  1. Hi, I’ve only been having these A/A non locking problems since 2.7 came along. I’ve just been reading the suggestions in the forum to make it better so I’ll give them a try soon. I just want to say before 2.7 the radar would lock every time whenever I designated a target in RWS or TWS and TWS did all of its prioritising every time too. Now the radar locks only on close targets only on RARE occasions and TWS doesn’t do anything different to RWS.
  2. It now seems that only firing the SLAMER causes the freeze. I’ve flown a few missions with other AG and AA weapons and there is no problem. It freezes after firing a SLAMER every time and the whole computer freezes. Richard
  3. Hi, Just wanted to add my concern to the huge list. Just can't complete a mission anymore without DCS freezing since upgrading to 2.7. Despite what would happen with other users, in the 2 or 3 years I've used DCS I've only ever had one crash before the update. Another update just downloaded and installed. Don't know what it was for but it made no difference to stability. I have no unofficial mods. Having fired a SLAM-ER from an F-18C with datalink pod over the Persian Gulf I enter a climb and dcs freezes right there without fail. Richard
  4. Thanks to DorianR666 and NPOSuperhornet. Both very helpful and your advice solved every problem I listed. I had previously totally missed the tweeks that needed me to use IFA. Back to lovin’ this plane again. Richard
  5. OK. Thanks for your help but I have only ever switched INS switch to NAV after INS alignment and haven’t had these faults before. I will try it tomorrow. Thanks again. Richard
  6. Hi, There are a few threads below that are describing the same sort of problems I’ve had since 2 updates ago. It’s about target designation with/without the litening pod and the pod in general. Some examples: I put a waypoint right on a target in mission editor. When flying I select that waypoint on the HSI and select waypoint designate. The pod looks miles away at nothing. Litening is never in snowplough mode. It travels at an angle to direction of flight. If I designate an object as a target through litening, the target diamond on the HUD is placed miles away from where the litening is looking. If dropping a bomb in AUTO, designating an object as a target through Litening causes the Azimuth Steering Line to appear in any random direction and nowhere near the target. If trying to bomb in CCIP, the CCIP line joined to the cross remains parallel to the horizon in any direction the whole time. This F18 is in the hangar for now as it is useless in air to ground. This never used to happen but if anyone can suggest something that may be the cause like a new bad habit I may have formed and am unaware of it would be great to hear about it. As there are others describing much the same problem in this forum I’m hoping that a programmer can make a fix in an update if it’s not something that I and others are causing. Thanks Richard
  7. Thanks for your help. It was the tank symbol. I thought I tried all of those but it seems not very well. Now the F-18 stays on the Stennis when making waypoint 0 Takeoff from Ramp. Don't understand why the picture of the carrier is required for that to happen exactly but who am I to judge? Thanks again and all the best. Richard:thumbup:
  8. Hi, As if this editor isn't confusing enough to use I thought I remembered being able to actually see the Stennis on the map if I zoomed in far enough and then I could place aircraft on the deck. Since the update I installed today the Stennis cannot be seen, only the symbol. I can place an F-18C on the symbol but when I select waypoint 0 as Takeoff from Ramp the aircraft symbol zips off into the ocean. When I start the mission the aircraft is on the deck moving all over the place then crashes into something and then DCS crashes to desktop. None of this happens if placing an F-18 on an airfield. Is there some new way of setting up a mission with the Stennis that I haven't seen anything about or is something going wrong? Richard
