  1. The Aerosoft F-14X does have an auto-sweep bind. Do you use FSUIPC?
  2. You’re not alone Wizard. I made a similar post before. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=221818&page=2 It’s evident we all have a different idea of what we would like the product to represent. Aerosoft did a great job representing the F-14A and B throughout the span of her career with options that the user can select which HUD to use or whether the flight model reflects an analogue, with or without the ARI, or digital FCS. Heatblur’s version looks like it will be an amazing product and I couldn’t be happier that the F-14 is coming out for DCS.
  3. Why spend the time and energy to make a D only to leave the IRST functionality out? If that was the case, it would make more sense to make the B upgrade. Throw in the Sparrowhawk HUD upfront, a PTID in the back, some DFCS magic and you got the B upgrade. The exterior model is pretty much complete. There would not be a need to update the chin pod to a D model to include a system that would not function. In addition, the cockpit would require a significant change to turn it into a D, not so for the B upgrade.
  4. The A and B models were upgraded and had DFCS also.
  5. Good eye JCData, the sweep speed is slow in that video compared to the real thing.
  6. Hey Punk! I do have the handle in the pit but don't have it hooked to a switch yet. How are you doing? Take it easy on that ankle!
  7. I used 1/4" MDF for the main portion of the front panel
  8. I used 1/2" MDF for the original Akers/Barnes simpit. It is definitely rigid enough for the seat pan and support.
  9. That's a great idea! I may be able to contribute a little bit too. Here's a pic as I was wiring up the front panel and before installing the 7" Lilliput monitors. and one during a test fit
  10. I contacted the company a while ago to inquire about the throttle as I am building a Tomcat simpit. The price was way above what I had anticipated and out of my range, if I recall $1500 USD. I would love to have it, but I'll stick with my Warthog for now.
  11. When I decided which model to build it was easy. The B has always been my favorite. Building the A’s armament panel would have been more work for sure. I’m all about the GE motors, DFCS, Sparrowhawk HUD and PTID. I know it’s a long shot but if Heatblur is listening, I really hope that development continues and a 2001-2005 B upgrade will be part of the package at some point down the road. A kidney, arm/leg, first born son, whatever the price, just name it:lol:
  12. From everything I've read, the F-14B did not receive a digital bus until Operation Flight Program 317 (OFP317) was delivered to the fleet in 1997. Included in the OFP317 upgrade was the PTID. It appears they converted the digital signal to analogue from the time the tests started to incorporate the LANTIRN with the F-14 in 1995 until the upgrade of OFP317 in 1997.
  13. The F-14B has always been my favorite variant of my favorite airplane. Like many of you I am excited for this release. I just hope Heatblur will continue development of the B model after release and incorporate the Sparrowhawk HUD somewhere down the line.
  14. Nice work gents! Dino Might, I really like those panels! I started my Tomcat pit in 2013. Here's a link to my build. http://hornetpits.org/index.php?topic=179.0 I am currently using it with P3D and the Aerosoft Tomcat. I am just getting in to DCS and trying to find my way of how to incorporate hardware with the sim. I will definitely follow this topic and look forward to the updates.
  15. I’m really interested in the Jetseat SE. Has anyone put one in an Akers-Barnes pit yet? Wondering how the fit is. Thanks, Bill
