  1. Hi all, is ATT working correctly in the stable version (non beta)? I like the DLSS improvements, but I would rather have a functioning HELO.
  2. I have set this bird to the side for a few months now. I hope they get it right soon. The UH-1H and KA-50 are so much fun to fly and enjoy their different characteristics...gives me hope that eventually they will get there with the Apache.
  3. Interesting topic... I have always liked the Apache dating back to Janes Longbow... But in DCS, the KA-50 is more polished and super stable. Its hover modes etc, allow you to literally park this thing in the sky and handle business weapon wise, the "auto turn" to target is awesome. I just don't like the way DCS chose to handle the trim / stable modes in the Apache (it is so unstable). The huey seems more stable... I also don't like the George implementation. Flying as the pilot, it is too much babysitting George and he seemingly takes no real initiative (I mean, on a target list showing units in a convoy, do I really need to scroll down to the greatest threat myself? George should be able to prioritize to some degree....list most dangerous targets first etc.). Also, the target list seems clumsy, and I should be able to assign multiple targets (or a target queue) without selecting "one by one" all over again. In short, with a gunner in the Apache, I would expect less workload than in the KA-50 by myself. However, I am experiencing just the opposite. I realize that the Apache is in early access etc. and will improve. But for now, it is the KA-50 for me, looking forward to the new version.
  4. I agree here, full Virpil setup as well (stick, throttle, rudder). Even when engaging the ATT Hold (with no other Trim Set) and holding rudder direction with pedals for stability, I sometimes lose rudder control when disengaging ATT Hold). There is some rudder error involved independent of the different types of options for rudder force trim (as I have mine set off, and just use ATT HOLD and manually use pedals to hold rudder). Hover mode just bobs back and forth trying to find the center / stable hold. Also, I get the Heli lurching to the left at odd times when in ATT Hold. ALT hold does not work for me at all. I will just have to give it more time for updates, but the current issues just ruin the gameplay. The Heli seems so unstable despite all of these systems.

  6. But things worked fine before recent updates.... The miniguns have hardly any effect on transport / jeep / light armored vehicles now, which makes the Huey useless with combat missions. So a customer can pay for a product that works in general, then have the DEV break it in a future update, then make the customer wait months for a fix, and all the Dev can say is "thank you."
  7. If the flight log registers 100+ hits on a jeep with no destruction...then I think we can rule accuracy out. I, like others, have seen a complete change in the amount of damage caused by the miniguns. I used to get the results that you showed in your vid...that is no longer the case after recent updates. If it works fine your end, great. Others are experiencing different results.
  8. I do not get the same results that you demonstrate in your vid. I have a custom mission where I could (in the past) take out a convoy of 12 transport vehicles using 3 Hueys with no problem. Now, after using all of my ammo (Copilot, LG and RG), and 2 AI Hueys, I can longer take out the same convoy with the flight log registering over 100 hits on a single unit without a kill. Something changed recently as another poster stated. So it may work on your end, but that does not disqualify the issues that others are seeing on their end.
  9. I agree with others who attribute the issue to the short throw on the average joystick. If you go into the Axis Tune setting for both the Pitch and Roll axis, you can dampen the output of your joystick. Below are my User Curve settings... 0 : 5 : 10 : 15 : 20 : 25 : 30 : 40 : 60 : 80 : 100 With these settings and my CH Fighterstick, the Huey is pretty stable.
  10. At what point did it break? I just fired up the Huey in DCS after about 8 months and the miniguns seems to have no effect on a small target (speedboat, jeeps etc). This wasn't the case before, so something changed recently. Why would this not be a priority given that it worked before? Missions in the Huey are unplayable at this point.
  11. I have a custom mission with 3 UH-1Hs (me and 2 wingmen) attacking armed speedboats....before they reach an oil rig. All UH-1Hs are equipped with miniguns....front and both sides. I pilot the UH-1H and let the AI do all of the shooting, along with the my 2 AI Hueys. In the past, Me and the 2 helos could take out 15 speedboats with no problem. I haven't played DCS for about 8 months or so....until yesterday. Now, I can barely destroy 4 speedboats using all of my ammo, and with my 2 AI Hueys firing as well. In one session, I was destroyed after using all of my ammo, I let the mission continue to count about 10 speedboats left and my 2 AI Hueys trading shots until everyone ran out of ammo. So either the AI aiming has become very bad, or the speedboats gained extra armor over the past 8 months. In the past, I have played this mission over 20 times with the "15" speedboats and barely come away with a scratch, now I can barely deal with 5 speedboats, and take heavy damage along with my 2 AI Hueys. I tracked the hit log for two of the speedboats, below. Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62mm Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62 mm (36) Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62mm Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62mm (2) Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62mm (5) Speedboat 003 ---> Hit 7.62mm (18) Speedboat 003 ---> Kill 7.62mm Speedboat 001 ---> Hit 7.62mm (16) Speedboat 001 ---> Hit 7.62mm (24) Speedboat 001 ---> Kill 7.62mm Has there been any changes to damage / AI model that could have caused such a drastic change in how the enemy AI takes damage?
  12. When I enable SSAA, I lose Vsync in the game. The Vsync option is still checked, but it no longer works. PC specs: i7 with GTX 1080
  13. I am thinking about the PG map, however, in looking at the NTTR map, the Vegas buildings/houses and tree view distance is very small, even on the extreme setting. The Caucas map seems to show a much farther object view; especially for trees, and its the free map. Does the PG map suffer from this same limited view as NTTR (for buildings) around the aircraft?

  15. Hi, When selecting the SSAA option, I have ground shimmering (not stutters). The sim runs smooth, but I have waves going through the screen. Vsync is on, I see this on both the Caucas and Nevada maps (worse on Nevada). Can someone help, SSAA looks very good and I don't want to fly without it?
