  1. I have an 850W behind my beast and it doesn`t even break a sweat. The fan never even turns on, 850W is fine.
  2. I`m not touching Syria. No way, even with wishful thinking. Been with ED too long. I`ll patiently wait for the Mariana's. Cheers and Happy New Year.
  3. I have some experience in DCS from the beginning. Just a casual flyer though. I find some of the modules to be exceptional. This one surprised me. What a joy to fly. Really love shooting touch and goes with her. Nice work. I`m not impressed with the F16 though. It feels unfinished (probably is, I guess, so I don`t want to be unfair). On the other hand, the Tomcat feels good. Cheers and Merry Christmas everyone. Emra
  4. Head Tracking I use a Delan Clip (Poor Man`s TrackIR), which works fantastic by the way, and I could not imagine flying in DCS without it. Don`t know what else to say really. Cheers.

    Thank You DCS!

All criticism aside, this Super Carrier is a stunning piece of work. Congratulations to Matt Wagner and all of the development team, the support staff, and all of the great fans who supported DCS all these years. I feel privileged to have lived long enough (I am an old man now. . .Lol), to see and experience this work of art. She has come along ways since Jane's. Thanks Again. Emra

  7. I have owned CA for years but wont install it becasue it always has been broken and unfinished. I hear it is needed for the pending Super Carrier though. I wonder how that is going to work. Maybe it explains part of the delay. Who knows?
  8. The Delan Clip is a fantastic piece of kit for the money. Tough as nails and reliable as well.
  9. Now I have buyers remorse. I really do. But then I am pretty firm now in what I have purchased and have overcome the impulse to buy another module at this point (most noteably from RAZBAM). The few I have are serving my interests well. Another module won`t change what I already know about EA culture.
  10. Take off with half flaps. This is in the manual. Then set to auto after take-off and you won`t have the issue.
  11. New GPU issues Often times a new GPU requires a reboot after installation. A GPU reboot is when you unplug the GPU card from the PCI slot, re-install (plug in firmly), and reinstall the drivers. I had a similar issue with my GTX1080ti. After this, it ran a little hot until it "burned in" and now everything is perfect.
  12. Lol. . . It`s because the Reddit community is not affected by DCS political correctness when it comes to criticism. Quite simple really.
  13. To BigHairyGobbler, Personally I can`t stand rudder pedals (I will always use the twist stick) feature. I don`t like sitting up and into a desk. This is why I never bought the Warthog HOTAS which also develops issues down the road with the pot. I like sitting back with a different (slouch) posture with my feat up now and again. The Thrust Master T-16000M is a fantastic stick for the money. So is the throttle quadrant. Yes there are issues that crop up with the optical twist feature but it is easy to fix with a simple screw driver. As far as Track IR goes, I am glad I passed on this expensive kit as well. Subsequently, I bought the Delan Clip instead. Much cheaper and more reliable (stainless steel). Once set up and tweaked it works perfectly. The Grim Reaper uses it and swears by it. In respect to the aircraft you mentioned: I don`t own the F-16. I won`t buy it anyway until it is in release state and on sale. I`ve supported enough EA modules already and I don`t agree with the culture it promotes even though I fully support DCS. Concerning the AV-8B, I have no buyers remorse (purchased 50% OFF). The Harrier is a super fun ship to fly with loads of options in terms of missions etc. She also looks fantastic and is further along in development than the F-18C. As far as the A-10C goes, one can`t go wrong with her in light of what is coming down the road.
  14. Interesting article concerning the increase in Carrier production. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/david-j-bercuson-why-well-see-more-and-more-carriers-on-the-high-seas#comments-area
  15. For an extra twenty bucks you might like CA later on. Besides, you can also control combined "Air" assets as well. In theory, the Super Carrier is a combined asset within DCS World. It is listed in the same category. I would jump at the chance to grab CA at current price. On the other hand, I see your point, since CA does require an extra 60 GB for install. I hope they actually integrate the Super Carrier with CA, it would justify using CA. . . Lol.
  16. I run an I7 8700K, 32MB DDR4 3200 MHz Ram, GTX1080ti, Samsung M.2 NVMe drive, @4K. The 1080ti allows me to run at 4K, otherwise I have to nerf my monitor. Everything is silky smooth apart from a few "very" heavy missions. 32MB Ram helps with the larger missions. Whenever I get frustrated with stuttering P3D I go back to silky smooth DCS for recovery. . . Lol.
  17. Looking Forward to a Conservative 2020 I have shared my lot of criticism over the years with DCS but in the end who does what they do better? . . . Lol. . . if that even sounds reasonable. I get the "beta" culture (pre-release) in software development, I don`t agree with it, but it is what it is and people need to make a living regardless of fiscal irresponsibility or living above their means. We all do it from time to time. This is why I am somewhat conservative about when I purchase a particular module. Case in point: I love the Viper but simply won`t buy it until it is finished. Having said this, I do have other "unfinished" modules to keep me satisfied for now anyway. I guess if the pre-purchase culture keeps the passion going then we all have something to be thankful for in this wonderful hobby we all share. The last thing to stave off burn-out is the ability to live in comfort while paying the bills. When burn-out occurs it is all but over. Criticism is good but people need to hear a few encouraging words along the journey as well. Despite my woes I support DCS because they seem to care about their supporters even though at times they appear to bite off more than they can chew. At the end of the day I am grateful that I can jump into the cockpit "cold-and dark" after a hard days work, listen to the pitter-patter of rain on the canopy, warm up the bird, throw some switches, taxi, take-off, fly, and land somewhere to my choosing. All with fantastic visuals with an assemblage of virtual reality coupled with some comfort. DCS to me is a cockpit simulator. All the rest is gravy. Looking forward to what 2020 brings. Cheers.
  18. Is there a code for those who already own the F-18? The sales page shows discount for pre-purchase of Carrier but how do you apply the extra discount if you already own the F-18?
  19. I realize it needs finish but I am glad I picked her up. Being so used to jets she seems painfully slow but the Yak is nice for a little change-up. Cross wind landing are a treat. Wish I could fly it in my "other" sim as well. Nevertheless, I am glad I picked her up. Cheers
  20. Intel 8700K is still the best CPU for the money. It runs far cooler than the overrated 9900/9700K. It doesn`t matter what cooler you use the 9700K`s run way to hot. Heat kills a CPU in short order. Get the proven 8700K and cool with Noctua Air.
  21. No I did not. I guess that might make a difference. I confused with Heatblur and Viggen.
  22. It may be the time I spend in the Harrier over the F-18 that influences my bias. I have not spent much time in the F-18 yet so my bias may change over time. I do find the external model a little nicer on the Harrier though. I do wish they would finish the latter though. I won`t buy the Tomcat until they do. Cheers
  23. Hmmm. . .I just purchased the F-18 to show support. However, I am not enjoying the F-18 yet as much as the AV-8B Harrier. I never thought this would be the case. Maybe too much F-18 in the past, not sure. I am sure the F-18 will sit well until I decide to fly it more down the road, but I find the Harrier far more fun and challenging. It also appears to be more more polished as of the latest update, which is understandable. I find the F-18 easy to fly and sort of boring in a way. Not sure why. In the end though I imagine one can never know what they might like the most until they purchase all the modules in the end. . .Lol. Cheers.
  24. How To Trim The AV-8B: Double tap the "A" (auto pilot mode) button. Preferably while flying straight and level. The "A" button seems to reset the attitude to neutral according to present aircraft attitude (and speed). Although, the latter method works at other attitudes as well if the aircraft is balanced with ordnance and fuel. This is the method I use if I have mapped my POV hat to cockpit (pan) views. Otherwise map the POV to trim as others have stated if using Track IR, etc.
  25. This is a really nice ship. I held off until now. Been flying the FC3 Aircraft mostly lately and decided to splurge a little on the sale. I`ll probably squeek in one more before the sale is over. Anyway, really enjoying the AV-8B ship. It`s a joy to navigate a well. Just feels so good. Kudos to RAZBAM and all their hard work.
