  1. I started flying with these guys almost 2 years ago now. AG-51 has changed how I enjoy DCS. When I started I only flew the SU-25t and I couldn’t even land it half the time. They took me under their wings and taught me so much in a friendly and unjudgemental way. We like our members to attend as many of our squad nights as they can but we understand that real life comes first and there are no attendance requirements. We have some really talented mission builders so we always have new missions to fly. So if you’re looking for an easy going squad to fly with, where having fun is the top priority, AG-51 is a good group to fly with. Some groups say they won’t make fun of you if you make a boo boo, that’s not us. If you do something goofy we will make fun of you. I know, I because I goof up a lot. But we always have a great time flying. Come fly with us for a night or two and if you like what you see then you decide if we’re what you’re looking for. All skill levels are welcome, from total beginners to seasoned veterans.
  2. Hey Apache, thanks for all your hard work man! I love your missions. Hope you can get back up this way sometime so I can treat you to dinner again. Take care bud.
  3. Go to "controls"..."UI Layer" and set "Toggle VR Zoom" on your HOTAS if you have one. And for your other problem of seeing the keyboard there is a free program called "VoiceAttack" that will convert words into button presses. The free version gives you a max of 20 voice commands and the $10 version gives you unlimited commands. I love it in VR. Good luck and enjoy you new VR setup!
  4. Does this happen every time you fire the game up? I have this problem very occasionally but it usually is because I forgot and was looking around while the game was starting. If I look straight ahead until the screen loads I'm ok. If I forget and look around(turn my head) the menu can be anywhere, up high, down low, left or right depending on where I happened to be looking. If I look straight ahead no problems. Hope your fix is this simple.
  5. Funky, thank you so much buddy!
  6. Center mount, listed under pods in F1 menu. Will only show in the center fuselage spot.
  7. I really enjoyed the TPOD. But on the downside, while twisting sideways you won't be able to easily access the FLIR on/off switch in VR either. It's that difficult to get to in VR. I can't find this switch anywhere in the controls which means no HOTAS or Voiceattack binds. I really hope they add these switches to the controls section soon so we can bind them to something.
  8. Here is a little mission that will take approx. 2 hours or so to complete if enough players are playing it. I would suggest at least 3 fixed wing pilots but 2 can still have fun with it. It has Hornets, Tomcats and Hogs to choose from and requires at least one Huey pilot at mission start to trip a trigger to get the main enemy activity going. Most aircraft are land based but there is a carrier included if you'd prefer to start or rearm/refuel there. It is in the Caucasus map. Mission consists of a 12 Humvee column trying to breakout to home base and the Russians are trying to kill it before it can reach safety. Support needed will include CSAR, CAS, CAP and even some Vietnam style bombing where the enemy cannot be seen below the forest canopy. There may well be some periods of time where there is no enemy activity and you will need to loiter over the column at the ready as they retreat. This played well with my squad so I hope you enjoy. 10. Looks really nice but I can't get numbers to input.
  11. I once forgot to put my second engine in idle and it would power up but not launch. Just a thought.
  12. Maybe a simple question here, maybe not. I'm getting ready to set up my throttle to use for the Lantirn controls. For those of you who have already done this, how did you bind your throttle or stick to switch between Lantirn and non Lantirn use? I use a TM16000FCS setup and it has no 2 position toggle switches, in case you used a toggle switch to do it. Thanks.
  13. Got it fixed. I found this post and went through and checked my settings that he suggested checking and after making the suggested changes my jittering went away and my framerates increased. https://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/1744480967018037988/. My game looks and plays very well now. I hope this may help others who have the same problem. And thank you to everyone who offered suggestions, even the jitterbug video, I needed the laugh.
  14. I'm in VR and yesterday after the update mine started stuttering. Never done this before and worked fine the night before the update. Very upsetting.
  15. Hey everyone, I fly in VR and have never had any real issues, until now. I flew online last night, no problem, everything nice and pretty. Today I get on the game and see there's an update so I update my game, get in the cockpit and notice immediately that every time I move my head any direction I get a jumpy picture. It doesn't matter how slow I move, I can just look from one side of the F-18 HUD to the other very slowly and I get about 3 jumps in that small movement. It does it flying or sitting still on the tarmac. If I move my head fast it's terrible. It does it in all the views ( F1, F2, F3 and so on). Like I said, I've never had this at all before. I have to believe it's something with the update. Am I wrong? Did the update do this to anyone else? And has anyone had this problem regardless of the cause and found a fix for it? In a 12 hour span my game has gone from very enjoyable to very upsetting. Thanks for any feedback.
  16. Hey lancerr, I'd be more than happy to fly with you some evenings if you'd like. I'm in the central time zone but my schedule allows me to fly whenever I like and I'm usually up at that time anyway. So if you'd like to fly together just shoot me a PM and we can get together. I have all maps except Normandy and mostly fly the F-18. I'm a member of a squad that has some great mission builders in it so I have a nice array of missions we can fly. I have TeamSpeak and SRS. We can fly just the 2 of us or with some other guys I fly with also if you'd like more people. I look forward to hearing from you.
  17. You screwed that up...only caught a two wire.
  18. No problem for me....RIO all the way. Already told my squad mates to please don't kill us both on our first carrier landing attempts. My life is in their hands! Tee Hee giggle giggle.
  19. Everyone wants to find an easier way to AAR. But the simple fact is, there is no way to get better at it than to just practice, practice, practice. I was terrible at it until I finally got sick of sucking so bad. So I started getting up an hour early every day and spent that hour refueling in a refueling mission I created that started me in the air just a couple miles behind the tanker so I spent my time practicing, not taking off or chasing down the tanker. After 4 days I was beginning to stay hooked up for a few hundred pounds of fuel, and then a few thousand and finally that magic sound "refueling complete". Now I am actually very good at it and it is probably the single most rewarding element of the game. It feels so good to finally be good at something that kicked my butt such a short time ago. Put in the time and it will pay off. Also, you said you have big movements forward and backwards while refueling. Just go into level free flight and pick a speed, say 350 knots, and see what kind of throttle inputs it takes to stay at that speed. You may be surprised just how small the throttle movement is that you need to stay within 1 or 2 knots of your chosen speed. Then remember to use that same touch on the throttle while refueling. I bet you will smooth out your refueling movements which will make your refueling easier. But the main thing is to practice and keep practicing. There are no cheats that will take the place of that.
  20. Does anyone know if there is a way to categorize the pages in the kneeboard? I created a few pages and added them to my kneeboard. But there are so many airport pages that it gets to be a chore going through the pages and would like to somehow make it so I didn't have to go through all those pages if I'm looking for something else. Thanks.
  21. This is the best post in this thread yet. Everything he says is what I had to learn. The one thing I will add that helped me is when I get close to the basket to stop holding the stick in my hand and begin using my fingers. By that I mean I don't grip the stick with the palm of my hand making contact. If I hold it that way my inputs are too much. I back my hand off a bit so my fingers are making contact with the stick about halfway between my finger tips and the palm of my hand. This makes it easier to just nudge the stick for small inputs. And the next thing you MUST do is relax. Remember to breathe, untense your arm and hand and just be calm, hard to do but makes a world of difference. Concentrate hard on staying calm and relaxed, actually tell yourself out loud to calm down. You will see a difference just by relaxing. Relaxing will become easier as you gain confidence, but your confidence will increase the more you remain cool and calm. It's a game, so enjoy it!
  22. I have had that same HOTAS for over a year now and love it. It will do anything you want as long as you set it up right. You will probably want to put some curves into the joystick axis settings to make AAR easier. But once you get things set where you’re happy with them you will love your setup. Happy flying!
  23. If you're wanting to do comms only just set key presses F1 through F12 keys and voice command will be F1 through F12. Or you can use the words used for voice commands....ATC, Tankers..so on. It will take you about 5 to 10 minutes to do the entire thing. It will take more commands if you use the words used because some keys have multiple functions and the free version only gives you 20 commands. Paid version...$10....gives you unlimited commands. Worth $10 easily.
  24. You can change the time by going into Mission Editor and going into the "weather" tab on the upper left, it will have a small picture of like a cloud. Then at the top right you can change the date and/or time. Also, have you used your night vision goggles? they make it like daytime. I fly in VR also and night vision goggles work just fine. If you have Discord PM me your user ID and number and I will send you a friend request and we can fly it together if you like. I like finding new guys to fly with.
  25. If you have any feedback either good or bad, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm new at this and need to learn.
