You need to unpack it (like any other .zip liverie) and place it on the DCS savedgames Liveries folder. If you don´t have the folder you need to create it and name it exactly as it is in DCS core folder.

Check how is it created on my side:

I think it's a zip file ready for mod managers

    Hi guys,

I've performed some testing with NLR HFS and SimShaker for Aviators having them both installed.

It looks like there is a conflict between NLR and SSA scripts.

If you decided to use SimShaker for Aviators with DCS and not to use NLR HFS you can resolve this conflict by slightly editing Export.lua script in C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts subfolder *.

NLR HFS inserts its line in this file to engage the script:

    local HFSlfs=require('lfs');dofile(HFSlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/HFSExport.lua')

If you comment this line out by adding -- in front of it as below:

    --local HFSlfs=require('lfs');dofile(HFSlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/HFSExport.lua')

the conflict will be resolved without NLR HFS deletion.

I recommend to edit lua scripts with Notepad++ app since Windows Notepad can damage the file structure.

If you are not fond of editing scripts you can simply replace the file with my one, which is attached.

    Hopefully this helps.

    * - C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts subfolder for DCS Open Beta branch correspondently.

    Export.lua 254 B · 0 downloads

    Thanks for your work

Yes and no - you can use either the actual sound of DCS to feed the buttkicker, in which case you need a splitter (the meh solution) or you need a third party software that produces dedicated effects for the buttkicker over a second sound adapter. The latter is the superior solution by far.

DCS can only output to one audio device.

Not sure about your last statement, I have DCS regular sound playing through my speakers and comms playing through the speakers from my Rift S.
I choose both output from DCS audio settings. And I have checked the option "hear like in helmet".
The OP precisely remarks he´s receiving comms. So I think he just needs to choose the proper output for his system

Late reply; did you get your issue resolved?  2nd what ToastFrenzy said - use the 3rd party software (eg Simshaker) with the Buttkicker if possible, which uses the interface with DCS to set vibration levels, etc per DCS outputs; save the audio for, well, speakers (in the 20-20k Hz audible range) for your ears.  Much better experience in my opinion.

I strongly think the solution is about DCS sound settings, and it has nothing to do with the buttkicker or associated software.

I just wanted to pipe in and say I just received a ThrustMaster F18C stick ordered from Thrusmaster on Amazon and the castle hat up was stuck on (button #7). Couldn't get it to disengage or work in anyway, so this is still an issue apparently. Glad it was out of the box. Sending it back. Not disassembling a new stick.

After talking with Amazon customer service, they said they couldn't even offer a replacement; either I had to just take the refund or be put into contact with Thrustmaster, whom they said have very strict inventory controls. Needless to say, I took a refund.

Any other suggestions besides the F18 stick that would work with a Thrustmaster Warthog &/or Magnetic Base?  Have the F16/A10 stick, WH throttle and TPR. Wanted a new stick, but I have to say, didn't like the feel of the F18C grip anyway, so I kind of feel 'lucky' for lack of a better word. I suppose I would've gotten used to it.

    Just fyi.

Same happened to mine an TM paid a replacement, sent the unit to France.
It was time ago, but it is sad seeing Customer support diluting.

  6. Call the menu using your hotas UHF/VHF keybind as usual.
Then you have two basic options:
    A) find the proper F function key blindy, which you can do by tactile and muscle memory

    B) use your mouse/trackball, move the cursor to the upper right area, once the blue crosshair disappears, it becomes a white dot. Click over the desired option.

    It´s that easy.

The jet doesn't just check if those stations are powered on?

Also, wing tanks with lots of fuel seems like Cat3.  If 500lb bombs on the inner wing pylons triggers cat 3, fuel tanks weighing 4x as much should, unless there's something really really different about the way they are attached.  Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Also, some of you have managed to get the plane to depart in the wrong stores cat in DCS?

And you just have to keep resetting the master caution when you have just TGP and jet wants cat 1?  Does the Sniper handle Cat1?  I still don't understand if it has more to do with CG or total weight.  Both?  G-load of the stores/hardpoint combos?

Side topic:  In 2024 the USAF doesn't have an updated flight control software that takes stores into account for G limiting?  A warning like in the F-15?  Anything?

My guess is the intake attaching points aren´t wired for those checks, simple as that.
The very same not every item for the inventory works on every station.

Where could one find good jetseat settings for the F-14? cant seem to get the numbers right. Anyone care to share some data?

You could also try Simshaker for Aviators discord, there is a specific subchannel to share settings.
These are mine, but there are many factors involved.

Anyone who knows if Simshaker for aviators can coexist with Matric?

The test in sound module works as it should (got license) but the “Current aircraft” in DCS doesn’t show up in Simshaker, nor does the shakers work from DCS.
I think it stopped working upon installation of Matric (keyboard emulator), but I’m not 100% sure. Can’t find any info if they can coexist or not.
    Matric: https://matricapp.com/#support

Maybe your export.lua file was modified to add the Matric?

With SSA you can run 6 motors. The NLR software uses the 8 motors of the HF8.

I run it with SSA. I like the helicopter specific effects and can run it simultanously with buttkicker bassshakers.

Hour did you setup your 3 bass shakers?

I have 2 shakers fed from a single Amp nicely placed in the rudder pedal plate

What's your soundcard for the shakers? Amp? Location of shakers around your pit

😅 I don’t know how to tell you…. I think you were scammed. Where do you think the remaining 4 channels are going to connect to? 😬

LOL Looks like the board inside is able to provide multiple outputs, but it´s capped somehow to 2 channel only in order to create a smaller, cheaper device.
    Thanks!

Looks like just 2 channels sound card and not 5.1.

thanks!! Looking for a different external soundcard now.

There's hope for the Viper - they've allegedly been working on it alongside the Hornet pilot model. But I'm losing hope of the A-10C II getting a virtual pilot.

Maybe in the v3 paid module?!

I can´t think of a reason for not to include it in the current version.
Besides, what other module upgrades could the offer to support a new paid version? I don´t think that´s ED way of doing things.

quick question @Hiob, how do you set the threshold?  Thanks.

It´s under the Special Options tab of SimShaker for Aviators

ASIO drivers is mostly in the past for SimShaker software, quite optional now. You'd better avoid it if possible.

Any 5.1 or 7.1 capable sound card would fit I suppose.
I use Sound Blaster 5.1 USB sound card at the moment.

    No Asio drivers then, ok.
However, this is my USB external 5.1 sound card with just one output. Is it doable? Or I need one with several outputs?

Well I guess I see the problem... my "sound card" (soundblaster play 3) ont has one output. I mistakenly saw the y-cable as 2 outputs. Dumb me.

So the next question is, what multi output external/sb soundcards do you all recommend??

Unless I'm mistaken, it's possible even with a 5.1/7.1 soundcard, even though it's only one wire.

Following closely this discussion because I have a similar setup 😉

Thx for the help Andre.  I now have 2.37 for the Module.  But, I think my issue has more to do with my hardware setup.  So, appreciate anyone trying to help here...  The question is around how to use multiple amps for different transducers.

When i go to Sound Module and "test shakers one by one"... I really only feel the main buttkicker below my seat. 1 & 2 have strong bass; 3 & 4 have SUPER strong bass; 5& 6 have soft bass.  Nothing really going to those front 2 pucks.

And... even if I reduce gain for each channel, there is no change to how things feel.

    image.png

so you have a 6 channel soundcard. But only one wire from that soundcard outputs to the amp? you might need ASIO drivers.
