  1. I tried this multiple times on both of my copies, release and OB and I cannot see the new button. In other words I dont think its working. 2.5.6.55960 Not on Steam. What am I doing wrong?
  2. Threads are flawless. 2 fingers to screw the two together. I cranked on the threads as they reached the fully homed position and I couldn't break them. They could be broken by unreasonable people. No one should be buying metal ones if they have a printer. What I printed is light, stiff without flex or play of any kind. I sent 5 pieces to them and they can just screw them together until they have the length they want and leave the rest in a closet. The guys love them. I think there is a stigma with 3d printing that exists. Too bad. Anyway they are made from PLA .2 layer 230/60 temp
  3. I just 3D printed a bunch for some guys that fly on my server. They turned out well. Both guys say the close in formation stuff is considerably smoother because of the longer moment. I used a 7cm one on my Virpil because the threading is exactly the same as the Warthog. They had to order the wire extensions. These printed ones have the advantage of being light so when longer ones are used the stock spring has a better chance of being able to return the stick to the centre. The metal ones will reach that place from centre where the stick will just flop to the extreme if let go. Can be printed in any colour and can be printed with curves. 3D Printing FTW:pilotfly:
  4. I think you should be limited to the g an untrained average civilian can sustain for all planes. Say 4-5.5 G for 15 seconds and then you are out like a light. Real life. If you want more G you choose the plane and you subscribe to a monthly G tolerance program. 5 dollars per month for an extra .5 G beginning at 5.5 and ending at 9. After you max out at 9 G you can then pay the same per extra second you can remain awake at your 9 G limit. So you kids that want to rip on the stick but couldn't possibly hope to do in real life can pay 35 dollars per month per plane to get to 9. Wait. I just thought of something. Maybe you subscribe to DCS with your credit card and pay for fuel and weapons and repairs. Say 25 cents per weapon and 2 cents per hundred pounds of fuel taken from ground and 5 cents from tanker. Pull more than 5.5 G and a surcharge is put on you per second per extra G above 5.5. Say 5 cents per second. Can you imagine how this would make the game more realistic. Wow Think of the revenue all those afterburner spamram junkies would generate for you guys. Maybe you could hire more people and they could deliver the rest of the planes I have paid for. I think this is my best idea yet.
  5. Is it possible to install a bunch of skins on a dedicated server and have them show up for players that join or is it still just an individual install thing?
  6. Yeah on my system I am trying to figure out why my VR is so bad and I was exploring my cores when I ran across your post. i wanted to know if all my cores were in action. It seems to me that a logical processor is not the same as a core. It says that a logical processor is the result of multiplying a core by the thread (hyper threading) Something like that. anyways I cant show real core load, just the load of the logical processors. Either way its not going to help my issue.
  7. Did you show the 4 logical processors or the four cores?
  8. Ill buy another of your modules when its fixed. I think everyone should be on board with that ideology. You call it a feature. I call it a basic.
  9. I have money for a Corsair. Let gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  10. I used x65f for viper and its amazing. This and VR and Im pretty much there in the plane
  11. I setup my x65 and its amazing. Flawless. I did need to plug it into the throttle which is hidden under the chair and not in use. I use the Virpil throttle. I simply clear the column in DCS mapping of all x65f throttle commands and axis. Done
  12. Its nice to have a scale realistic F 16 stick isnt it. i also have the x65F. Most people have no clue it was ever made and that the stick doesnt move.
  13. This pitch oscillation happens at low fuel. It may have something to do with an altered centre of gravity and the flight control computer and flight model. If the C/G moves aft towards instability with fuel consumption it make a plane hunt in pitch. It also makes control of the longitudinal axis in pitch, difficult. If the flight control computers or more specifically the tailerons lacked fidelity or speed they would effectively lag behind attempting to control an unstable longitudinal axis. Also if the C/G is moving aft with fuel consumption it effectively puts more aircraft ahead of it. There is more mass ahead of the C/G. Try throwing a dart tail first. Since this is only a video game my explanation bears no consideration.
  14. Is there a way to force unlimited ammo for any given ground AAA unit? I want it to be able to keep engaging air targets without stopping. Thanks
  15. Update: After having to disassemble my throttle many months ago (9-10) and reverse the worn out scratched up plate that had zero lubrication, it I was able to get 5 months out of the other side of the plate. Now the plate appears to be worn again and the groove for the detent is now very soft. It rocks easily through the detent into afterburner. Each week it gets smoother and weaker as a detent. So I put in a ticket 2 weeks ago and was told then that the parts were on order from the manufacturer. I did a check in on the status 8 days after the ticket and was told the same thing. This part is very simple, very cheap and very easy to make. I cant imagine not having lined up a few boxes of them especially when the feedback from the community was that the detent was wearing on a high percentage of owners throttles. So high was it that on their new throttle they abandoned the idea of a detent because they couldn't make one work. May 30 is when I opened the ticket and to this day nothing. Yet Man on the moon in 1969
  16. SR71. Fly high altitude photo missions that will update the F10 map of the locations of enemy assets. As long as the plane flies the F10 map shows intell. The Sr71 will become a giant target and need cap to clean the skies. Might be a cool plane/mission of the DDCS and the like
  17. I start out that way. I like many others am excited and hopeful. Over time however I am taught things about them. I have had interactions, read many complaints. Spend many many hours interacting with their devices etc etc etc. I didnt just pop out of the blue to take a dump on them. They get the same chance everybody else gets. From me and likely from others. I am not their friend or their daddy. I am a paying customer and in some small way an investor in their future. The devices are expensive and when they receive minor upgrades and replace my entire stick or throttle, making mine 2nd rate, I am annoyed and I know many others are as well. Decisions are being made that make no sense. Products are being devolved in some important areas (detents) and evolved in others. My gripes are not just one thing they are a bigger picture however my picture never gets bigger than myself. In other words I don't care what their problems are. Not my business. My business in this relationship is to work for and pay tax on future disposable income to get well made products. Someone else mentioned it elsewhere that we should not be an experiment. Imagine going back in time and creating both the CM2 throttle and stick with all the buttons and a detent and selling that right off the bat. Its how it should have been. Buttons are an upgrade????? Since when is that a fair and well thought out plan and since when is it a reason to re charge someone full price to essentially replace a perfectly good stick and throttle. How many times do I need to purchase Virpil sticks in this madhouse business plan until I get what good planning and proper engineering should have given me on the first iteration. Speaking of iteration, I understand about improvements but the addition of buttons should never have been the reason for a new throttle. Look everyone we now will sell you all the throttle we should have engineered in the first place but we don't really know what we are doing so guess who gets to pay, the first generation people who dove in headfirst to support our burgeoning new company. No buyback, no upgrade no discount. I am the rat and its my job to shell out. Ill admit because its important to be fair that I really like my devices. I've had issues but they have made DCS a great experience. I am really annoyed at this progression path Virpil is on. I think most people get my Man on the moon insult and I think its valid still. I literally feel like they owe me a full new set with a detent. Its what should have come out and they would be considered the premium stick in the world right now. I know for sure they aren't. There are many questions around, some I have helped to raise. I do not expect perfection and I am not asking for it. Id like them to get it together. Its a throttle and a stick. There are people that can solve a Rubik cube in each hand simultaneously. Come on, the engineering of a button set and detent is nothing for talented people. When you involve people's money in your ideas you have a responsibility to make the best go possible. This is turning out to be a bad joke. Im especially offended when I see Virpil advertising more buttons. I wouldn't say bragging but I'm sure there is some pride with the upgrade to mediocrity. Also in what bad echo chamber meeting was the "no detent" idea floated and passed? If I was in there I would have laughed. That's because for 30 years I have been simming and when you make devices for fighter planes, and they are made for fighter planes because they are modelled after real stick and throttle, you fail to rent someone with the IQ to dream up and make work properly a detent in your device. It was obviously important enough to attempt on the first run. But then you give up and think #*$* it we don't got time for this #*#$ just get them out there we need to make money. I know thats what took place and I think no one wants to be on this path. You wait, the detent will come back in a later iteration and you can have the privilege of re spending all that money buy a new throttle. This is how they think. Misanthropy. The hating of the human species. I am one of these people and proud of it. Like many misanthropes what irks me the most is the potential of the human species towards greatness and then the laughable behaviour we display on a second by second basis. What irks me the most about Virpil is the potential to own this market and crush everyone else. If their products were garbage through and through I wouldn't care at all and I certainly would waste a millisecond of my time puking all these words out on the internet. Virpil get your ##$$ together.
  18. This company cant summon the engineering acumen to design and build a detent. They simply haven't the horsepower to do it. The new CM2 Throttle is fantastic looking. I own the original and had the detents destroy themselves and had to take it apart and flip the plate over for a fresh start. To issue a throttle of this calibre and phase out a detent tells me a lot about what's going on there. Chaos. A company not run properly and weak people at the helm. No detent is ridiculous. It's laughable and yet frustrating. You guys need to restructure and get what must be a tangled ball of yarn business plan combed out and made right again. Let me guess...the CM2 throttle will be sold and then ta da! there will be a CM3 with detent. You Virpil guys are running your business like a bunch of kids. It's not our job to keep funding your bad planning and poor executions of good ideas. I used to work for a company who ran themselves this way. it was pretty funny to watch them self destruct. I was about to buy another stick and this new throttle to replace the first set but without detent Im not sure I can do that. Very disappointing Now I see that your new update in firmware has yet again caused me to spend many hours trying to get my devices to work. I'm reading now that I may need to remap all my planes because new names were introduced for the devices and even though I copy my config folder over the new names for old devices will not accept the old bindings. It also appears that my complex profile will need to be remade. Complete remap of all planes and reprogramming of throttle. I think you guys should play the circus theme on your website. The new people who do not yet own your stuff have no idea what they are in for but those of us that do own your devices are getting a PhD in Virpil BS. Remember. A man on the moon in 1969. No detent and terrible software in 2019 for a gaming toy.
  19. I had set my throttle recently so that its movement was perfectly matched with the F18 throttle movement. Specifically the afterburner and idle ends. When I move my throttle even a tiny amount the aircraft throttle would move. It was set for both on the ground and in flight. I used the slider and saturation Y to make this perfect alignment. Just recently I noticed that on the ground now I still get that great fidelity that I set with the curves. In the air I have a 1/2 inch dead zone at idle where I can move my throttle and nothing happens to the aircraft throttle or the engine power. I understand there is a weight on wheels (squat switch) activated change to idle for ground operation and air operation. I am assuming this went into play recently. It is not right that the players throttle has a dead zone in air or ground (your choice) that cant be gotten rid of. I used the slider and saturation Y to alter the air throttle so it has the fidelity that I used to have in air and ground but that still leaves the ground idling at 68-69 percent. That high idle is as a result of forcing the air version of the throttle to match up. If this whole mess is as a result of how they wrote the code can it be made so that when the aircraft leaves the ground the engine low rpm is in fact affected but the "stroke" of the throttle remains unchanged. Doing this should allow the fidelity to exist for both air and ground operations. The only other way would be to have a separate curve for ground mode which is not practical I think
  20. Im thinking of getting tacview for my server machine. If I put it on the server will it record everyone's actions as long as its running or do they also need to buy it? Can I put it on just the server and use the server to view my own actions? In other words can I assume my gaming machine, the one I play DCS on doesnt need tacview on it? Thanks
  21. Reviewing should be limited to those who at least have an account, with the item purchased. A review button should only show up there. You have my review. Id like to see it there in the list. I think Amazon works this way if I recall. I am always on the lookout for dishonesty in corporations. It upsets me to see it when I do. If this isn't Virpil then I apologise. I see it everywhere it seems. I was hoping to get another plate for the throttle for when or if it wears again. I used one side and Im on side 2 now. I feel a very slight gap in one of the throttles opening. The throttle in question is able to rock slightly in the groove cut for that ball bearing. Its manageable now but I can easily predict needing to swap it out. I feel since I've already had to open up my throttle and do work on it and used the other side of this plate I would be furnished with another. I asked for one in my email and I gave my address. Im guessing the cost for that part is very low. Recall that I didnt break my throttle, I just used it as intended and it wore out. BTW "guests" have no rights. Guests come to my home and eat my food. If they don't like the food I make then they can @#$@ off. That's the magic of the word guest. When you are a guest of someone you don't pay money or favour. You are a guest. It is a privilege to be there. To be served upon by others. There is an airline in Canada that started using the term "guest" to describe people who spend money for a flight. Offensive. Customers do have rights. So much so that the there is law written to protect them. The misuse of the term guest has been going on far too long. Guests may visit your site as often as they want but people who fork out money are in a different class altogether. It really should be a members only thing, the reviews. I think I actually bought both throttle and stick without an account. I just made one and I should have done that right off the bat. People that dont own or have not spent money with you should have little weight put to their opinion if their opinion pertains to how the stick works and whether it was worth the money. Anyways as you can see I am in line to buy my 3rd device from Virpil because the stick is outstanding and I can't live without it. I feel sorry for all of you who don't own it. I am disappointed I need to rebuy the same stick basically with 1 extra 4 way (I have little use for the extra Z axis buttons added). It should have come with it in the first place. I ask that all owners of Virpil products submit reviews on what they have purchased. Please dont use the N word or profanity. Be fair and honest. There ought to be 150 reviews of each item IMO
  22. I have been the owner of 2 Virpil products, having given them about a thousand dollars of support over the last year or so. I went to look up the new CM2 stick which I have now preordered. I noticed the Virpil throttle had only 2 reviews https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-mongoost-50-throttle.html Both were 5/5 stars. I was surprised more about the low number of views than the "perfect" rating for the throttle. I decided the right thing to do was to add my review to the list. Who better to do it than me. I have owned and used the throttle for 8 months or so and in that time put hundreds and hundreds of hours on it in DCS. I am a commercial pilot and have been flying sims since flight sin code has been in existence. I issued my 3.5 rating with a quick note about my issue with the detents wearing out. Upon submission I was issued a "You have submitted your review for moderation" message. For moderation? I suppose I could have used the N word in it and other profanity. Maybe they need to look at it first before they release it. This was 5 days ago. Nothing yet. I just submitted a 5/5 star rating to see which will get up there faster. I find this company is waning in the integrity department. I haven't been satisfied by their customer service. I have never received the part they said I could have. They are obviously filtering less than perfect reviews to their site. Virpil. Integrity. Look up that word and learn it in your language.
  23. OK So I discovered what it was. Yes the autostart wasnt setting the INS switch to the 4th position to the right (whatever that was) So now you just manually set the INS to NAV which is the 3rd choice clockwise. It changed somehow.
  24. Where is the VVI on the F18 HUD. Its the floating velocity vector. Did they change how the HUD works and maybe I need to turn it on or align better? Also the G meter isn't showing anything but 1 G.
