Yes, those images are partially useful. I'd like to zoom in on the map, view the roads leading into and out of the target area (to better see what routes the enemy will be using for convoys). I'd also like to get a look at the topography of the area around the ingress point and plan my attack from that point of view. Falcon 4 gave you a 360 degree view of the target area, complete with topographical data and radii of expected air defense ranges. I don't need all that, but a detailed map with town names, marked roads, and contour lines would make this already spectacular game nearly unbeatable in my book.

Love the game guys. I love heli sims as it is and BS has taken it to a whole new level. And now for my one complaint :) "Alright Gentlemen, straighten up! Your target today is Insurgent positions located to the South and Southeast of Batumi. Leftenant Blackadder will now continue with a detailed map of the target area." Ok, you get the point. I read the briefings throughly, but without a detailed map study (a la Falcon4) they're worthless to me. Anyone had any success printing the map, or some semblance thereof? What are you guys doing to negate the terrible intelligence division of Russian Frontal Aviation?

Was playing MP today and I sustained some damage. My buddy could see it, and told me so over voice chat, but I couldn't see it on my own heli. I could see damage on his, but not my own. He could see both. Anyone else experienced this? Whats the fix?

Haha! Yeah, thats the truth! I must have listed to every piece of traditional Russian music on YouTube, from Prokokiev's entire Alexander Nevsky score to "Song of the Volga Boatmen" but it was Basil Poledouris's "Hymn to Red October" that had sufficient gravity and length to complement my movie. I even gave Glowing Amraam a nod in my credits on the hope he would give me a "tender" critique on my first Vegas movie.

Anyone got any hints or tricks for this? I know Shkval doesnt work at night, so all acquisition has to be done by eyesight alone. So this: Negates Vikhr employment (correct?) Mandates use of rockets, bombs and guns in manual mode So you must overfly and attack visually with perhaps 1-2 km sight range. Suggestions?

Can't seem to be able to do this withour autohover, which make landing at FARPS problematic. Anyone got a good procedure for this? Occasionally, I entered an uncontrolled level descent that destroys my helicopter when I'm trying to hover. I push the collective to the firewall, but to no avail. What causes these uncontrolled and unrecoverable (at low alt) descents?

Just like the rest have said, make sure you put the pipper on the target and hold your release button for 1 sec.

Just wanted to ask the forum what their tactics were for target acquisition. Seems like I just spring over top the enemy and get shot down before I can find them. Whats the best way to locate convoys and enemy positions? Also, whats the best way to acquire targets at night? It seems like the Shkval is useless at night. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: Well, looks like the pilot is the "scanning instrument" in the Shkval scan mode. So whats the best strategy, standoff about 8 kilicks from the target area and give the area and good shakedown with the Shkval?

Hey guys, one last thing and I swear I'll stop:) When flying, many times I feel as if the aircraft is fighting me. I'll take a peek at the rudder and it'll be deflected without my input. Now I understand the autopiot will do this to help maintain straight and lvel flight, but at times I feel like the autopilot is working against me. Any hints or tips? Should I be using flight director mode during combat and the AP during transits? I try and trim when I'm on course, but the aircraft still want to turn or yaw without my input. I thought AP was supposed to help? ;)

Roge-o, just downloaded another pre-flight chklist and noticed the discrepancy. Excellent call, that was the issue. All problems resolved. Got another Q, but I'll start a different thread, as its completely different.

Thanks Evil, got the weps release problem solved, still no joy on why my buttons dont light up. Maybe I'll try another startup checklist.

Well, I auto-started the chopper with the cheat key and the buttons work perfectly. Wonder if I missed something on start-up. Still no joy on weps release though, they stubbornly stay on the racks. Anyone got a good procedure for engagement?

Following the directions in the tutorial, I attempt to turn on my "Turn Nose Towards Target" and "Ground Moving Target" buttons in the combat control panel. However, the lights don't turn on! Why is this? I am cold starting with the following switches on/off: Master Arm=On Weapons Control Panel=On Training Mode=Off Laser Desig.= On No dice on those lights coming up, anyone got a hint? Also, when I did manage to lock up a target in the method illustrated in the tutorial (minus those 2 lights) I found I could not release a weapon! I even had the "C" authorization! My Vikhrs were selected and switches as described above. I got a "countdown timer" in the hud but no cigar. Anyone got a hint here?

The cockpit is in English as well? Like the abbrev. over the switches and dials?

What EXACTLY are the differences between the Russian and English versions? Is the only difference the Missions/Trainings in English?
