  1. thebmanz has kindly uploaded an alternative link Civil Aircraft Mod.rar Civil Aircraft Mod
  2. Hi MingGe (Cao990) Thanks for sharing your great mods - very appreciated Look forward to the rest. I especially like the Bison Hovercraft, based on the Russian Zubr Hovercraft - I have been waiting a while for someone to mod this - so thanks again I did a quick hack of the various nations that operated it - USSR, Russia, Ukraine & Greece & have attached below (just drop into the mod Livery folder or the main game Livery folder) Chinese Bison hovercraft 3260.zip
  3. Apologies, I see that now. I had just sorted my 403 error out, by finding that thread. Further on says the following: you should contact support directly if you get the 403 error and if steam is not bound to stand alone. Please contact technical support here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/ or email support@digitalcombatsimulator.com The guide below will help you provide the data needed. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/support_ticket/ Thank you Eagle Dynamic
  4. Seems its a binding issue between your steam & stand alone DCS. Steam auth error 403 Discussion.
  5. Cheers for the great technical layouts - very helpful ak47freak has now released his mod of the Mulberrys in the User Files section: Mulberry Harbor Assets See there are 2 threads on the topic, both with good info & pics - maybe admin can merge topics?
  6. Thanks for the great pics. If you haven't seen already, ak47freak has now released his mod of the Mulberrys in the User Files section: Mulberry Harbor Assets. Huge thanks to him & the other modders, like Hawkeye60, who look after the WWII community
  7. Hi Eduardo Strange? The version I downloaded seems to work correctly - just check the LPD_Foundre.lua file, found under Database/ Navy folder. At the bottom should read: GT.Countries = { "France", "Brazil", "Chile", }; If not, just add the countries you want or block with -- before, to show under ALL countries e.g. -- GT.Countries = { "France", "Brazil", "Chile", };
  8. T-Pap created some great static Cold War Mods V Bomber Pack - Avro Vulcan & Victor STATIC objects by T-Pap
  9. ...you have a day job Currenthill?!! We all thought you worked 24/7 on creating mods for DSC? Anyway thanks for all your amazing work you do for the DCS community How we imagined you
  10. No worries Check your PM (Personal Messages)
  11. Hi Ironghost Beldin is working on it, but still in testing - by the looks of it. Here is the thread link: Ford Class Carrier MOD
  12. Hi Snacko If I think I understand what you are asking In the User Files section, select the following: Type = Skin (you probably worked that out already ) Unit = Vehicle (Scroll down to near the bottom) This will bring back skins for Vehicles, Ships etc. = Other (Also near the bottom) Mainly AI aircraft Date (From) = Set this back a few mths or years to get a bigger selection, normally defaults to a few mths & might miss some the older goodies In this liveries section also check out the following threads: AI Aircraft for AI Aircraft Combined Arms for AI Ground/Sea units Hope this helps
  13. Thanks Gregory Shame - at least can offer him a treat of some apples from the back of the cart
  14. Hi Gregory Firstly, thanks again for all your hard work in creating mods for the community - especially for the WWII era, can't have enough of those Would be great to have horse drawn Artillery - most German artillery was towed by 2 to 8 horses (depending on size of the arty), plus an ammo wagon, in between. Germany horse drawn artillery (LE FH 105mm) A German cook wagon (an army marches on its stomach ) German supply & medical wagons I really enjoy the ground fighting perceptive of DCS with the CA & WWII Assets mods, but the latter is fairly limited & needs more mods like these. Also adds targets for strafing like happened in the terrible carnage of The Falaise Gap in the Normandy breakout of Aug 1944. Glad you have an animation for the horse, but front right leg might be a bit lame (hope he doesn't need to be put down ) Dweeeeb's excellent WWI mod includes a great British cavalry figure that is animated, creates a dust trail, but also has a nice sound file ( galloping & neighing sounds) Maybe you could add a unique sound file to add to immersion to your mod (I think it currently has the generic truck sounds) Dweeeeb's WW 1 mod Link: WW 1 DCS World FULL RELEASE
  15. Hi SkateZilla Thanks for replying & explaining - good to learn new things (or re-learn old things ) Haven't used ModelViewer in a while & was always used to the Liveries Tool popping out as a new window (and being very visible), when selecting in the Tools menu or pressing ctrl+L. Forgot it could be tucked away & searched for a solution - when it wasn't popping out for me on selection, when I came across poor Ziramond's "16 million times" post. Related to his frustration
  16. Hi rwbishUP I'm still a total noob at livery creation - but have being trying to learn the process & understand your frustration. I am also learning by editing vehicle liveries i.e. adding decals & colourizing existing liveries etc. Looks like you know how to extract & edit the texture files to create the new liveries, in this case the Smerch (RSZO_SMERCH_Base.dds) To create the description.lua you need to load the model in the ModelViewer2 & extract the description.lua from there. ModelViewer2.exe can be found in the main DCS folder e.g. DCSworld/ bin/ ModelViewer2.exe Can take a little while to load, once loaded go to "File" & "Load Model", navigate to the model.edm you want. Most modern vehicles can be found in DCSworld / Bazar/ World/ Shapes/ Smerch.edm (this is for the specific Smerch model you want) Once the model is loaded you press L Shift + L Cntrl + L Alt + G This will bring up a dialogue box to save the description.lua - choose a place to save to & open with text editor (e.g. Notebook, Notebook++) You now have the full description.lua for all the textures & roughmets etc - but in your case you only need the text for the one you have edited "rszo_smerch_base" This is at the top, so you can delete all other text between the brackets { } so that you are left with: livery = { {"Rszo_SMERCH", DIFFUSE, "rszo_smerch_base", false}; } A very rough description of what the text means, from left to right: "Rszo_SMERCH", this is the name of the file DIFFUSE, this is the type of texture "rszo_smerch_base", this is the dds file name (one you edited) false}; this tell the lua to use the file or not (false=yes, true=no) Lastly you need to create the Livery Folder Name to add the various liveries you have created (in sub folders) with the dds texture & description.lua. inside each one. This is usually the texture name, in this case smerch_9K58. So in the Liveries folder you will add a folder smerch_9K58 & within that you can add your various livery sub folders (e.g.Kuwaiti, Armenian etc) The livery description in game will read this sub folder as the description. For simplicity, you can keep the same dds texture description ("rszo_smerch_base",) & just drop each of your edited textures into each sub folder, with same description.lua. To help, I have attached the smerch_9K58. livery folder with a Sub folder called "Test 1" with an existing dds texture & description.lua, which you can use to simply drop your rszo_smerch_base.dds textures in for livery you have already created - just create a copy of the "Test 1" for each & re-name to what you want. Also a link to a helpful video: DCS Custom Livery Creation | The Basics by Ditch3r Hope this helps smerch_9K58.zip
  17. Thanks so much Admiral - love your work Especially the Amphibious assets and the smaller vessels - adds to the immersion of combined amphibious assault missions, and great asset for the South Atlantic map. I did a very quick hack for different camo schemes for myself of the LCVP Mk5 & LCU Mk10, also for the LCVP Mk5's mounted on the HMS Albion (all non historical ) Includes Original Brown, alternate Brown, Green & Grey schemes. Have shared for those how might want (hope you don't mind, Admiral?) Drop into the main DCS Liveries folder or can add to the specific mods Liveries folders (E.G. .../HMS Albion_Support Craft/ Liveries/ HMS_Albion L14/ ...) Need to add the Liveries folder for the support craft & add in. Liveries.zip
  18. Old post - but I had the same issue & was just as frustrated. Seems deleting the folder edModelViewerTrunk under your Saved Games folder & restarting the Modelviewer cured this for me. Hope this helps any other aspiring liveries creators out there
  19. Wow a Me-110 - very exciting Are you able to add a version with out antenna's for BOB missions? Either way, really looking forward Sally will be great for the long awaited WWII version of Marian's map, as well. Thanks in advance
  20. Interesting - thanks for elaborating & explaining. Suppose its makes sense to paint non military colours to make them look less like targets Thanks for your great mods - really useful for mission builders - love your work
  21. Awesome - can never have enough amphibious ship assets . Especially, thanks for also doing the accompanying landing craft - very useful for Falklands/ Malvinas War re-creation. Just missing the Fearless-class LPD's (HMS Fearless & Intrepid). Was hoping Razbam were going to add to their South Atlantic assets pack? Maybe can add to the back of your very long list of requests
  22. When your economy is struggling - you have to sometimes buy the cheapest paint - no matter the colour!
  23. Thanks for update PeeJott - very much appreciated. Excuse our eagerness - this is such an anticipated mod, especially with Sinai map release You guys at VSN bring us so many great mods - fully appreciate everything you create & share (for FREE) - whenever they come out. Big thanks for all mods you have already released & patiently waiting for everything coming out going forward
  24. Admiral thanks so much for your selfless dedication to bringing us all these great ship mods from your one man shipyard - very much appreciated. Hope you are feeling better. Enoy & DJReonic, you can add your own tags / naming convention by editing this line in the lua file GT.DisplayName = _(" ") The text between the brackets & quotations _(" ") is what is displayed in the mission editor & in game - if you use labels (FULL) For example, with Admiral's latest USS Lewis Puller ESB-3 mod, the description is GT.DisplayName = _("USS_Lewis_Puller ESB-3"), you can edit this to what you want e.g. _("[ADM] USS_Lewis_Puller ESB-3") Just edit the text within the quotations " ", I've provided the whole text, just for context. Where to find lua? Usually found in the main folder or Database sub folder & has the file extension .lua File is normally named for the mod or close, I wouldn't touch the other files - if there are any (e.g. weapons etc.) For the USS Lewis Puller ESB-3 mod the ship's lua is actually within a sub folder of the Database folder called Navy, named USS_Lewis_Puller ESB-3.lua How to edit lua? Maybe create a copy of lua, before you edit - just in case. Can open with any text editor (Notepad or Notepad++) Use "Find" function to search for GT.DisplayName = Edit name, as per above & save. Load mod & enjoy. Sample of line in USS_Lewis_Puller ESB-3.lua to edit (highlighted blue) Personally I set up naming structure as Nation / Ship Class / Description / Author e.g. _("USS ESB-3 Lewis Puller [Admiral]") , but that's because I've edited all mods (>500!) & DCS descriptions, so they stack according to my preference in the mission builder & Encyclopedia. Please don't worry - I am seeking help for this affliction But does create order in the Mission Editor & Encyclopedia, and once you start you can't stop! Apologies for long explanation, but I am an Idiot & appreciate the "Idiots guide" approach to learning things for myself - but hope it helps
  25. Hi Eight Ball Firstly - thanks very much for all your wonderful mods, they are so innovative and clever - its an inspiration to use them in mission creation. I love your ground & sea mods with their unique viewer perspective to enjoy DCS from a different interactive mode. I know you are super busy creating these great mods - but if you ever got round to adding a WWII component to this mod - here is some inspiration / material: Would make sense to mainly add German vehicles especially for new Normandy 2.0 map, as targets for P-47, Mosquito etc. What is the ED policy on using their models, i.e. adding the existing WWII tanks onto the rail flatbeds - or is this a no no? There are existing FLAK wagons in game, but not yet implemented by ED, not sure why - as have been in game for over a year - but not usable yet? When they get implemented, would be great to add to your potential mod to make targets that bites back! dr_50ton_flat_wagon_flak18 dr_50ton_flat_wagon_flak30 dr_50ton_flat_wagon_flak38 VIDEO: Some video of US WWII train attacks : American warplanes strafing enemy trains during World War Two Video of German tank movement by rail: Railway Transportation of a Panzer Division Took up to 80 trains of 55 wagons each. to transport one German Panzer division during WWII BOOKS: I read an excellent book by Richard Freiherr von Rosen called Panzer Ace: The Memoirs of an Iron Cross Panzer Commander from Barbarossa to Normandy, where he describes an attack by P47s on his Tiger II unit (PzAbt503) while offloading from rail cars near the Normandy front (Aug 1944) PICS
