  1. Whoa! Well, I thank you for the info. This is sad news indeed for me. the 2.5.6 update was such a horrific drain on my already struggling fps that I had to roll back to 2.5.5 just to fly with much-fewer stutters. So much of a performance hit the 2.5.6 was, that once I rolled back to the 2.5.5 I could turn terrain shadows back on A-N-D have much better fps in VR, thanks to this Shader Mod only☺. But now, now there is simply z-e-r-o chance of my opening my wallet to DCS any more. Not with about $200 of their unfinished/stutterfest aircraft needing finishing and optimization. Sitting on my HD. And even if they get around to finishing a few of them over the next 18 months like they stated in their Reddit article last month, well then I'd have to upgrade to the stupid performance-NERFED 2.5.6 just to top off the aircraft modules. So not worth it. Rock --- Hard place --- Us Customers... Losing 45% of my fps with 2.5.6 and having to turn off terrain shadows just ain't worth it. Wow. And I thought what Microsoft did to the Flight Sim communities with MSFS X was bad.... But hey, we can all pre-order SuperCarrier right, so there's that. Plus you can save like 2% on the F-14 Tomcat for a limited time, which runs at like 23 fps IF you have everything turned off or down and are flying over water only. At least that's all I have heard, and seen myself with the free trial over the weekend... Man. If ever they needed to hire someone at ED that gave a damn about their customers performance issues, and who cared about quality BEFORE fast bucking yet another unfinished module.... Well, enough for me. I need to take a break from DCS. Again. And its only Tuesday☺
  2. Ok, let me see if I have a handle on your answer correctly please: DCS patches include updates to the aircraft AND the engine combined, one cannot be updated without the other? If this is what you are saying then there is no way to be able to KEEP my install at 2.5.5 AND also let said modules receive aircraft updates to complete them. Am I stating that correctly please? Thank you for the help.☺
  3. Well, as i wrote I fly ALL the FC3 aircraft, all choppers, and the Harrier [smooth as butter], A10C etc without these issues, so no it is not just my settings. Once again, I can fly smooth in all other aircraft EXCEPT for the also-unfinished and unoptimized F14, F16, and F18 [all ED purchases...]. But then I hop in he Yak and its stuttery low fps... So once again, no, not my settings. One commonality is that the aircraft I own that have these same low fps and stutter issues are all ED aircraft. All still 'early access' even well over a year out. All with other posts declaring them as unfinished, unoptimized and needing serious help such as LODs... If it helps I am flying 2.5.5 in WMR VR, Odyessy+, RTX2080, Ryzen 5 and all other aircraft run well enough unlike this Yak, f-16 & F18.. Anyway, will I be looking back at this post in another 6 months of not being able to enjoy my purchase from the year before last year again? And wondering if I should bother to post asking yet again knowing I will only be told it must be me and not ED even though many others wasted their time and money like this as well? Are there any REAL answers? And they think I am going to BUY anything else from them ever again with $200 worth of unfinished aircraft collecting dust after 2 years☺---HA!
  4. *** Hi. So here we are another several months down the road and still the Yak is really not flyable for me. About HALF the FPS of any other jet or chopper I own. All FC3 aircraft, the Harrier, the F86, the P51 etc all run smooth as butter. But the Yak fps are in the toilet. For I think almost 2 years now... Please, is this ABANDONWARE, can I get my money back please, or is there a fix coming this or next year? Just looking for some answers and satisfaction, not looking to offend or fight please☺ Thank you friends.

    YAK-52 FAQ

Does anyone have ANY info on when the Yak will be finished or optimized please? I still get about HALF the FPS of any other aircraft or chopper with the YAk, and I realy want to just fly and enjoy it and get my money's worth. Any mods or tweaks or info would be very much appreciated. Thank you friends.☺

    YAK-52 FAQ

Any chance you can share this with me, or is there a download, Ytube vid or something? Looks great!
  7. I don't want WW3 please. I have owned the Yak since release. It still gets about HALF the fps of all other finished aircraft I own. Stutter city too. It is not new anymore by well over a year. I asked this before and the answer was that ED never finished it. Another answer was ED never finished the LODS. Another said it remained un-optimized.... I have no idea what is true. All I know is that I paid good money for the Yak and cannot fly it after I think near 2 years now. Unacceptable. Can anyone provide me help or an answer please, I only want to fly what I paid for. If there is a MOD or something I am all ears, please help. If my Harrier, A10a, A10C [all FC3 aircraft] and choppers all run well, then a lowly little Yak should fly Smooooth as butter. What can I do, what does it take please? Thank you friends☺
  8. OK I have a question please and I don't know the proper place to ask it without getting hosed. I am flying the 2.5.5 DCS world. I tried the 2.5.6 and it sucked, it sucked hard on fps. So I returned to 2.5.5 and am happy enough. Yaaay me☺! With that understood: * IS it possible for my aircraft modules to update as Ed fixes/patches them [ if ever...] without having to update to the 2.5.6 fps killing garbage update? - If so, then how does this work please? Not trying to upset anyone. I just want to fly and have fun without every single ED update hosing my FPS further and forcing me to continue to turn off and down all settings. And I ask as I now have 3 aircraft for over a year that are barely flyable as they kill all fps no matter what. I am stuck with the unfinished Yak, F16 and F18. All fps in toilet trying to fly them no matter what or where. If I could get my money back I would. In a heartbeat.... I mean, almost 2 years on the YAk and 1/2 framerates of any other aircraft... But IF, and that's a serious "IF", simply based on the last 12 years of experience here, but IF these aircraft are EVER fixed/finished/optimized then I'd love to get my money's worth for once without having to RUIN a nice running 2.5.5 install with whatever the excuses are for the 2.5.6 issues. Thank you friends. I am hoping for some good news☺
  9. Yes, thank you, no worries. I had gone there to page one, and I did try that very download you recommended. I appreciate it. What I posted later afterwards was how I tried it but the DCS 2.5.6 'upgrade' was just too awful on performance. So I wrote how I reverted back to the earlier 2.5.5.41962. Much better flying now☺! I highly recommend reverting back to an earlier version of DCS to anyone as it is so much better as far as VR FPS. An earlier version -plus- this incredible VR Shader mod are a win-win. Using the DCSUpdater Utility to rollback prior to 2.5.6 is key. and made it a snap. Well worth the fuss☺. Well MODDING community, it is up to you to improve performance in DCS since ED has published they are focusing almost exclusively on payware for the next 18 months. I hope to see many mods like this shader mod come out. Really hoping for more.☺ I'd especially like to post that I would pay real-world money for a MOD that seriously improves DCS performance. In a heartbeat. I bet most pilots would too.☺ If I had the talent to untangle DCS code and make the thing run like modern sims do I would sure do it myself. I just mean to be helpful with my experience, as I have heard everyone talking online I too have been burnt, and won't invest another nickle into any unfinished for years ED pre-orders any longer. But I would certainly pay for better performance☺. Especially if it helps me turn up some settings for once. Because all I have been doing with each official ED 'patch' is turning things down and or off entirely to make up for their increasing performance hits. If anyone has a real performance mod that they recommend please do share with me. Every time I feel like I have tried everything then along comes a REAL Mod like this VR Shader Mod that is a true game-changer.☺ I really appreciate you all, and thank you to all you modders. You guys deserve red capes☺!
  10. Rats, above link returns a 404 error That's Ok, I thank you for your answer. My posted revert of my install last night back down to 2.5.5.41962 is a good enough solution for me for right now. Took a few hours to make happen, and I flew for 30 minutes after. Typical. I feel that if it was not for the MOD community DCS would simply not be playable for most. If anything ever made my DCS preform better this entire last decade then it came from the mod community. I am very grateful to all you modders☺! With ED finally posting clearly now [[Reddit article]] that they are dedicated to payware only [[per their chart]] for the foreseeable future [next 18 months] and not optimizing or upgrading the ancient DCS code for modern multi-core PC's, the only hope for performance help is the MOD community. Mods like this shader mod. One of the best I have seen all decade☺! Regardless, once the 'pro' aircraft I purchased from ED last year, and the year prior, are finally no longer barely flyable as 'early-release', and actually flyable like most Mod aircraft provided freely by the community, and once ED actually releases some real optimization patches, then i may reconsider spending money in Ed once again. Not now though. As ED said, that'll be about 18 to 36 months from now. If even by then. And if they fold by then due to maintaining their focus on overpriced and unfinished payware instead of performance and optimization then by then perhaps all this will have been made public domain. Then my friends the modders will have picked it up, fixed it up all proper like and made DCS would it should have been 7 years ago☺! This current re-re-re-reinstall will scratch what itch is left for me after all these years of optimization-Stagnation☺. Looking forward to brighter days for DCS, however they come along.☺ Looking forward to the next great VR-Shader mod too☺!
  11. If this helps anyone here's my happy ending and the route to it: Like most of us my updating to the 2.5.6.44266 killed my performance in VR, and I saw zero graphical improvements. Once Again ED's update seems to be for Youtube-Sales promotions as opposed to bothering improving any form of performance... Just to run I had to disable shadows. And it really sucked. I enjoyed a smoother gameplay but no shadows killed it for me rather quickly... To go from shadows to no shadows was almost the equivalent of going from VR back to flatscreen... Eeeeesh! So here's how I fixed things to run better☺. Seeing as the DCS Management Reddit article recently showed for everyone that Ed is indeed officially long-terming any form of literal DCS World Optimization such as Vulkan [Long-Term =18 months according to their comments after the article], and thereby instead focusing approx 91% of their staffs efforts into Payware [per their published chart in said article]; forcing me to close my wallet to ED for the forseeable same long-term...☺ -Well, I took it upon myself to once again make up for ED's total lack of care about performance in DCS. So what to do? Using DCSUPDATERUtility I actually ROLLED BACK my crappy 2.5.6.44266 all the way back to 2.5.5.41962 This plus this AWESOME Shader MOD is a reall WINNER! Now to this I added the incredible HotPlugDisable autoexe This really helps eliminate a great many stutters. Something Ed could have done for us all ANYTIME in the last 5 years.... This is my way of transition into my thanks to this communities modders.☺ I am soooo grateful to the modders in this community for making up for ED's total lack of effort in the areas of performance issues. Next: And then I added the GameDVR_Disable.regedit [[both of these can be found on Youtube with how to's in the video ]] And the End Result is that I am back in action! With Terran Shaders back on as well, on Flat works best for me. Looks and run soooo much better in VR. As always I am on the lookout for other mods or tweaks. Like most DCS pilots I spend as much or more time looking for performance helps then I spend in the cockpit, but with things like this INCREDIBLE Shaders Mod for VR.... It really makes up for a lot of wasted nights searching through forums, watching DCS-Fix Youtube etc...☺ Dunno if this will help anyone, but it means a lot to my sim. Rolling back need not be scary. I thought it would fail but it was pretty automated with the stated program doing about 100% of the work for me. IF like most simmers/gamers you don't have $9K invested in your PC rig then you can still fly DCS rather well IF you invest gobs of time into getting these programs and related helps, and learning how to do them. And who knows, maybe in 18 to 36 months maybe even ED might wake up and jump on the performance and optimization train with the rest of us pilots☺! Anything is possible, and these are the days of high adventure☺!
  12. ******* Yep, I have this installed with the latest 2.5.6.44266 update, and it is several steps backwards as usual as far as performance. I had to disable terrain shadows entirely just to get close to the smooth performance I once had with terrain shadows in the 2.5.5.41962 + shadrermod of 2.5.6.43503 Runs well now, just without ground shadows.. So, if I heard ANY news of this awesome shader mod being updated to make the current DCS 2.5.6.44266 run better then I would not spend the weekend reverting my DCS version back down to the older and much smoother running 2.5.5.41962 Does anyone know when the next shader mod update is possibly being released or if it is being worked on to improve the current dysfunctional 2.5.6.44266 update?☺
  13. Is there any way to find out if this awesome shader mod will be updated to help the current 2.5.6.44266 version of DCS to run any better? I ask as if this is the end of this shader mod then I am planning to revert my DCS install back to the former 2.5.5.41962 where I was able to have terrain shadows enabled, whereas in the latest crappy 2.5.6 update, it runs so stuttery I had to disable all terrain shadows to smooth things out. Thank you
  14. I am so thankful for this mod. Seriously. ED could have done something like this anytime in the last 3 years at the very-very least. Simply outstanding quality of life enhancements here now. I have NEVER had DCS running so well as right now. I am actually afraid to update or change any one little anything at all☺. I am one grateful PC Pilot. Thank you for the hard work and I look forward to updates and info shares here and will check back often to learn more about this mod and how to better do things with it in effect.
  15. Thank you. In the process now.☺ Any chance if we have news on IF/when this incredible shader mod will be updated to include/fix the current 2.5.6.44266 please anyone?
  16. Not sure what I am looking for to be honest. I am familiar with all these but not sure what is best due to so many different opinions now. OK, Am I boned or is it a possibility for me to somehow revert my DCS back to 2.5.5.41962 without it taking 10 hours of redoing everything from scratch? OR Is this awesome shader pack going to update to fix/improve whatever crap DCS version 2.5.6.44266 did to mess everything up? Thank you for the help friends☺.
  17. OK I tried it. Before the attempt I was running the shader mod with DCS version 2.5.5.41962 and it was AWESOME! I just updated to DCS 2.5.6.44266 and have shader mod version for 2.5.6.43503 running wit it. Guys, I lost about 20fps average and have microstutters now where before I had none. Can anyone please advise me on how to remedy or if you see I have done something wrong. Yes, I did delete contents of metashaders2 and fxo files under savedgames as well as for each map I have installed.
  18. I need to rephrase my question please. Looking back over the last many pages I am honestly confused and seeking clarity. I am running the 2.5.5.41962 with this AWESOME VR Shaders Mod. I am happy. Is there a performance boost, performance drop or suicide to let DCS update tot he latest beta with the new map updates and new lighting? Also is this correct if updating: 1. Use jsgme to remove the VR Shaders mod 2. Let DCS update 3. Reapply this awesome VR shaders mod 4 delete the contents of FXO & MetaShaders2 and let them recompile the shaders anew Is this the correct way to do it and is it good to do it please? Thank you.
  19. LOVE this shader pack, T H A N K Y O U !!! ==== Quick question please☺: After learning what a trainwreck the last update patch was for most I have locked my DCS.exe and won't let it update. My current DCS.exe runs better with this pack in VR and I am afraid to screw it up. This is my goal is to not screw up. With that understood, is it recommended yet to go ahead and update to latest Beta WITH its improved lighting etc WITH this VR Shader pack yet or is that flirting with failure? Guys, if the new update patch helps I will risk it, if it has ruined lives then I will wait and keep an eye on the forums for good news. One last question for anyone that is in the know please: I read the Reddit release where ED essentially assign near to long term for where they are honestly focusing their teams efforts this year. What I gather from their provided chart is that all the current DLC is the focus for completing and repairing for near term which she defined as within maybe 6 months-ish. According to their chart it looks like 91% of their team and efforts is dedicated to DLC. There is more info aside from Kate's main article scattered through the comments below it. The remaining 9% of their teams efforts for 2020 she described as possibly but not likely going towards Vulkan or any form of focused optimization of what she described as their confusing and very outdated spaghetti code for better performance. Their words not mine, although I have said so for 5 years now. This Kate prescribed as a possible Long-Term goal before they would address assigning that as perhaps as much as 18 months down the road or more. With that said, by them and not me; I am asking those in this forum that know what they are talking about -- --Is this VR shader pack being worked on still to make up for ED's lack of efforts for VR and general optimization, or is this pack the end product please? Simple question, I only wish to know what to expect and IF any improvments are being worked on still in this VR Shader pack☺. Also, A N Y advice any of you have for me to keep this awesome shader pack running well, if not even better would be very much appreciated. Like all of you I just want to fly. I look for any way to kill stutters and blurs and if my experience can be improved by any of you I am grateful and seeking to learn more about that. Again I THANK YOU for this awesome shader pack. It alone has kept me from throwing in the towel and uninstalling untill 2025 or 'far term', so to speak☺.
  20. Reddit Information release & Update I am VERY grateful to Kate Perederko the chief operating officer of Eagle Dynamics who gave us the link initially for this Reddit release of info. What a breath of fresh air for the author to speak candidly and clearly about ED's investments of resources into improving this sim. And where the real work is being focused. After not flying any DCS whatsoever for many weeks now I thought to check back in and see if anything had changed from the last big 2020 update video and postings. What made me finally take a break from DCS for the first time in over a decade was their usual yearly unfulfilled claims of working to improve the core of DCS for better performance. Indeed I have updated my personal system 3 times in 10 years with the goal of a better DCS experience. But those upgrades never delivered and were always immediately nerfed to death due to DCS 'anti-improvement-updates'. No need to rewrite what hundreds have shared about DCS 'core updates and improvements' wrecking their performance over the last many years here. I had already addressed that this was a yearly unfulfilled 'goal' of ED for the last several years myself. It never goes anywhere, but its great to learn that most others feel the same way and are tired of their own fruitless and ever endless websearches scouring for anything at all that might make this single-thread-single-core-sim run just 1 fps better than last year. Anywho, to get back to the nature of this post, I am VERY Thankful to Reddit author Kate Perederko the chief operating officer of Eagle Dynamics for her upfront sharing of just how impossible a time ED has had this decade in working to get this ancient-coded sim to work on more than just one thread or core on a modern PC. I felt her frustration and pain describing their wrestling with the ancient 'Spaghetti code' that she described as DCS. I understand better now, and I thank her for her article. Added to her article I also learned a great deal in my stay-cation away from DCS these last many weeks. First, I played a lot more and flew a ton more in other modern-PC friendly sims. Actually this is an understatement as I flew about 80% more in this time away. I spent time flying in other sims that I typically had wasted scouring the web/forums/Youtube etc... for anything to help DCS run better. When you stop and break the habit and then take that time and spend it having FUN elsewhere then you'll get it yourself. It will shock and sadden you as it did me thinking about how much nightly/weekly time I had wasted in the last 11 years fruitlessly trying to get a kite like DCS to fly supersonic on a modern PC. DCS is beautiful, yes; but run well or optimized, not yet. I had purchased pretty much everything DCS going back well past the Lomac days. And DCS does run if you can look past the stutters and the blinding-horror that is DCS in VR.... But after the FREEDOM I have experienced these last 30+ days of flying other working sims and games AWAY from DCS, I simply cannot go back to this failed relationship with ED. As admitted in the Reddit article their goals for actual performance increases, let alone implementation of Vulkan are so far future as to not even being given any hope of bothering to pretend to set a goal-date. Not coming, not happening. Upgrade your PC all you want, it won't matter here at all or past the next few 'updates'. With that said my wallet remains sealed shut to DCS. And after the horror show that the last 'improvement' update was for most I won't be allowing DCS to update either. I am pretty much resigned to uninstalling but I honestly just have not had the guts to just yet. But after 30+ days of flying and recreating in many other modern and modernized sims I simply have no desire to jump back into DCS for another stutterfest evening of headaches trying to fly VR or searching for a mod that might actually help this time.... Just not worth it any longer. I thank the author's honestly and I thank ED for over a dozen years of DCS. In leaving this dysfunctional sim relationship I do harbor the hope that maybe one year when I check back in then I will find that ED at some point literally did invest resources into updating DCS to work on modern multi-core PC's, like ALL modern games and sims have done or are actually working to do. It is many hundreds of dollars of personal investment lost to me in aircraft and maps and addons, but in the next months and years alone I will actually be FLYING and FIGHTING and having FUN in other sims and games instead of searching the internet for DCS performance mods, let alone missing targets because of haphazard stutters and freezes, CTD's too many to count and defending real-world-reality from fanboy attacks. I will check back in maybe next year seeing as their is zero hope given of ANY honest or real performance updates or Vulkan implementation for at least all of 2020 according to what I have read. What matters to me is a good fly experience. DCS is a pretty Sim, but it does not run well, smooth or stable and there is no advertised honest hope of this any time soon. I don't speak for everyone, but I bet I speak for a great many pilots, and I know I am speaking my heart as much as Kate has for us all. Good luck Ed, I wish you massive success at those optimizing goals. Your success is all of our success. Looking forward to a future DCS that is optimized, Vulkanized and able to utilize a modern PC like the sims I will be flying from now on. It will be a wonderful thing IF it happens for us all in DCS one day in the years to come☺. Kate Perederko Upate article Link:
  21. I would ask you if you are that same guy with a mega$$ system that once again is proving that only people with mega$$ systems have ANY hope of running DCS anything like it is advertised.. So, thank you for chiming in and proving my point for me once again Capt. Obvious☺. And hey, we all got a new 2020 Youtube video from ED sharing that they will work on optimizing DCS this year. Just like they did in 2019, and as they posted in 2018.. So that makes it all better rigth? Because why would they post this another year in a row if DCS already ran perfectly for everyone with or without a mega$$ PC? Yeah, I must not know anything at all about what I am writing about here sheeple. Daggar's just too smart fer simple ole meLOL
  22. Soooooo more than a month passes and we still have a Yak that is not fixed... But we do have a new video posted on how ED is going to work on performance issues in 2020. Like they posted in 2019. And 2018... But we can all Pre-Order the Super Carrier!☺LOL
  23. Hi Lao Fei Mao I agree, thank you. It is my opinion that for the last few years the vast bulk of ED's entire efforts has been really ONLY towards payware profits and beauty advertising to rake in more $$, and I mean only. Patches have come out regularly, but nothing to write home about in ANY of them for over a year... Little more than hotpatches here and there and very minor system or bug fixes... Not serious actual upgrades.. Nothing worth investing in anymore for me and apparently many others to be blunt.. I wasn't even going to gamble on the Christian 2 plane on sale not being yet another unfinished, and unoptomized and nearly unflyable Yak waste of money... Honestly, the only real performance increases I have really seen in two years has been my own upgrading from a 1070ti to an RTX 2080. And this has been such a MINOR improvement as to be a total waste of money. The attitude I get from ED and other diehard fans with super-PC rigs, is that if you want better performance then buy a better rig.... Uh, no, my sim rig handles VERY WELL EVERYTHING thrown at it today EXCEPT DCS... * So it is DCS that needs to INVEST MORE of their $$$ into DCS, not little ole me☺. So outdated and bogged down is DCS's core is that it literally is crushed to death under its own weight. DCS cannot really run as 'advertised' unless on an exorbitantly overpriced and overpowered super gaming PC. DCS is ancient, un-optimized and runs so many extraneous and leaky plumbing fixtures as to be clogged at every union to the point where nothing flows or drains anywhere at the tap. DCS has become a Frankenstein monstrosity of archaic code whose sole purpose is literally ONLY to showcase what it can do on Youtube >IF< you have $6K++ invested into a PC rig. DCS is not made with an average PC's hardware in mind. And by this I mean PC's that are capable of running DOOM or GT5 or ANY other modern graphically wondrous title very well. Herein is where the fanboys assault me claiming that DCS core is all about deep and heavy flight dynamics, complicated systems and other weighty computation monsters... You know, the things that all PC's excel at.... >yawn< No, because other modern 64 bit flight Sims can run things beautifully and smoothly, even with emphasis on flight dynamics & complex systems etc... XPlane 11.5 is almost releasing Vulkan API as we speak and boasting of dramatic fps improvements... Yet MAYBE Ed might possible get around to it this year is all they will commit to after some 6 months++ of silence on it? Too little too late. Ship sailed when this was the exact care level of ED this time last year.. It is ONLY DCS right now that has not been invested in by ED as far as updating it to modern multi-core PC's by utilizing modern tech like Vulkan. The world moved on in 2018. Other Flight Sims released massive updates and improvements all year. Like XPlane's upcoming Vulkan patch.. DCS added payware all year. That's about it. My Yak still doesn't fly without stutters on ANY settings... And Nevada, middle East and Caucus are more stuttery than ever... IF I ran my business like ED has I'd be living under a bridge over a year ago. You just don't string your clientele along milking them so hard without feeding them... Anyway, I am not giving ANY milk anymore, I am considering just moving on and most likely cutting my losses and regaining my HD space back for other Sim titles that do run well. Perhaps one day I will see a Youtube video exclaiming that DCS is now Vulkan or under new management and actually modernized. But I am already well into my 50's so once again based on ED's performance over the last decade I am not going to be holding my breath for it. Rante Concluded. For now☺
  24. Like last year's new year kick off update about 2019's planned features the 2020 Update article was a good solid read. Much to look forward too.☺ IF, as they post, they release some of these efforts. I sure hope so. How great the FUN will be☺! I notice that Vulkan API implementation was brought up finally for the first time in a great many months. But just as it was in 2018 and briefly again in 2019. Now we are in 2020 and maybe it might be this year once again? That's simply not acceptable guys. Sorry☺. I can only assume that if Vulkan was really coming anytime in the next 6 to 8 months that ED would narrow it down to at the very least, "Later this year". But the way this is worded, with the Caveat at the beginning of the article, it is pretty much what we saw in 2018 & 2019. That is, "Maybe this year, but not promised." Just not good enough at all. I have begun basing my investing for 2020 solidly upon the Vulkan api actually being released, and or EXTENSIVE upgrades literally released to the core engine really-really enabling the Sim to really run well on my RTX 2080 system. So, IF these conditions are met then I will invest further in DCS World. IF these conditions are not met then the F-16 was the last thing I ever invested in. And that was pre-order and much regretted still as far as VR goes. The plane before that was the Yak. And as Yak owners know, all of 2019 was spent awaiting the Yak to be fixed so that the LODS would allow it run the way it should have in late 2018. That is, run really sweet like the Harrier did just after its release. Beautifully wrought aircraft that Harrier module is☺! I love DCS World. And I want to love it more. But based on this last decade's unbroken chain of unfulfilled & dropped goals I am not hopeful anymore, and have not been for a long time now. And I am finally unwilling to invest further any longer. Buying newer and newer equipment just for a new map or Core feature to nerf it is not acceptable. Maybe this year is not acceptable. Please ED, turn things around. The core for me, and most I have read, has not really improved during ALL of 2019 to be kindly honest as can be, especially in VR. Most maps are a stutterfest. Most forum postings and MP chatter are about trying to improve performance through some tweak since ED has not really done this for us paying customers again in 2019. I want to be 100% committed and investing again, but it takes two to Tango. I already turned away from the last 4 sales due to the same dreaded performance issues we ALL suffered through in 2017 and 2018 and 2019..... I sure hope things get turned around soon. I am rooting for ED's success. ED's success is everyone's success!☺ I am hopeful that the 2020 Update sees 100% daylight this year☺. But I have learned not to hold my breath, and I am checking back in and flying DCS less and less every month. I don't want to write this. I only want to be excited and flying and bragging on beauty and framerates. But who among us average under $6K PC owners can honestly do that these last several years? I hope for success for us all in 2020.
