  1. I found these in my Scribd subscription, but haven't listened to them yet (my backlog is huge and I'm on a Battle of Britain binge right now). https://www.scribd.com/audiobook/354221394/Carrier-Pilot https://www.scribd.com/audiobook/323580390/The-Battle-of-Leyte-Gulf-The-History-and-Legacy-of-World-War-II-s-Largest-Naval-Battle https://www.scribd.com/audiobook/336144827/World-War-II-Carrier-War

I came here looking for some ship mods to make the new Normandy map feel more convincing. Even a simple destroyer capable of providing gunfire support against targets on the beach would add soooo much atmosphere.
  3. If you are truly interested in simulating an authentic US Navy experience, then embrace the long wait with vague and often conflicting information. Cuz that's exactly what being in the Navy is like.
  4. Calm down. BigNewy did a bad job of conveying the requirements and his second post hardly helped things. It needed clarification and Raptor9 clarified it.
  5. I just hopped in this morning and it doesn't look like the sight reticle issue has been resolved. Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible as this is my first time in CA since... well before the new clouds), the reticle is still very misaligned from the bore. Which sucks. I've pretty much made the switch from 2d to VR and it's a pain to have to reset stuff to move back and forth between those modes. I guess I'll stick with Steel Beasts for now.
  6. Figured it out. The solution laid in my monitor profile in the game settings. I was running a main display and two small MFD displays. Switching from that profile to a single-display profile removed the TV reprojection. Weird. My monitor profile didn't have any adverse affects on all the other modules. Just the Ka-50. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and taking an interest!
  7. Thanks Boss, I'll run a cleanup and repair, as well as uninstall/reinstall the module and see what happens.
  8. Not sure if this is a bug. I've never had this happen before in 2D. Tried the KA-50 for the first time in VR today and am getting the TV display duplicated in my HUD. Hoping it's something I can disable. Appreciate any help you may offer.
  9. Does anyone have any details on the different types of bombs the moss can currently carry? IE, which one should be used for a specific target type?
  10. The crews that did this raid "skipped" the bombs off the ground into the walls from treetop-level height. They barely cleared the high walls during their pullouts. I think it's a lot like asking a pro baseball player HOW they hit a home run. They're going to find it very difficult to explain.
  11. For me, it's always the port engine, never starboard. Happens on startup/takeoff then disappears after a few minutes. Happens again on landing.
  12. Nor do I. Comparing screenshots taken today in the current open beta, with those taken a year ago, show no difference. Same oversaturated colors. I think the wording of the announcement is confusing. They're saying the Normandy map "is getting" a major update, but this appears in a newsletter released in concert with an update. Just not the update the blurb refers to. Hopefully something is still forthcoming. It's my least flown map due to it's bizarre color palette.
  13. My Opinion I'm fine with waiting and I appreciate ED's commitment to finishing the EA modules. I've been playing flight sims since Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and have watched many developers come and go. ED and 1C have shocked me with their staying power. For both companies, it's obvious this is a labor of love. Thanks for making a sim that brings me so many hours of entertainment and one that no other developer would even dare to attempt. Stay healthy ED.
  14. Purchased, literally within minutes of learning it's available. Can't wait to fly my Hornet out to it. I do have one complaint though, it's not "my" boat. Spent several years on the Eisenhower and was hoping she'd be one of the hull numbers.
  15. Just built myself a button box with switches and axis's so that I could map all of the lights in the Viggen, only to discover that the most of the keybinds either don't work properly, or are missing completely. Does anyone know if Heatblur has acknowledged this and/or is working on it? It seems like a very easy fix for them.
