  1. Two quick questions Where do I find my current version number? When doing a COLD AND DARK STARTUP using VR and setting the flaps I keep getting a WINDOW OUT OF FOCUS MESSAGE. But when I change the flap setting in flight the message does not appear. Is anyone else experiencing this situation? I have noticed if I move my head to the left quickly I am more likely to get the WINDOW OUT OF FOCUS MESSAGE so I have learnt to slow down my head movements. Cheers
  2. Further to my post about the rudder being offset to the left. I completed a COLD AND DARK start using the STARTUP, TAXI and TAKEOFF module located in the Hind TRAINING modules. After completing the STARTUP section the Controls Indicator displayed the rudder and cyclic roll in the correct position. I have no explanation why the rudder is offset in the IN FLIGHT option and correctly positioned after starting the Hind in the STARTUP TRAINING module. Cheers.
  3. I have the same problem with the rudder being offset to the left. The problem persists in Cold and Dark starts, in the air and on the ground with engines started. I own most of the DCS aircraft including the Huey, Gazelle and Mi-8 and none have the rudder problem and have all worked perfectly after setting up the Axis Commands. I deleted and re-entered my Axis Commands settings for the rudder, cyclic and collective several times but the rudder problem persists. Unlike David OC who does not appear to have an issue with the cyclic roll, my cyclic roll is positioned very slightly to the left of centre but not nearly as bad as the rudder. Also when viewing the rudder pedals in the Hind the left rudder is depressed which confirms the Controls Indicator is correct. To centre the rudder I need to apply opposite right rudder throughout the flight. I use a CH rudder, VKB Gladiator joystick and a VIRPIL Mongoose 50 throttle. When experiencing problems I always assume I am the cause of the problem which has been the case most of the time. Usually this approach eventually results in me identifying what I have done wrong, but not this time. Any suggestions? Cheers
  4. Thanks for all the replies. The more I learnt about the Hind the more I wanted it so I have pre ordered the Hind. Although I expect many similarities between the Mi8 and the Hind, there appears to be enough differences to make flying the Hind a new experience. I considered the Apache as an alternative to the Hind but it did not appeal to me. Maybe because the Apache is in very early development so it is not possible to demonstrate all its qualities. Cheers
  5. I have the Huey, Gazelle and the Mi8 and enjoy them all because each is different in every way. Should I buy the Hind which appears to be very similar to the Mi8 so may disappoint me. What are the thoughts of Mi8 owners about buying the Hind? Cheers
  6. I was using the Cold Start option and using the Georgian map as I have done many times. If it was an unexpected simulated systems failure it was a very good test for someone familiar with the C101EB. Last week I was doing the same Cold Start option using the Georgian map and all the runway painted markers/lines were missing which has never happened before. The next day the painted lines reappeared. My thoughts are it is a random software problem. Cheers
  7. After takeoff in the C101EB and commencing a circuit of the airport in preparation for a landing I had multiple system failures. Systems that failed were fuel flow indicator, pitch indicator, main and backup ADI, all radios, flap indicator failed but the flaps worked, the air brake indicator and air brake failed. Although the fuel flow indicator failed all fuel pumps worked and other essential systems such as landing gear and wheel brakes so landing was possible. The circuit breakers were OK. The battery metre was reading 20 volts. There was a major failure with electrical systems and a part failure of the hydraulic system. My thoughts are that this was a software failure and not a simulated in flight system failure. What are your thoughts. Cheers
  8. What is the purpose of the large painted symbols located on the upper part of the Island and visible from the flight deck? Cheers
  9. When I select the F/A18 Launch option or the F/A18 Cold and Dark option within The Super Carrier MISSIONS both commence IN FLIGHT and not at the catapult or deck. The BRIEFING screen for both the F/A18 Launch and F/A18 Cold and Dark options within MISSIONS clearly shows the F/A18 over water as I would expect for the carrier landing Mission option. Is anyone else having this issue? Cheers PROBLEM SOLVED I should have waited for my Pre Ordered copy to arrive. I was using the initial copy that, I assume, was sent to everyone. My pre Ordered copy arrived the next day.
  10. Since the 2.5.6 update the path of gates which appear in some of the training modules no longer exists in the Case 1 landing training module. The instructions in the training modules still talk about a path of gates that must be followed but there is no longer any gates visible since the update. Now the path of gates has been replaced by a single gate which remains invisible until it is too late to navigate through it. Is anyone experiencing the same problem since the 2.5.6 update? Cheers
  11. While setting up the controls for the Viggen I could not locate the CHEAT Auto Start and Auto Stop options. Do they exist for the Viggen? Although I prefer to carry out the complete startup process for all my DCS aircraft, I find the Auto Start and Stop functions are useful when demonstrating DCS to friends. Cheers
  12. Status of CH in Win10 Jodet. Thanks for sharing your recent experience with CH about the future of the CH products and the current difficulties with Windows 10. Like you I have used CH products for many years and, until the problem with my CH Pro Throttle in DCS with Windows 10, was very happy with the quality and ease of us of the CH products. Because of the ongoing problem with my CH Pro Throttle in DCS, and my assumption that CH had no intention of supporting their products, last week I ordered a VIRPIL Throttle for use with DCS. Your post has confirmed I have not wasted my money. Fortunately the CH Pro Throttle still works with X Plane 11 and the Condor Soaring software so the CH Throttle still has some use for the near future. Cheers
  13. After further tests I have re-confirmed my CH Pro Throttle does have a problem with the throttle moving from the OFF position to the IDLE position in aircraft such as the L-38 Albatross and the Harrier. I believe this problem is caused by CH no longer updating their software. When I Bind the DCS throttle axis to the throttle on my VKB Gladiator Pro everything works as it should. I have placed an order for a VIRPIL throttle but until it arrives I will make do with the VKB Gladiator Pro throttle. Thanks for all your suggestions. Cheers
  14. CH Throotle Thanks for the replies. To clarify what I meant about going from OFF to IDLE, I will refer you to the many excellent posts to the CH forum about this problem. Those more knowledgeable about these matters can explain the problem better than myself. From reading the CH forum posts it appears to me that the problems with the CH Throttle are a result of the decision by the CH products manufacturer to concentrate on their Industrial related products at the expense of their Flight Simulator products such as the CH Pro Throttle. So it appears that the CH Pro Throttle software has not been updated to accommodate Windows 10. I have not experienced any problems with my CH Pro Throttle with the Condor gliding simulator and X Plane 11. I have no problems using the CH Pro Throttle when flying the Mirage 2000, which is my favourite DCS aircraft, because the throttle simply travels from 0% to 100% and back to 0%. But when flying the F5E the throttle cant return to the IDLE position ready for shut down because of what appears to be a calibration problem. Recalibrating the Throttle does not solve the problem for me but some have managed to recalibrate their CH Throttle. So anticipating that the problems with the CH Flight Simulator products will increase because CH are not updating the software used by their Flight Simulator products, I am looking for an alternative to the CH Pro Throttle to use with DCS. Thanks again for your suggestions which I have been researching. Cheers
  15. A question to those who have replaced their CH Pro Throttle with another brand of throttle. I fly DCS in Windows 10 using a VKB Gladiator stick, CH rudder and a CH Pro Throttle. I am very happy with the VKB Gladiator stick and the CH Rudder, but no longer satisfied with the CH Pro Throttle. I am not a computer guru so prefer everything to be “Plug and Play” so I can spend my time enjoying DCS and not maintaining the system. Most of the time the CH Pro Throttle works in DCS, but I have the same problem as others when moving the throttle from OFF to IDLE and back again. What I am looking for in a replacement throttle is: Easy to install and maintain while using in a Windows 10 environment. Easy to use while wearing a VR headset, something the CH Pro Throttle is very good at because of its easy to access buttons. There is no need to lift the bottom of the VR headset to visually locate a button as is sometimes the case with my VKB Gladiator stick. I would also like a dual throttle to use on the twin engined aircraft. Any suggestions from those wiser and more experienced in these matters than myself? Cheers
  16. Rift S with standard glasses and frames A question for the Rift S owners who may have experimented wearing their glasses while using the Rift S. Does the Rift S allow the wearing of glasses with a standard frame without scratching the lenses and also causing discomfort during use? After I purchased my Rift 18 months ago I unsuccessfully attempted to wear my glasses with a standard frame when using my Rift. So I chose to use aftermarket lenses with a frame designed for the Rift. Hopefully the Rift S allows the user to wear their glasses without damaging the lenses and causing discomfort. Cheers
  17. I have the same problem binding the kneeboard of the YAK to my KB Gladiator Pro or my CH Pro Throttle. The kneeboard area appears to be greyed out suggesting to me that the kneeboard functions are not functioning. WIP maybe. Without a kneeboard, remembering the YAK startup procedure while using VR is beyond a YAK novice such as myself. Any suggestions? Cheers
  18. Thanks for the advise. Positioned just below the tanker and back from the boom worked. Positioned just below the tanker and back from the basket does not work. Now the hard part begins....connecting with the basket and not being waved off by the tanker. Cheers
  19. More assistance needed with air to air refuelling using the Mirage 2000C. I have a communication problem with the tanker or viz versa. All goes well up to when I want the basket extended but the tanker keeps sending the "RETURN PRE CONTACT" message. I have tried many different approaches and danced around close to the basket but I never get the basket lowered or the tanker to use any other message than "RETURN PRE CONTACT". This happens with the mission supplied to me by viper2097 and a mission I created myself. I modified viper2097's mission to include a different skin on the Mirage and used the Persian Gulf map. My first baby steps in creating my own missions. I am certain it is a "newbie" mistake but one I cant rectify despite watching many videos and reading many posts. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  20. viper2097 thanks for your offer of assistance. The Mirage 2000C is my favourite aircraft but, having just mastered the basic trainers, has given me a very steep learning curve because of its more advanced systems etc. I can now land the Mirage 2000C without blowing the tyres and/or crashing. I have been reading the aircraft and mission editor manuals and watching the many Youtube videos while learning the basics. But I soon get impatient and look for shortcuts in the learning process so I can do the fun part which is flying the Mirage. With your refuelling mission I can do some of the fun stuff while still doing the more tedious stuff of reading the manuals etc and getting a solid understanding of the manuals. From the little I have learnt about the Mission Editor it is obvious that making a refuelling mission is only the start so there is no avoiding learning everything about the Mission Editor. As someone who prefers learning by watching the many excellent Youtube tutorials instead of starting with the less entertaining manuals, I have learnt this shortcut approach can cause confusion. I feel many of the Youtube tutorials assume the viewer has some understanding of the basics so do not mention or explain in greater detail some of the basic steps. I think this happened to me when learning how to make a refuelling mission and when adding the mirage. So with your refuelling mission I can spend many hours flying and mastering air to air refuelling while motivating me to taking my time reading the manuals. Cheers
  21. Thank you viper2097 Your mission for the Mirage 2000C was exactly what I needed to start the long process of learning air to air refuelling. Analysing your mission may also help me understand why my attempts at creating a mission failed. Cheers
  22. Is there an existing mission for air to air refuelling of a Mirage 2000C which I can download? There appears to be air to air refuelling missions for the A10 and F/A18 which can be downloaded but none that I can find for the Mirage 2000C. It will take sometime for me to master the Mission Editor and create my own missions. If I could down load an existing Mirage 2000C air to air refuelling mission, which is the only mission I need at this time, I could take my time mastering the Mission Editor. Cheers
  23. Just upgraded the latest changes to the Mirage 2000C and now the Nosewheel Steering does not work. I remapped the Noswwheel Steering control on my Gladiator joystick but it made no difference. I then remapped the Nosewheel Steering control to my CH throttle without success. I then used the Keyboard S key and still no success. I placed the mouse on the Nosewheel Steering switch located behind the stick. The icon turned green but the switch would not move. Is anyone experiencing the same problem since the upgrade? So far there has not been any other issues since the upgrade to the Mirage 2000C. Cheers
  24. The Quick Start Options for the Mirage 2000C in the Caucasus and Nevada maps are not available in the Persian Gulf Map. I can create a mission for the Mirage 2000C in the Persian Gulf map but I cant select the Cold Start Option from the Quick Start Options because there are none. Is the absence of the Mirage 2000C Quick Start Options in the Persian Gulf Map a WORK IN PROGRESS or is it missing from my copy of the Persian Gulf Map? Cheers
