Delete fxo and metashaders see if that helps, and if not Roll back to your previous driver...

yes they did that. did the OP use DDU to uninstall the nvidia drivers and did you remove some of the bloatware from the nvidia drivers? yes rollback just because there isanew driver does not mena it is the best..

Who at Pimax thought that removing the eye tracking was what people were asking for?

well I for one was asking for it.. it is good to have options and if you want eyetracking get the Crystal for me I will take the light version any day..

Without DFR you will need a 4090 to run the light version. If I could afford a 4090 rig then I would most likely go for a crystal or crystal super.

I know you  you will not need a 4090 you would just need to lower the resolution like I do currently with the G2.. I still don't like or need DFR..

I use a 2080ti and before that had a 1080ti. they work just fine no need to have top tier but I guess if your not poor you would not know that 😉

Deal breaker for me too. I will just stick with my G2 until the 5090rtx comes out and I upgrade my machine and see what is available then.

well for poor users like me this option left out which makes it more cost effective.. I personnelly see no need for eyetracking..

  6. Well I know for sure that windows 10 does not know how to handle your AMD 3d CPU cores. you may need to get Process Lasso and assign the proper cores to the game.

I seen this issue a few times on the forums perhpas do a search for your CPU and PL to find the relevant thread to see exactly what you need to do to get it working..

What's weird to me is that restart doesn't fix the problem but shutting down does 🤔.  I am far from expert on Windows but my understanding is that restart should "clean up" windows more than a complete shut down (which is more like a suspend except that it powers the hardware down) these days.

yes that is wierd, noit sure what was going on with that tho??

  8. so this sounds like Photoshop hogging resources and not resetting itself like it should after you shut it off. I think you found the fix either play on a secondary PC where you dont use photoshop on and just use for gaming or just shut off the PC and restart before running DCS..

Have you checked your PC's resources after a heavy photoshop session to see where you stand I am thinking maybe Photoshop uses all the memory and when you turn if off and start DCS there are not enough resources to get DCS going hence why a shutdown ad restart seems to fix it..

IS that file you uploaded a log file or trk file?? any reason you zipped it?

This is not DCS fault but something photoshop is doing.. I checked your mod link I thought they might be mods you run but they are mods you made they looked pretty cool I may try the Viggen sound mod thank you 😉

Nah I dont think so that log might be the wrong one, but thanks, I can always resent a new one showing 5.1 is actually selected.

DOES 5.1 SOUND WORK FOR ANYONE HERE?

well above that it does state 5.1 is selected but stereo for some reason was forced on.. you can just attatch the log file no need to post the entire log like you do 😉

here is the entire line. as you can see 5.1 is being reported but 2.0 is being enforced.. I would check which device you are using in Windows I would say it is selecting your headphones and not the 5.1 system..

Thank you to @The_Nephilim for taking the time to look through my log. I've run several benchmarks and apparently my system is pretty good for its spec. The page file thing is a new one for me. Something else to fiddle with in the war against stutters.

In the meantime it seems I have made some very significant improvement. The prolonged and most objectional stutters seem to be gone and the frequency of the micro stutters seems to be down from about one every ten seconds average to just occasional, so still a bit annoying but no longer hideous. Unfortunately my expectations from recent tinkering were pretty much zero and I stopped being methodical and trying one thing at a time. I did a load of stuff together and don't know what exactly is the significant bit.

In a fit of disgust I deleted DCS completely, intending to never play it again. Everything went, game, saved games, control mapping, the lot. I think the level of disgust might be an important factor here as it really makes you want to get rid of every last vestige of the game. The next day the thought of never flying the Mosquito (even though ED have totally screwed up its ground handling), or the Skyhawk, or the FW190 was too much and I installed it all again. I've done a load of cleans and repairs before and my installation wasn't very old but maybe a good ol' clean out and reload reaches the parts that clean and repairs don't.

While it was downloading I found there is a new Nvidea driver so I updated to that.

Then I went through the stuff suggested by @Flappie in this thread and copied as many of them as I could. I've been through this before but did it again. The bit about HPET seemed a bit scary so I kept away from that.

There's also a VR prerendered frames setting in Nvidea which sounds like the sort of thing that might reduce stuttering but doesn't. I had it set to 3 and changed it back to 1.

I uninstalled Process Lassoo. There has been much talk of core management issues but I think a lot of it only relates to Intel CPUs. I never got any improvement from my AMD so I got rid of Lassoo and any botch up settings I might have made.

I've also done something with Windows power management. Not sure what I've done but my PC now just restarts when told to shut down so I've obviously screwed something up. I had this service disabled previously with no noticeable effect. I re-enabled it and set everything to max performance but seem to have done something more to it.

And the result of all this is like a night and day improvement. Definitely not just a hopeful placebo effect. Almost no stutters in menus or when paused, and just a few dropped frames in game, usually when something happens like fire a weapon or look around quickly. For the first time I feel like I'm actually seeing the sort of results that my expensive system should be capable of. Got the eye candy dialled up now, shadows, AA, clouds, textures all up and still running pretty smoothly. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Well it could have been a corrupted install, that does happen but usually if there is a problem elsewhere.. sounds like that what it might have  been sometimes a reinstall works wonders even Windows sometimes..

Glad it seems to be all working out..

  12. this might be a factor try increasing your Pagefile if you have the diskspace:

Page File: 35660MB used, 10637MB available    ( this was in the log) so basically you used more diskspace then you have avaialble.. so you get stutter when this happens worse then if it accessed the needed space files..

    I set mine at 102400..

EDIT: Have you benchmarked your PC and if so did it meet expected performance levels? there are tons of factors as too why you get stutter but your log showed your pagefile is too small.. also make sure there is enough room on the disk and that it is on a fast drive no platter drive SSD M.2 if possible..

  13. well what series did you plan on getting in the i9, a 14900K?? the 3080 will be compatible with your current motherboard as long as it is a PCIex8/16 slot and there is enough room in the case for it..

For a test especially if you use Open XR try turning the resolution down on the G2 to about 60% and see if the FPS improve. I would also see if you can keep the Hz rate of the G2 @ 60Hz and as long as you can stay above 60FPS it should be pretty smooth gameplay.. if you are trying the HZ rate @90hz it may not be as fluid..

  14. Hey Everybody,

It is time to relubricate my rudder pedals. Last time I used some industrial strength Silicone lubricant which seems OK but not sure about using it again..

Once I tear it apart I will see how it went from last time I lubricated it like if dust and such is stuck on where I lubricated it with this silicone spray..

This time I was thinking maybe use a Dry Graphite lubricant or what else could I try here?
