  1. Nrw Varjo user, former long time Reverb G2. I have the "cursor confined to window" setting turned on in Dcs. With the reverb, i had no problem with the cursor moving to other windows with a "window out of focus" type messgage being displayed inside dcs, and therefore losing control of the mouse. Since switching to the Aero, I have that happening a lot even though I have the same setting turned on in dcs. Quite annoying since i have to take off the varjo to correct it. Then the eye tracking goes bonkers and has to reset itself etc....sometimes it doesnt even realign itself properly....Anybody else have that issue with the Varjo? Is there something I can do inside Varjo base to stop it? Im having a fantastic time with the Varjo other than that, highly recommend it.... Ideally, I would like not to ever have to take off the headset till finished. Also, sometimes I can use the buttons on the headset to go back to the virtual desktop in varjo base to try and correct the focus issue, then return to dcs, other times the buttons are not responsive. Pressing and/or pressing and holding etc...does nothing at all. Not sure what is causiing the occasional non-responsiveness.....or how to guarantee reponsiveness at all times. Thank you, tim
  2. Hi Buzzer1997... I tried your suggestions....turn down volume and install the new G2 firmware.... Seems to have fixed the problem. Flew a couple single player missions last night and was able to take off from the carrier, launch weapons and follow them all the way to the target with the F6 view with no issues or black outs. Curious that after a couple years of using the G2 these problems would suddenly arise with no setup changes but no matter, seems to be fixed now. Things happen. Regarding my cable....after going through a lot of cable drama with the HP G1, I treat it as if made from fine, delicate crystal! So thank you once again for your excellent suggetions! tim
  3. Hi Buzzer1977, The Honorable BigNewy, and Dangerzone, Thank you for your replies...sorry it took me a while to respond back...been pretty busy the last week or so... I updated to 2.9 and that seems to have fixed the blackout on carrier take off.... But I noticed that if I follow a missle or bomb down to the target until it explodes, the same thing happens when it explodes...first one eye black, then both for a few seconds, then it goes back to normal. Im not sure if that was there before or something new since I usually just observe the impact with the tpod...as long as I just do that, everything is fine. Not a big deal at all compared to the blackout on carrier launch....that was kind of difficult to avoid... I dont think my volume level is up around 100% but I will check it out. Ive had this reverb for a few years now and dont remember ever changing the volume since original ser up...and this just started recently. All I do is fly DCS with it, nothing else. Could be the Reverb is just getting tired I suppose. Might be time to take advantage of the large price drop in a Varjo! Thank you again for the responses, I really appreciate the help. tim
  4. Hi, Been flying the hornet off the supercarrier for years now using the G2 with no issues. Lately though, when I take off from the supercarrier, the headset goes dark for about 10 seconds, then turns back on and all is well for the rest of the mission....and hopefully I have not crashed into the ocean by then...lol.. Other than launching from the super carrier all is well...it never goes dark. Nothing has changed in the powering of the headset. My system is a 9900 cpu, 32gb ram, 3080ti graphics card. Nothing has changed in it recently. No idea why this is occuring now. (May be related to the huge drop in price for the varjo aero though....lol). Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue and found a cause/solution. Maybe the initial signs of my reverb on its way out? Thanks in advance, tim
  5. Absolutely agree...clouds look pretty bad in Vr right now... Wonder if we can keep the other updates and just set the clouds back to what they were until Ed has a chance to work thier magic on them...
  6. Hi...

Im number 407 on the ‘now serving 1-425’ list.  (twells555).  Not sure what I should do now.  Is it my time to order?

Also, I see people on the list marked as ‘reserved’ or ‘on hold.  What is that about?  Is there a version 2 coming out in the near future which I should wait for?
    Thank you, tim

ps...tried to find answers in thr thread but it is ~111 pages long!11

  7. Whoah!!! When I read that first sentence I thought I was watching a 'Jabbers' video! lmao...
  8. I had this happening for a while...not sure what caused it since it had been working fine for over a year of usage. I think what I did which solved it was to go into the vaicom pro subdir in the voiceattack apps folder and deleted the config dir...after making a back up copy.....after making a back up copy...did I mention about making a backup copy first?....the config dir in there then restarted voiceattack and the config screen was coming up again... Say...did I mention the part about making a backup copy first in case it doesn't work? Yeah...you should definately make a back up copy first. Can't stress that enough...LOL...Hope it helps! Heck....back up the whole damn VoiceAttack directory first!
  9. The last few posts seem to have been the result of the short conversation between Woody01 and myself...regarding his refund efforts. There was no 'usual internet thing'...no generalizing...and not trying to influence anybody about anything. And come on, @imacken, for the last bunch of pages when you were seeking advice about your issues you didn't seem so 'happy' with your reverb...lol. Just seeking some information from Woody01. The fact is after using the Oculus Rift and then the Pimax5k for a few years, I love the Reverb...hands down the best VR experience I have had yet. And I am sure I will also upgrade to the G2 when it comes out because the G1 was good enough to take the chance....when it was working... Another fact is that the HP response was excellent. Each time they sent me a replacement I had it in my hands in less than two days...sometimes the next day...couldn't ask for more. And HP didn't play 20 questions about the exchange etc...they just did it. Kudos to them for that. Could not have been easier. But also, the fact is that they have now sent me three different headsets and a cable and each replacement item has had new issues.....its been going on for about 6 weeks now...how long would you wait before thinking about asking for a refund? HP is obviously not doing any qual testing on these units they are sending out as 'replacements'. I wouldn't care if they are new or refurbished if they just worked. But they don't. And thats my only issue with the reverb. Sure, it broke, big deal...things break. But when you offer a 1 year warrantee and this is how it is serviced...I think I would like to at least know that going in...and I haven't seem anything about it being any different with the G2 warrantee policy... And are just the facts of my (personal) experience with the reverb so far. No generalities, No 'internet' thing (I hardly ever post anything), and not something I believe applies to all...of course not. But definately something I would like to have been made aware of going in. So yes, I'm sure there are thousands of happy Reverb users out there with no issues. Absolutely. I was one of them for half a year. Its a great headset when its working. But buyer beware...the warrantee policy is not as good as the headset! Hey....Sorry, this grew to be so long...and if the last few posts were not the result of the conversation between Woody01 and myself, my apologies in advance!
  10. @Woody01 - Thanks for the reply. I agree, I'm on my 3rd headset and second cable and still have problems with stuff they are sending. Nothing close to the way my original headset performed for the first six months. It was rock solid. Really a shame as you say. So did HP agree to give you the credit towards the G2, or did the store you purchased from (Not bought from HP?) man up and decide to do the right thing for you? I would be fine with a credit if it were offered from HP...when it was working the Reverb was the best of the vr headsets I've used hands down. No question.
  11. @Woody01 - Wondering how you made out with your Refund? I had the G1 2nd Gen reverb for about six months and it was Rock Solid. I really loved it. But after about 6 months it started a weird flashing of stuff behind me for a second or two when I would look to the left and especially to the left and down. (I do that a lot in DCS...lol). Hard to describe... HP was great and fast to send out a replacement, but that one had the original 'flashing' and also the right lens would start constant flickering after about 10 minutes. So then they replaced the cable but the problem was not solved. Now I have just recieved a second headset replacement and this one still has the original 'flashing', but also a solid thin vertical dark line is always present in the right eye. (Man, don't they test this stuff?)... So to say the least I'm pretty frustrated and am thinking about just asking for a refund as well...enough is enough... So I'm wondering how you made out... Thank you! tim
  12. LOL...I've blown off my canopy more times than I care to count....just missing that little bit of lock at the end and I've got a carrier born ragtop!!!
  13. +1 on that....public relations...aiyahhh....you couldn't pay me enough to do that!!!
