  1. If primarily doing flying/racing sims I think 1 will suffice, placing it in front-above your face. also recommend (especially with 1 Steam BS) XRNecksafer to amplify your head movement (very similar to TrackIR in 2D) unless you have a neck like an owl. You can check 6 and still not lose lighthouse tracking..
  2. I would keep it simple, Latest Varjo Base (3.10.3.3 - shows up in Programs and Files as 3.10.3.25), Varjo Foveated (https://github.com/mbucchia/Varjo-Foveated) . and the Varjo Optical Adjustment bat file.
  3. I think, especially if you only buy 1, to go Gen 2. Read a bit here - https://forum.htc.com/topic/7656-10-vs-20-base-stations-whats-the-real-difference/ I got a new one from Varjo with my Aero order, a second (for a bit less) direct from Steam..
  4. I did it a month ago, 0 regrets... almost same system.
  5. Very true, headshape plays a big part in it. I am also using the Creative Apache strap and feel next to nothing on my face. I do need to get it set well and not have too much angle cranked into those side adjusters though.. Mine are one click down from the top setting..
  6. Running MT exe, no switches, using the Varjo FR, no issues at all...
  7. Replied, sorry, long gone..
  8. Thanks, but look at the post above yours, problem solved..
  9. The Base stations were substantially less € from Steam than they were from Varjo, in my case €169 vs. €199...
  10. I'm going to try the 45 FPS VSync setting today, used your other settings "39PPD and in C:\Program Files\OpenXR-Varjo-Foveated\ settings.cfg I set peripheral_multiplier=.8, but unsure where you said "Set Focus to 1.4" if you meant the "focus_multiplier=" setting or the "vertical_focus_scale=" setting? I set focus_multiplier=1.4 and the results are excellent, but not sure if correct?
  11. Mine arrived yesterday also, had some issues with setup due to my having all 3 of my monitors plugged in, then realized I didn't push the power cords for the lighthouses in all the way (DUH). Once up and running, Workspace (Desktop) set up properly I was amazed at the clarity. Other than my bad (without looking) typing skills I could easily work in the headset full time. Hopped in a DCS Mustang, crystal clear and perfectly smooth using the MT exe, in IL-2 I noticed the glass on the gauges of my WWI plane for the 1st time, could see a reflection in it! Now just to get it optimized/tuned. Tracking with my two Lighthouses mounted at 10:00/14:00 high was perfect, and XRNeckSafer worked flawlessly also..
  12. Used the second mounting point on the bases and the angle was much better, tracking seems perfect, even if I spin way around in my chair. Had to unplug my HDMI monitor, used to work fine with the G2, any workarounds? So far love the clarity and the ease of use of the desktop! Also, XRNS works flawlessly in DCS and IL-2, my neck is pleased....
  13. I use a Sennheiser headset (and did with G2 as my wife's workstation is ~2m away, G2 speakers bothered her when working) so better quality sound/mic than G2, and the FOV is something to simply become accustomed to. If FOV was my main parameter I would have bought the Pimax Crystal, but quality of build/ quality support/ comfort are much more important to me. With 2 lighthouses it actually cost me a few euro more than the Crystal..
  14. I "think" if I mount them up a little higher than the red circles in my photo, and 8-10" out on both sides, angled down and toward my seat, they should work quite well according to the setup instructions i've seen online. 1st Base Station arrived today, it does come with the wall mount (to answer my own question), the issue is the flexibility of it. I mounted it temporarily and I would like it pointing at my face but the best I can get is it directed at the chair headrest (back of my head). From what I have read it still should be fine as I will be well within a 120 degree FOV and the two will intersect at the headset but a better wall mount would allow much more flexibility in where they point.. so I just ordered a pair of simple wall mounts that will do what I need (and look better on my white wall/ceiling).. €10 for the pair. Edit: Aero and 2nd Base Stations arrived today, Ordered September 20, 9 days is a bit quicker than my first (cancelled after 3 months) order back in 2021!
  15. Do they come with wall mounts? I can lag those into my (sloped) ceiling without issue if they do, where the red circles are (or higher) in the pic. I also found mini-tripods that would allow a desk mount just under my monitors.. Any input on XRNeckSafer working well? She shipped yesterday, woohoo! null Thanks Don!
  16. I just found out the actual size of these, they are a LOT smaller than I thought! 3.625 inches (9.21cm) by 2.75 inches (7cm).. think I will have to devise some sort of stands for them, or devise a method to hang them..
  17. I have the same query except about XRNeckSafer..
  18. I went ahead and ordered a 2nd Base station direct from Steam, was €40 less that the "discounted to €199" base that I ordered direct from Varjo with the Aero... will play with different placements, may end up hanging them from my (sloped) ceiling. Ideally I can figure out a way to place them on my monitor mount somehow..
  19. LOL, forgot I was in A DCS forum, have not flown DCS in quite some time but yes, I use OpenXR. I fly IL2 Box 95% of the time now... rest is BMS Falcon.
  20. I have a G2, and an Aero on order, so will be able to assess soon but from everything I have read the Aero is much better optimized so I actually expect better performance. Having said that, with my specs the G2 runs at max FPS all the time anyway..
  21. I think you would need to say what your system specs are.....
  22. Still wondering the +/- of using the Varjo FR (OpenXR Toolkit Disabled) vs. the Quad-view w/OpenXR Toolkit. As I fly IL-2/race in iRacing I currently use OXRTK with the G2.
  23. I was going to center it where the laptop screen is in the pic, raised up just below the monitor..
