  1. Look friends, my comments stand. They are very valid questions and rock solid points. The Yak is how old and still runs this bad? The Yak, simple little Yak, not the F-16 [which still has its immense issues if you looks around the forums..] Can't blame that on not owning the latest Nasa Kray upgrades this time☺. How is anything I have posted Emo, have you read your comments? If it insults, then I am not the one who released an unoptomised aircraft a few years back, then did not bother to fix whatever technical issues for it in those years to make it fly as good as say, the Harrier. So, how am I the dramatic one? Sounds like you two are projecting your own lack of business cumin and immaturity at me or something? I spent good money on a Yak to fly, not wait until "maybe next year' for Ed to get around to fixing or optimizing. Why on earth should I drop another nickle on ED's quarterly sales when the last several aircraft I was dumb enough to pre-order are STILL unoptomized, not patched and not worth their sale's price points? Some don't have the common sense of a bowling ball in a bathtub. I want to buy the last 3 things I don't already own, but how can I roll the dice yet again on MAYBE this one being complete..?Man, you kids really don't like doses of reality do you? The point is the Yak should fly awesomely now after approaching 2 years. Where are the patches? That's what this thread was about before the fanboy hijacking. Back to business, "WHEN" ED, when will you deliver the patch on the old Yak please?
  2. Well, its 2020 and the the sole VR update was not what we hoped for, and zero Vulkan updates or real info still have not released from the late 2018 hopeful dates I once read about. Nor have the Lods fixes promised for the Yak come out yet, keeping them at double FPS eater status after all this time. Ancient sim engine, modern PC, still not great bedfellows LOL.☺ But, seeing as it is a new year I would like to be blindly optimistic and ask if ANYONE can tell me IF 2020 will be the year for either Vulkan or some form of ANY kind of hope to look forward to for VR improvements, please☺? I really am hoping that I missed the great news somewhere. Not looking for guessworks or any form of fight or anything, just looking for some hope and help please.☺ I am not challenging anyone. I am not trying to be sarcastic mean, just reality-funny, this is just straight shooting talking like a man who really wants 2020 to be the year I fly more than surfing looking for some form of smooth performance. I am hopeful that I have missed something in these last 52 pages of this thread and twenty others like it that mean so very well and are indeed friendly & very patient, but did not make up for what the patches all year totally lacked. Since the first responses to anything like this form of posting is the standard requests for me to post my specs I will do so; knowing full well from the last 11 years of waiting for better performance from Lomac, er☺ I mean DCS, that all I will get is that I need to sell a kidney and buy more expensive equipment rather than expect Eagle to update this 20 year old engine to utilize modern PC's and all their cores.☺ Ryzen 5, SSD, 16gb ram, RTS 2080, Odyssey+ WMR, vr shaders mod, beta version of DCS, and all tweaks that I have been able to find that actually work for my system. No I am not upgrading this year anything further, nor should I have to with these specs as ALL other games I own run tremendous, so DCS should also be made to as well by Devs and not paying customers☺. No need to hijack this thread with how DCS is not like other sims or games. I know. Other sims and games actually work with 64 bit, multiple cores, GPUS, real shaders etc all and that is why their forums are not mostly tweak help guides as here☺. I am hopeful for a good and understanding chuckle from all readers, and I am dreamy eyes and so VERY-VERY hopeful for someone to link me a thread or mod or info or news that can make a difference for me and a zillion others this year.☺ Yes, I love DCS and have flown since they started. No it has never ran like it could have for me. And as much as I love it I have avoided this sale and the last 4 others until Eagle invests their efforts into taming this mighty beast. When they make a positive & real difference in my VR performance then I look forward to buying a few more aircraft, because that's all I don't own yet is a handful. Tried the PD of 1.+ whatever, nope too-too bogged down. Tried PD of 1 but with SS in Steam VR raised past 100 up to 300% and bogs too much. Instead of 11ms or less for 90hz I average 12-14ms.... = too bogged, stutters.. Medium view distance, med shadows, flat terrain shadows, med water, no traffic, hi textures, low terrain textures, no aa or smaa, lowest res under screen res, full screen, no raindrops, no anstrophic etc.☺ Who can thrill me please. Some good news, some link, some mod perhaps☺? After the 134 reboots and tests my last 3 days off the only thing that made this latest test session worthwhile was the brilliant shaders mod. HUGE thank you to that wonderfully awesome individual to get that to us customers.☺
  3. I don't wish to rant or blame, and I apologize if that is how I come off. But I have had the Yak for a year..... It should have run as advertised on day one when it was released. This isn't Steam early access excuses-level anymore. Why is the priority releasing more aircraft, and crippling the engine down even further with more flare that the code has ANY ability to utilize a modern multi-core PC instead of to reinvest and make the sim BRAG WORTHY? -As in, running for most customers the way it is constantly advertised? I mean, I am no rube, I know, we all know that if they advertised the majority of DCS World's Players' current playing experience then they'd go belly up in weeks.... "Buy now for planes that you cannot hope to fly for over a year, upgrade your expensive hardware for a chance to run it like we do,... until we upgrade the maps and shaders to nerf any system under $ten grand..." LOL☺ It is very frustrating, yes. I want to be a fan boy. i want to own one of everything DCS put out. I want to spend MORE TIME flying and making videos and spreading around how awesome DCS really is, rather than spending the majority of my time searching the web, youtube and forums just trying to get half the FPS you see in adds, or fixing what the last patch >Blessed< us all with... Man, I think I better be walking away now before they ban me. No return for the investment here this year. Going to be like Ross and take a break from DCS for awhile. Maybe when I check back it will have earned a right to my HD space and SUBSTANTIAL investment of time and money. Because after all the upgrading, and DCS purchasing I have done these last few years, it needs to be far better than this and the ever so worn out, "Maybe next year/next patch etc..." Love the game. Want to love it more than it returns currently. Ryzen 5, RTX 2080, 16gb ram, solidstate drives..... should run a year old Yak flat out☺LOL
  4. I appreciate the replys very much, thank you BIGNEWY & RAMSAY. I mean zero disrespect, but I have owned this plane all year, I don't get it, I mean, why? I own most choppers & planes, but because of these kinds of ever growing and unresolved issues I literally am not investing further in DCS any longer. I cannot, there is no return on poor performance and never coming upgrades. I want to buy stuff and fly, i really do, but ANY consumer needs at least a little confidence before they plunk down hard earned cash. Every time I am FINALLY able to invest in newer hardware it gets NERFED due to some new feature that the sim engine cannot utilize modern PCs to run well for.... It all looks great in videos and helps sales I am sure, but it never runs faster like modern sim engines. The answer to investing customers, especially long term customers should never be to buy better equipment due to map & engine "upgrades, and maybe next year the patch/Lods or Vulkan might come, maybe. I wanted to buy the Christian II, Tomcat and the Mi8, but cannot pull the trigger due to these increasing issues.... If I cannot fly what I already bought, what was advertised, exceeding all specs listed, AFTER A YEAR of waiting, then how can I invest further? I mean this man to man, with full respect to all reading. This is no rant, this is straight up honest friends.☺
  5. Seriously, is there any fix out there, any hope at all? A10 flys butter smooth, so does harrier... F16 is even smooth, but hop in the Yak and down the toilet goes all the fps. No matter where I fly. Less than half the fps of any other.,, why? So please, I am looking for help. It ain't about flight models... the Yak is as basic as you can get. And if my Harrier, F18, F16, F86, all choppers & A10A-C, and F5 all fly smooth..... Then this is a YAK issue. Not my rtx 2080 or 16 mb ram etc... Looking for help r a fix please. A kind thank you to all that take a minute to help a fella out.☺
  6. Just coming into this thread. 91 pages...... BUT sounds exciting!!☺ Without getting chewed out for not wanting to read 91 pages of thread, where is the latest version of this for me to download please☺?
  7. Yep, read that too thanks, took me no time to find as well. It is a Vulkan thread but does not answer anything I asked about. So, not really an answer that satisfies anything as most of the posts are people bickering over whether or not Vulkan is valid, even though it drastically HELPS all the new games I have played with it. And alothough Fly Inside, Xplane etc many others benefit massively from it. Who has time to waste reading 30 pages of bickering back and forth? Also we had all heard last year that it might be this year. Now you are saying maybe next year... That's just not really good enough of an answer. "Maybe next X-year" is not honestly a valid answer to customers investing thousands into planes, maps and equipment for the privilege of playing DCS. Just speaking straight here. The answer for DCS customers owning mid-range systems should never be, "Buy more expensive hardware and wait 3 years", when the answer COULD & SHOULD BE, "Lets unclog this decades past engine of the new stuff not really working for low to mid-range rig customers and somehow provide the other 50+% of gamers & simmers a means to play too. More players = more $$. This way DCS wins making more $$$,a nd low to mid range customers can fly above slideshow levels. * The tech is there already to profit from in older versions of DCS back to Lomac and Flogger. * Lots of producers are bringing back old titles for VR and making $$$ Just like IL2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad....... So once again I submit to the Devs, Wags and those in the know and control: * While all of us invested players await "next year maybe" for yet another year, Why not consider one of my solutions to help make DCS more playable on Low to mid-range systems? Maybe some things to consider might be: 1. Increase the VR options that cull out the major fps killer things. 2. A VR version that runs with lesser graphics, view/lod distances and more VR fps shader friendly substitutes. 3. Perhaps some rollback to 2.1 or another more VR/fps friendly version of DCS Until Vulkan is released, some day maybe next year, everyone could be a winner if players with lesser rigs could run the game like the rest of us flyers. And more options ain't a bad thing.
  8. Having searched through many pages of everything and all opinions etc I have not seen a release date for Vulkan implementation. I had heard early 2018, then late 2018 then early 2019 and with it being now late 2019 I am very optimistic it might be soon. Is it please, has there been any dates or set goals posted yet☺?
  9. I have failed in searches for info here. Finding a lot of conflicting posting about it, but no solid facts yet. It has been almost 2 years now hearing about it in I think late 2017 maybe? I am hoping to learn something from a Dev or something that is factual and not opinion. Please do not convert this thread into a, "Post your Specs so we can tell you to buy more expensive hardware" thread. Which is pretty much 98% of all forum material summed up. My kind request is only wishing to learn of any factual DCS engine Specs change, not my specs.☺ I am only interested in learning about actual and literal Vulkan implementation info or other update type that will improve the VR framerates for us non-elite hardware owners☺. I thank you ahead of time and hope for a FUN and surprising answer☺
  10. I do not remember asking about adding weapons to any Yak, having just purchased it this week.Regardless, if you want respect, then practice using it. Because you certainly do not know who you are talking to kiddo.
  11. One station on the Yak for smoke. SOoo,,, why not one of you incredibly smart modders make us a nice machinegun or cannon mod pretty please☺?
  12. Flarpt

    Як-52 hype

I SECOND this.... Please, Please with SUGAR on top man☺
  13. Not wanting to wade through another 12 pages of forum to find an answer to be honest, but same issues here as I read the first 3 pages. Cannot fire cannon, greyed out cannot bind. Any answers, news or fix info please☺?
  14. Ah, a Flagrum strawman argument. Yes, I'd like to see 2.5 run well, as I repeated in my post. Shouldn't take 8 years and 2 PC upgrades to achieve the advertising. I note that you do not have an answer or a tweak but rather you have only shared your own complaint against me for asking for any hope. At least my post ends with a possible solution to offer the devs and community. What'd your stilted reply do for any of us? To those that care about the sim and the people in the community; What makes2.5 so much worse in performance? * is it the dozen speedtrees per square meter, is it the beautiful new anims, is it coding or shader related, is it fixable? It certainly is not splash damage detection, which has not been addressed the 15 years I've been flying DCS, so what is the honest culprit and where can people like me learn what is being done about it, and when hope can be looked forward to? What is killing 2.5 performance for so many pilots? So, if this is not the precise address for the question then where do I ask for what we have to look forward to and where do I offer my feeble solution-suggestions and posts please☺? Thank you friends.☺
  15. This is an honest reality for I think most people not running Cray super computers. I can run highest settings all across the board in 1.5.8, with all the same aircraft, and I get smooth, almost stutter free 90 to 144 fps. Pure pleasure to fly. Beautiful. Pity it took over a decade to finally get to enjoy this engine. using Reshade-me and project lasso. But.... DCS World 2.5 Beta & Stable latest build I am forced to run low to medium, and OFF on almost all the eye-candy just to maintain a very flawed and micro-stuttered 42 to 52 fps. Yes, all AA and ansio OFF at Nvidia control panel. I'd list my PC specs here, but knowing it is good enough for 1.5.8 I'd like to skip 3 pages of hearing all the jive about not cutting edge and how complicated DCS is blah-blah:doh: This post is different see, SAME aircraft, SAME PC, SAME reality. The 2.5 is the problem, not my PC, not the aircraft and not Trump. So, will this take the next 8 years to polish and make work? Like all my friends here I'd like to spend more time flying than we all do searching for community fixes and tricks just to make the sim run a teeny-tiny pinch more like the advertising. Dear Devs, how long, what's the skinny on the situation? Please just let us know what's being done, bless us with some timeframe, give us something to look forward to. Anything please? I'll take yet another user-discovered fps tweak any day of course, but what I am after is what I see in 1.5.8, the good performance+Pretty [with ReshadeMe]. So, I know it is possible for the 95% of us users without Cray Super computers. ***Perhaps we can take some things from 1.5.8 and apply them to 2.5 as options, a clickable option's menue item to rollback to something proven-stable that works maybe? Thank you friends.:)
  16. Thank you Yurgon, FC4??!! + 4 new aircraft!!?? I'd love to know more about that, that is exciting NEWS☺!
  17. Yurgon, I thank you for your answer. I followed the link you provided. I see the 9 pages of people asking many questions with zero response from any devs as yet. The most frequent question still being will DCS be optimized to ever run better. My question, keeping in mind please my being new to posting here, but having been involved in DCS back from the start almost 2 decades ago, my question is this; Do the devs ever respond, and if so then where do i find that at please? Thank you friends.
  18. After 9 pages of questions I just don't get when, where or how the answers from DCS are coming? Pretty much the main ones are still if the engine will be optimized to run on most people's PC's without months of special tweaking and severely lowered settings. So is this thread actually going to produce any response from any DEVS, and when will this be please so I can check back in. I am very interested in most questions listed thus far. I thank you all for your efforts.
  19. Majapahit, To Clarify what you are explaing to me: If a weak video card then Texture Filtering Quality setting will cause more stutters. and If Strong video card then Texture Filtering performance setting should = even less stutters Did I get this correct?☺ Thank you
  20. Majapahit, I have tried Nvidia Inspector with your suggested settings. It has helped. It was definitely worth the minor learning curve. I appreciate the help and the time that you took to help me out. I wish more things like this were out there☺ Still have some stutter issues. But I am hopeful to hear DCS Dev news soon addressing Vulcan, memory leaks, optimizations etc. Anyone else out there with a tried and true tweak for the latest DCS World Alpha or Beta?
  21. Thank you Hasler, I respect what you are saying. I totally get your words. Points made. My real question is still, is there any posted optimization incoming, any further talk of Vulcan implementation, or any hope of improving fps for the 80% not looking to invest $3K into a new DCS dedicated gaming rig? I am also seeking info for options to lighten the CPU load. Less trees, lighter mesh, anything that will actually work. Tired of seeking and tweaking instead of playing. One session runs smooth, the next a stutter fest. Surely the game can be streamlined, optimized or options included that really provide framerate relief. Gotta run, check back in later, thank you men.
  22. I thank you men for your kind feedback. It is really appreciated and I will be implementing the Nvidia Inspector & settings when I have a break over the weekend. By way of trying to stay on the cutting edge of things, have I missed any news on further optimization or Vulcan implementation or upcoming memory leak patches etc? I am not sure if I am looking in the wrong places for DCS posting about improving the sim or if there is just zero good news currently with the recent F18 release still being fresh? Thank you friends. You have given me new tweaks to try☺
  23. Thank you majapahit, Slazi, my 1050 ti may not be cutting edge, but runs everything else from Arma 3, Prepar 3d to GTA5, and flat-out beautiful and smooth. The problem is the newest DCS engine needs what all other engines seem to have standard, optimization, working shaders--. I run Prepar 3d v 4, and it is dropdead beautiful with its advanced cockpits, massive amounts of trees and traffic.... Why not DCS after nearly 2 decades? Love DCS, but its not balanced and not a good running system. So, has anyone heard any more news or info on Devs actually optimizing, fixing the memory leaks, trying Vulcan, replacing the defunct shaders, broken AA or anything else that might lead one to hoping they don't need to disable everything, have access to Nasa's Kray super PC or spend as much on a graphics card as they do on a new PC just to run DCS like you see in the 'promoted' videos? I'm really invested here owning many of the aircraft already and having saved over a year for this new Ryzen 5. Searching through forums I see nothing bit people like me suffering the stutters and all their many attempts to remedy, but ZERO-zero-zero from devs on offering any hope the next decade won't be as fruitless as the last nearly two decades have been. Is there any good news, please brighten my month someone☺?
  24. I bought a NEW Ryzen 5, 1050ti with 4mb, 16 gb ram on pc, SSD drive instal, win 10, and I have everything off in background just to run dcs. ansiotrophic ingame only at 4x and all AA off in dcs but on in Nvidia panel as suggested. Civ traffic off, shadows on low, deffered on, shading default, view range to high, trees 80% and everything else basically off. All jets I get about 47 to 72 fps average depending on screen action, but with minor stutters, but f18 runs about 20 fps less and greatly increases micro stutters... Stutters stutters stutters.. This is a good system, I am so sick to freaking death of spending more time tweaking to get smooth fps than actually playing the game. 17 years of spending more time tweaking than playing. This PC runs EVERYTING else flat out maxed settings, but no, not DCS.. What does it take to be able to play DCS smoothly and looking at least close to cool any other modern game? I ask almost pleading. Is there a magic button, something to disable or enable? Surely it is possible for them to optimize or cut a deal with ReShademe or something. What about Vulcan, that was mentioned and then never brought up again that I can find. Is there any hope friends, please thrill me with something here, Thank you.
  25. Anybody figure out how to get them back, what files or where to mid to get some of the effect back please??
