What about highskid variant? Have you got any news?

I stopped the work on the mods for now. The highskid was ok for photo flying and landing on ground, but not on ships etc. It obviously needs a new collision model for the UH-1, which I did just very basically, no damage model or other functions associated with it. In the end its not usable as plug and play mod, although it looks quite cool I think. Perhaps inspiration for someone else?

But - thanks much for the interest.

This mod is great, especially the static version with folded rotorblades/tail. Too bad it causes CTDs and freezes in the current DCS version. I know there are other Seahawk mods out there but they are flyable mods and thus not really suitable to populate carrier decks. This mod is also the only one which has the rotor blade supports modelled. I hope the author can get back to it someday to fix the CTD issues so we can use it again.

Agreed, would be nice to have a proper Seahawk mod.

I think there was an incompatibility in 2 files - please see update note March 5th 2025 in first page.

    Hi,

Is there a way i can make the sling load line longer when hooking up? I can change the rope length in the ME but you still have to hover down to say 35' when you have a 100' line attached to hook up to the load which is not realistic, you should be able to hover at say 90' to connect the line to the load

Normally this works fine, but I know only the Huey. Did not check however after last update.

Please don't tell me this is broken!!

It looks like @Eight Ball's finding still works: when in game, select rearming panel and choose the livery containing the "pylons off" args. I.e. the AB-412 Bristow livery. Then the AB-412 loadout stays, but the pylons disappear. Somehow weird though, but a workaround for now.

The above still works when flying, but not in replay....how can we remove the weapon stations in replay??? Did anyone experience this as well?

can someone help me figure out the texture editing for this ?

Should be standard texture editing of the files in the mod pack. However, to see it in the ME, for some reason sometimes you need to switch between livery chosing and loadout back and forth. Best practise is to check textures in Modelviewer as usual.

Game seems to be crashing due to this MOD. Not sure why but if you F2 to the helo the game freezes. Does not freeze with other Helos.

Let me know if you need a track

Thanks for the info. However, seems to be fine here, all views work, F2 no problem. Last Mod Version, Game Version OB 2.9.4.53990

  8. A simple mod providing swimming polar icebergs and icesheets, to be placed as ships at sea, coming in two sizes (IceSheet1 and IceSheet2). They can follow a waypoint path to simulate drift and have collision, but no damage model. Ships have no chance... Helicopters can land on some areas, which allow to land without sinking into "snow". You need to find out by yourself, as IRL. Structures like biwaks etc can be placed, same here with "snow". This is due to an integrative collision model, which does not reflect the surface 1:1.

Helicopters and ships are not part of this package.

    Tested with DCS 2.9

    INSTALL:
    Unzip the package.
    1. Copy the content of "tech" into your "Saved Games/DCS/Mods/tech" folder

    CREDITS:
The 3D model of the icesheet was downloaded from Turbosquid with permission for royalty free usage and distribution. I made some changes to the original model though, and included a simplified collision shape.

    Take warm clothes!
