  1. I wish you could see my flying. I completely agree with everything written. I just keep forgetting the thing has wings and their effect. Happy New Year!
  2. Has there been a loadout change? I found the missing pod. It can only be equipped on the center pylons.
  3. 550W PSU is inadequate, and your system shutting down is abnormal. Nothing to do with DCS except for the fact it is making your system work. Get a much bigger PSU. I have half the GPU (in terms of power) and I run an 800W PSU.
  4. I've been flying DCS online pretty much since BS1 was released. There is no better way to fly it IMHO. SP is great for just flying around, experimenting, and learning, but MP is where the action is.
  5. The Shark must be near zero velocity, stable in altitude, and in heading mode (hit the trimmer button). Disengage Flight Director!! Engage altitude hold, and it should hover on its own. If your controls are not trimmed, or they are a long way out from their trimmed position (depends on your hardware) then the AP will not have control authority to maintain position.
  6. Worth it just for the modelling, sounds, and flight dynamics update.
  7. Ka-50 is one heck of an aircraft (it's co-axial rotor for a start). AH-64 doesn't appear to have that capability.
  8. As @admiki said, I think that is the actual problem. I'm already on the margin, and exceeding it by turning at all. "rapid aft" means "to move quickly". I'm not doing that. I know you can't see me flying, but I'm actually very smooth on the controls, and I'm not pulling aft at all. Pure roll + pedal only.
  9. I found a bigger problem was suffering RBS. I'm not sure why a 40 degree right turn would induce that?
  10. All helicopters have a better side to turn. It seems the Hind runs out of power, rotor RPM droops, and then you start getting other problems. It's a big tail rotor that you're demanding a lot of pitch from, and I don't think the Hind has much excess power to deal with it.
  11. Simple: it isn't American! Cue "Team America" theme... JF-17 is a potent weapon in the right hands. It comes down to how skilled of a pilot you are. Some people gravitate to the F-16/F-18 because the aircraft makes up for their deficiencies as a pilot, but as some of the problems are being corrected in those modules, they require more skill to fight in. As written above: do NOT under-estimate the Jeff as an offensive platform. I'm at home in either the Jeff or the F-16.
  12. I'm using a Samsung 40" 4K UHD LED TV. I see no screen tearing, and I didn't see any with my previous display, either, for the same reason.
  13. I fly a couple, but fly helicopters more. Helicopters can be stopped on the ground by simply pulling back on the cyclic. The brakes are really just to stop it moving once you're stationary. Helicopters do taxi. They either wheel taxi or hover taxi. Of course, helicopters with wheels can hover taxi, too.
  14. I'll try. Not sure a screenshot will show what I see. Give me several minutes.
  15. Mi-24 can auto like any other helicopter, but you must do a roll-on landing. No hovering!!! Just flare and roll it on. Correct. Pitch for speed and collective to maintain healthy rotor RPM. Collective should be on the floor initially.
  16. Vulkan is massively over-rated, and I think people will actually be disappointed with it.
  17. Ka-50. It was my first DCS module back when Ka-50 was a totally stand-alone product! I have the Russian installer CD that was sent to me by a friend because there was a delay with it being made available in the UK/Western world. UH-1H is also a great module, but Ka-50 is best for combat. I just chill out with the Huey and treat it as my personal helicopter.
  18. Hi, Small detail: when watching the tips of the blades from the cockpit, the blades don't track correctly, and so some blades are higher/lower than others are the rotor rotates. Is this by design, or a weird graphical glitch? Helicopter is sat on the ground not moving, so not due to vibration or control input. Also, some blades appear to have opposite pitch to the pitch they are supposed to have (negative vs. positive pitch).
  19. Hi, It seems I can only equip one pod which is a grenade launcher, and the chain gun pod is no longer selectable? The weird part is the missing pod is available on the Mi-24.
  20. I think there is a bug. The middle position is AUTO, so it should work regardless, but it only works if you manually select MAIN.
  21. I'm sorry to hear that. Windows is just a major security headache. There is no real way to secure it - it is INsecure by design. The only thing I can advise is that you (anyone, actually) keeps OFFLINE backups/copies of all their important data/files. By OFFLINE, I mean on a disk that they have physical control of that is NOT connected to any computer except to access data when required. Any data used online (e.g. all day computing, or a server) should merely be a working copy that you can lose any time. Online and offline do NOT refer to network! It refers to the "old" definition of storage being available to a system. If iy is unplugged/depowered and inaccessible, then a virus can't attack it. Unfortunately, crypto miners and ransomware that encrypts everything is rampant, and the only defense is to have backups. The only safe way to restore such a system is to nuke the drives of an infected machine, and re-install from scratch. It is also much quicker (a couple of hours work). Antivirus was always pretty much useless, but nowadays it is even more useless. I'm not suggesting anything, but do you absolutely trust your friend in the US?
