  1. I've done some testing boresighting on the fly and whist in active pause. During active pause, the Mavericks boresight perfectly and as they should. Defiantly seems related to the new INS update and the aircraft moving.
  2. Will you be updating your other 2024 liverys with the new gear texture and canopy reflection?
  3. Spitfie Mk.IX MJ627, 8k livery by FloMalbak
  4. Yes there are a number of things you can do, dropping shadows, lowering of the view distance and others will all help but you shouldn't need to. If you can fly between the buildings of Dubai, Cairo, London or Paris on other maps and hold 60fps, then you should be able to fly over a small farm and trees on otherwise empty terrain on South Atlantic too. On the same note if I can have a silky smooth ride low over the buildings of Rio Grande and Rio Gallegos, I cant see why I have a stuttering mess flying up a random valley near Ushuaia where there is nothing but trees? Puzzling
  5. Thanks for having a go anyway. I've done some more testing and it still seems a distancFactor of 2.5 is the setting that will work with all maps. No flickering and good performance for twice the defalt view distance. I've kept the all default presets as they come with the game and lowered the distance for the extra presets to 2.5 for Ultimate and 5.0 for Insane. For comparison, some screenshots below for anyone interested. The difference is more apparent when you flick back and forth between them. Defalt Extreme at 1.5 Distance at 2.5 Distance at 5.0 graphics.lua
  6. I get a senseless drop in FPS in random places and even in the back country miles from anywhere where the only thing rendered is the trees. I can hold a solid 60 FPS on every map currently released at the maximum settings DCS has to offer, it makes no sense that sparsely populated South Atlantic slows me to a slide show in the middled of nowhere with nothing to be seen other than trees. With thanks *For anyone frustrated with this problem, pulling back the Forest Details Factor slider to 0 eases the problem for the most part and can be done in game whist on the fly.
  7. It appears to be directly related to the distancFactor as lowering any of the other settings has no effect. A distancFactor of 2.5 seems to be the highest I can go before some buildings around London start to flicker. 2.5 is not bad being twice that of the default extremes 1.5 and I could live with that but after seeing how the world looks set at 5.0 its a bit of a let down. For now, I will probably use Extreme at 2.5 for Normandy, Sinai and the South Atlantic with its FPS hungry trees, Ultimate for the the other maps.
  8. Extreme and Ultimate look superb and run well on my system but unfortunately causing buildings to flicker on the Normandy Map and it's particularly bad over London. Looks to me as if its cant decided what lod to use and flicks between both?
  9. The download seems to be corrupted, I'm unable to extract the zip file.
  10. While on the current topic of view distance but being mindful of not hijacking Barthek's thread, dose anybody have a working modified graphics for the view distance I can try?
  11. le1hy If possible and when you have the time, would you mind doing a texture for the mxu-648 travel pod to match and blend with your skins? Unfortunately the F-16 seems to use the one for A-10 and being light in tone, looks like it doesn't belong or blend in with your skins and tanks. Thanks
  12. I've just experience this and the brain shake horrendous! Seems to be a feature added to all FC3 aircraft. Is there anyway to turn it off?
  13. Except for the A-10, I was surprised all the others were still at low resolution. I hope the update in 3d model materials and the implementing of PBR textures will inspire community texture artist to make high resolution alternatives for us.
  14. Caused by custom cockpit textures, select Default cockpit in the special settings menu and the mirrors will be back.
  15. Well done on cracking the cirrus.fx! The alternating cirrus textures is the one feature in DCS that’s frustrated me for years. Being able to keep one cloud pattern present for at least 24 hours really enhances the atmosphere and ambiance of every cloud preset and especially impressive at dusk or dawn. It also adds just a touch of flavour to those sterile blue sky missions some mission makers are to determined to make. Hope you don’t mind I’m rather attached to the stock Cirrus textures, so I’ve kept them in for now. Thank you again for your time and effort that you have put in to this.
  16. I've just tried it and it looks the business. I discovered there are two versions in the special settings menu, Factory New and Aged. The aged version looks superb. I wish they sorted the HUD scaling and the default sitting position while they were at it, so we don't have to sit on the stick to keep the font contained within the contrasts of the HUD glass.
  17. 14th Fighter Squadron by lee1hy, I love this skin.
  18. A high pressure inversion trapping dust and moisture below, while putting a cap on vertical development resulting in spread out. Scattered 2 – Base at 5000, Fog - Visibility at 100000, Fog - Thickness at 6000
  19. I've just recently learnt the Gazelle after having it gather dust on my hard drive for years on end and now I've fallen in love with it. Flying with the usual short sprung stick that most of us use, the biggest game changer form me was flattening the Saturation Y and using as little curvature as possable. This make the Gazelle much more manageable for learning and flying with in the everyday flight envelope. It will only limit you if you attempt manoeuvres that require rare full cyclic deflection and that you will almost never do. You can increase the saturation if once you've got comfortable flying and want more response or travel, but I've felt no need to do so. The ultimate answer is a true to life full length cyclic, for me this seems to be the best compromise. Hope this helps Pitch - Y Roll - X
  20. Dose anyone know if there a fix I can make so the OV-10 Bronco wont clash with the the engine sounds? Or are these mods permanently incompatible?
  21. The amount of time youve spent starting DCS, checking, closing, making edits and then restarting to achieve these presets must be phenomenal! Thank you and thanks for keeping the stock Cirrus clould in.
  22. +1 Is there a step by step guide? "115V AC bus must be powered" I cant find any info on this either?
  23. I've found tweaking the haze in the atmosphere.hsl works but never looks quite right as DCS uses the haze for blending purposes, so the textures or blending in the distance can look a little odd. I strongly recommend using ReShade for reducing the haze and enhancing the overall look of the sim and it won't intefear with the IC. Along with the Sweet.fx shaders I recommend installing Astray.fx shaders when installing ReShade. I have the following enabled: Blooming_HDR.fx (This is were the magic happens and it adjusts the lighting and bloom in real time according to where you look.) ColourMatrix.fx (Makes the terrain look more photo real to me but removes a lot of red) Vibrance.fx (I use this to bring back colour a little after enabling ColourMatrix) Clarity.fx (This makes things really pop out but can look too noisy if you already have a lot of in game sharpening already applied.) Note however the Blooming_HDR.fx can look a little odd in some night time conditions and outstanding in others. I mostly just turn ReShade off at night but one can experiment with making a separate preset for when its dark. There is a nice review of the Blooming_HDR.fx Here Screenshots just don't do it justice but here are some comparison screens below with my in game with sharpening set at 0.2 and Gamma at 2.2. Ive also attached my current ReShade preset below. Hope this helps some of you Default: ReShade: Default: ReShade: Default: ReShade: Default: ReShade: Day Mixed.ini
