftoff, the gazelle doesn't slide, makes the pickup a bit unatural.
  2. LIkely meant as aerodynamic studies using a gust type wind tunnel. Nothing directly related to the rafale airplane. https://www.onera.fr/fr/site-index/souffleries-a-rafales.html
  3. Using weight from the Loading window at 10 AOA my speed is reading about 165kts. I get about 152kts at 13 AOA. Admitedly I haven't tested it in the perfect config (9P instead of 550)> I am still showing clearly higher speeds than expected. I have no idea how can IvanK find his speeds... Though there also seems to be a refuel weight bug... Mirage f1 speed test.trk
  4. Actually the gazelle doesn't have the same rotor as the BO105. A kinda obvious hint would be the number of blades (4 on the BO105 and 3 on the gazelle) The gazelle has a semi articulated rotor system vs the fully rigid one of the bo105. However the BO105 rotor was tested for use on the gazelle but proved unsatisfactory. The gazelle has some well known FM issues. I am hoping it eventually gets looked at. We shall see...
  5. Well... spoilers do increase drag ! https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.417.9297&rep=rep1&type=pdf Ailerons tend to create adverse Yaw due to increased drag on the lifting wing Spoilerons tend to create proverse Yaw due to increasead drag on the dropping wing Two different system that need to work in pair with the aerodynamic design of the airplane to work. This becomes even more complex as the airplane evolves through different mach numbers. I do think at the moment the adverse Yaw is near acceptable on roll entry. This appears to be one of the caracteristics of the mirage F1, especially at very low speeds. However on roll exit, the yaw rate is unaceptable high. In general my feeling is that there are still some things around the flight model to be looked at (Yaw, tad high speeds, engine overly sensitive...). But considering the quality of the work that the team is known for and the early access status of the plane, I am sure these things are going to be improved, some of which are already being looked at !
  6. Thanks guys. The Trim is definitely better with the INSTANT TRIM setting. I have watched wags video. I may have missed a few things in that video... like: -why is the trim not transfering in MP ? -why am I losing full control range ? even if I increase my control sensitivity X2 ? -why can't the trim system be improved to reduce the offset over a few seconds and make the controls much smoother ? I may be missing things... but this answer doesn't answer the original post ! Thank you
  7. When trimming the appache, some controls may be released while others are still locked. It lead me a few time to some close calls and crashes. Trimming will also reduce the control range. In some situations, it feels like controls are locked. Finally trimming does not transfer between pilot and cpg. would it be possible to implement a system: -That instead of having controls centered to regain control, brings the controls towards the new center over a X seconds time period (ideally selectable in the special options) -Have an option to maintain the same trim in multiplayer -Have the option to maintain full control range either through increased sensitivity or curves or combination of both. Meanwhile a quick improvement would be to make the center zone larger. Otherwise, great module ! Thank you
  8. Myself and a friend have had the same issue. In single player it seems to be fine, but in multiplayer, I get control reversal in both pitch and roll. To me it appears this applies to certain servers. (Like aerobatics europe and aerobatics online) Engine off and on had the control reversal, but as soon as I taxied it came back to normal...
  9. I am getting the exact same issue. Mirage 2000 over sea, sunset, screen flickers when looking towards the sun. Happens in external and internal views . That's on MP. Note: When turning the head away from the sun, the box follows the sun. For example, loonking straight at the "sun" I get a full black screen. Looking mostly away from the sun, on the opposite side of the sun, the box doesn't reach. (not too sure about up/down, but similar stuff appear to happen) It was at low level. As soon as I climbed It was ok again. Was heavy flicker at low level, and then above 200ft the flicker reduced at at 300 it was almost gone... maybe related to sun angle?
  10. Yeah. That is normal behaviour ! It is part of the recent radar update, making it more realistic.
  11. I am talking about the smoke in General. Nowhere was it mentioned this bug is just about the smoke pods. Sorry for misinterpreting your question. Now for smoke pods, can it be used on the ground ? Yes Then it is tied into the airframe logic, often via the armement system which disable the firing of weapons on the ground. Could it be wired differently to permit the use of the pods on the ground ? In theory yes Sure smoke doesn't go away fast in some conditions (laminar-stable airflow, low wind). But as noted in the bug report WITH THE BUG even after turning off the smoke it grows and accumulates up to cloud like sizes.
  12. Wait what ??? - Smoke on the ground is sometimes desired by players... as is in real life - Servers can not disable player smoke function while on the ground. It is either the player has smoke or he doesn't. - While most players are aware of this bug some aren't and it then leads to this issue. Also at times, people may accidentally forget smoke. requiering subsequent disconnect, - This smoke bug also impacts other objects such as I don't know... Sam sites ? Do you think it is best for players and servers to find workarounds arround ED's bugs ?
  13. Thank you for these great insights Super Grover ! This AHRS device sure sounds like a bit of a sensitive relic ! I must say I am amazed at the very enjoyable level of details that was brought into this module ! As for this point, the above behaviour does make perfect sense. However, it is not what seems to happen. After startup I have both my COMP and SYNC on the same heading as expected. But, then as I come back to the deck, I frequently have SYNC going as expected to the false heading, while COMP remains on the good heading. At times, I have observed this error before even launching off the deck. I have attached the track it should show this quite clearly. You may have to time accelerate to skip the first few mins. Error is shown lined up on the cat. https://mega.nz/file/ADxHHApB#KSgNPGgkCiYRv6E4wmL9VNa3tcbwFkrJCw7iNT37ybQ
  14. Thank you Super Grover for the infos. Indeed SLAVED SYNC works at very low accelerations ! Is it only based on gx acceleration ? is there also pitch/bank limits ? I guess the HUD and VDI showing hdg 360 in compass mode is normal behaviour then? And what about COMP and SLAVED showing different headings on the deck? Thanks again ! I look forward to the next gorgeous update Best regards
  15. Hello, Reported since 2.7, There is a smoke bud. If using smoke on the ground, the smoke will accumulate and grow until player disconnects. Please fix it. It's very anoying ! Thank you
  16. Hi @IronMike Did some additional testing. I think there are still a few issues. COMP mode shows correct heading. Though in COMP Mode, HUD and VDI are showing hdg 360... SLAVED mode. Will not slave correctly by itsef (30mn +) or by pressing HDG KNOB (1mn +) ! Seem to slave correctly after USING DG (was still about 5 degrees off). As noted in the manual, pressing the HDG KNOB should help it sync. But It didn't actually make any difference Additionaly SYNC doesn not seem to be applied correctly. (LEFT/RIGHT sync shows sync left or right based on heading... It should actually ALLWAYS show the correction to make ( Heading 360, actually on 350, 350-360 = -10, slave to the left...) Doesn't behave like this at the moment) DG mode. Nice to help sync SLAVED But HDG KNOB is very finiky to adjust. After a landing on the carrier, SLAVED (slaved to false heading) and COMP do not show the same heading. (maybe ok? before the first T/O) It may be worth it to have a look at this compass thing again...
  17. HDG Difference (COMP/SLAVED) on carrier deck... Does not match
  18. Tested here. VMCA and critical engine does actually appears to be modelled. Right engine off, VMCA was found right at about 98 MPH Left engine off, VMCA was found right at about 110 MPH To me, that shows a correct behaviour in terms of the critical engine. HOWEVER... Feathering the propeller didn't actually make any difference to these numbers. Due to the added unfeathered prop drag, VMCA should increase in this situation. It wasn't the case. (Note: right engine didn't appear feathered as it did with the left engine; behaviour unchanged in both situations) Mosquito Right off.trk Mosquito Left off.trk
  19. Up Still showing this problem... ( here lined up on the cat with correct BRC set; carrier spawn )
  20. Hello, I have enjoyed discovering the mosquito. Though, I am a bit disapointed by the lack of twin specific sound. On a twin when engine RPM doesn't match precisely, the sum of the two "high" frequencies creates a third low frequency sound. Opening two pages and playing two close (but not identical) frequencies will demonstrate this effect very clearly. https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/ I look forward to having to set my props precisely !
  21. Coordinates are in his screenshots
  22. I understand the importance of having a PC matching your specs, but between an unpopular RTX2000 series and the shortage of newer RTX/AMD cards. To me it doesn't seem best to essentially exclude earlier generations cards. I understand this helps bring better looking stuff, and that itself is great. But while DCS is already kind of an elite game, making it even more exclusive essentially kills the purpose of a free map. So I don't really get that! I sure hope optimizing is part of the DCS roadmap. In this regards, I hope Vulcan and multithreading are seriously going to improve things. Hopefully Including features such as DLSS or super resolution (or both).
  23. I know, but until graphics card become accessible and affordable, that's the reality for many of the dcs players saddly!
