  1. The Supercarrier was an important module for DCS and yet we are here 4 years in with no deliverables at all except night wands and spooky crew at Halloween, and plenty of empty promise's that are now being put back even more as its said at needs Vulcan. As much as I want to fly the Hook after reading the FAQ, I feel this will be another SC with a long wait for the items in that FAQ, so far ED seems to have a lot on its plate with promises made in this years news letters, Air ground munitions, Dynamic campaign weather system updates, ECM, ATC, in game radio, ground AI updates, and much more, plus we have older modules still in EA with no updates. (not in the news letters) If the logistics is high priority is it higher than adding the missing promised features to the SC, where does it sit in the que ??
  2. This is exactly how I play on our DCSNZA servers, our group have been running the excellent Pretense and Foothold missions with CTLD for well on 3 years now. but just looking at the game as a whole, it's a pretty amazing achievement. I think it runs great and looks good. But it's lacking engaging features, this is where ED needs to step up and add loads of much needed core features to the game so the mission designers and scripters can make the game part of the simulation must more fun and easy to achieve. I am so grateful the community has made workarounds for a lot of the pitfalls of DCS.
  3. Spot on and a great post, this should read as a feature list to what the Hook can do when released, although this is core game play it would help us buy it, this would be perfect also for UH1H and Mi8 with limited ability for the Mi24
  4. I know what it is, they stated that, my comments are what's its going to add to DCS with a feature list that they didn't add yet. My understanding is all it will be able to do is sling loading and at least that should be available at release (but who knows), as ED have no logistic support in DCS, we only have 3rd party's supply scripts that allow this to be done (CTLD), well currently know a lot of scripters who are giving up on the scripting side and leaving as ED supply's no support to them for that part of DCS, without the scripting guys DCS missions would be a hollow world. The other transport helos in DCS also have multiple weapon loads out that can attached to them in the form or rockets and bombs and forward firing guns the Hook wont have this at all. I like the Hook enough to fly it but ill stand by not buying it with the very limited information given, I have 3 other helos that can do logistics already.
  5. Quick question as I'm unsure, does anyone know if any of the DCS helos can do logistics in the mission editor using just EDs work, does ED have that function in the core game now. ? Does the mission need to use 3rd party scripts to get helos to do logistics ??. If it needs 3rd party scripting to get logistics in any mission SP/MP, if ED does not include a new logistics model in the feature list for the Chinook pre order then all they are really selling is a flying module with nothing it can do really. Im really looking forward to seeing whats going to be included in EA
  6. Im not denying that NL you guys are busy I know, but the discussion you had that I saw on r/Hoggit was way more in depth on the AI ground snipper topic than I have seen in here in a long time, its just an observation its not a dig, I would have thought this would be the primary place to discuss DCS topics and get help or info on items in DCS from official ED people.
  7. It really is the first EA I have not purchased in 10 years with the limited info given today in the news about it, I already have the F4E and full Afghan map on pre order and was realy hanging out for this helo, I was excited to see the news until I saw this. Highly detailed external and internal modelling, including cockpit and cargo hold Unmatched helicopter flight dynamics that only DCS can provide Fully interactive, VR-ready cockpit I mean that's a bare min for any module even not released and just for internal testing 10 weeks out from the said proposed release date in the trailer and either they don't know what features it will have in the DCS world or are really not willing to tell us ??. Realistically its a logistics chopper so we know what to somewhat expect in DCS but this needs to expand that role in the DCS world of logistics with the likes of it being a mobile Farp (Fat Cow) seeing logistics in side the chopper which was shown in a screen shot and some more, this means base code needs to be added to the logistics core part of the game to support that. I'm really at a loss as to why this information cant be told to us, they will know what's its intended use is and should have a least a baseline list of features for this module that were in place when it was decided to develop it, or what was the point of adding it to the DCS world, to just fly about ??
  8. Until that's listed I'm not buying it in EA, honestly this should be front and centre now, how can you expect people to buy it not knowing what they're going to get. Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk
  9. I didn't either I thought this was the place the Devs would interact more and tell us about how the Sim works with updates, and interact with questions about bugs and stuff, but I definitely saw more interaction on r/hoggit in my first foray in there yesterday Sent from my TB350FU using Tapatalk
  10. I was just on r/hoggit and saw a post about the god like AI ground accuracy, NL joined the conversation and gave some great replies to questions asked, it was informative and nice to see. I have never seen that here much, it feels like it's just users discussing the topics posted until either a community manager comes to get it back on topic or lock the topic down. Why does r/hoggit get more engagement and seems to be given development from ED staff than here. ?? This is not a dig at BN or NL I'm just curious as this is an official ED forum. 11. I love the WW2 PTO and have been hankering for new game ever since the Micropose 1942 PAW. My questions would be what other Ai or flyable assets will there be to flesh this out, so far we know F6F, Corsair, ai Zero, wil we get the Dauntless, TBF Avenger, what about the INJ air side its going to need torpedo and dive bombers, ill look forward to more news but I really hope that ED will make the 1944 PTO have the correct period planes and assests. Pics look good so far for a work in Progress
  12. Thanks I couldn't find it on my phone Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk
  13. As the title says no news discussion Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk
  14. Was great to see a hotfix for the 1688 issue, thanks ED
  15. Mention what that the units under trees still cant be killed with this effect in place ?? The effect is great but there is no realism attached to it if units under the trees cant be killed, its just eye candy for now
  16. Yep it sure does it looks great, but units under the trees still cant be killed without very skilled or creative shots.
  17. Played some time on our 3 servers this afternoon and evening (6 hrs worth) every thing seemed very smooth and VR was really nice on Syria in a heavy Pretense mission, I know this wont be popular but I cant say I saw anything outstanding that was worth waiting 7 weeks for the patch really as the fixed bug list was very short, the F16 laser 1688 code bug has quite a few of our pilots annoyed as our JTAC drones in the mission use 1588 and quite a few are still encountering CTDs when looking at the F10 map view (all crash logs being sent in through the crash log menu) I flew the Apache with George but its hard to know what fine tuning he had without any feedback from ED, I cant say I noticed any difference in his behavior and all seemed normal. I saw the new blast while low and yes the effect looks cool when down low but the guys in the planes didn't see much unless they F6 viewed the bomb, I think its more for cinematic (Youtubers) use, not sure it really adds anything at this stage to game play but hope it does in the future, units were still protected by the invincible tree shield if they moved into big tree areas and whilst the blast affect was cool to watch the units stayed alive. Well carry on to the next patch I guess, hoping it brings more to the gameplay side of the game.
  18. Wow we got a big patch fix for the Yak today Shame they didn't fix the radio bug instead thats been reported by many users here, would have been more a more useful fix.
  19. There was no mention of it, are you sure I would have thought it would be important to point this out ??. Thanks
  20. DCS: Yak-52 by Eagle Dynamics FIXED: Reflections too strong under flashlight My new fav patch fix ;) Doesn't seem like a lot of love for Apache bugs in this patch though. No fixed for the F10 map CTDs ?? when switching between it when flying. Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk
  21. Cfag great missions mate our group is loving it. I have a question how do I hide the units and smoke markers showing on the F10 map, I cant seems to find them when trying to edit the mission, I have hidden all the Farp assets and no essential items (which is how our guys like the map to look) but just cant find those items I mentioned. Also do new rescue missions auto generate like your Angels missions. ?? Cheers
  22. Wouldn't the business decision to make the module in the first place ,mean your committed to completing it and that in itself is a commitment to your customers who purchase it, this goes for any module Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk
  23. Man the excuses that are being posted about the lack of available manpower for the small Yak issues that need fixing are very telling. I purchased it using the same decision as I purchased the F18, F16, SC, and many more ED module, that I would get a complete and working module at some point, at this point its still EA and the F16 isn't, which is more complex. I don't care if it was a private product released to us, I don't care if you don't have enough manpower to fix it, that's not my issue that's your issue as a company, you took on the project, you sold it with features and into the DCS eco system, your still selling it, you should complete it or at least fix bugs that have been listed and not fixed for years. Stop working on the F6F/E for 3 months and fix the Yak, we don't have that plane yet so its made you no money, wont harm anyone to wait another 3 months for a plane not released. At this stage I,m regretting my pre purchase of the Afghan map and really will consider all my purchases of ED modules in the future seeing how the community mangers engage with long term customers when asked about certain products.
  24. Sorry BN, he mentioned it was not early access, I pointed out it still was. But really if ED is so aware of the bugs that affect the Yak52 why don't ED just fix them instead of asking for more bug reports on bugs that have posted and report a long time ago and finish the Yak52 off and remove it from EA, agreed they are not game breaking but are annoying at best to me and I'm your customer who purchased it in good faith, and still like to fly it, warts and all.
  25. Thanks for replying NL, but the the Yak is still early access according to your web site There are still very active bug reports on items broken on the Yak52 with no attention too them at all, I'm sure you have logs with reports about bugs and broken stuff, well at least ED should if they are actively tracking bugs. null
