  1. It’s weird because some people have an issue with their battery not charging in the headset. I have had the crystal for about a month now and have yet to replace the battery. It’s still fully charged and I have dumped many hours into dcs and other games testing the crystal. Needless to say still good option.
  2. I just got my Orion 2 f18 throttle in today and right out of the box the right throttle axis is dead. Everything else works great just the right throttle axis is showing no signs of life. I’ll be contacting their support soon.
  3. The patience is my issue too haha. I’m trying to remain strong here. Knowing my luck I would get the aero and the crystal would release and have amazing reviews.
  4. Your a legend! That was one of my biggest concerns was that the crystal would not get DFR. It’s just going to be a wait and see situation. I so badly want to get a better headset but might as well wait a little longer.
  5. You can still use the base stations with the crystal. But I was and early backer of the 5k plus and got it when it first released years ago. I still use the the 5k plus and never had any issues. I do see pimax as having lower build quality but that’s why I’m going to wait for the reviews. I have heard some terrible issues with pimax but I have not experienced any yet.
  6. I’m waiting to see how the pimax crystal performs. It’s hard to justify spending 2k on the Aero when pimax is offering a higher PPD for less. From my understanding the crystal will also come with eye tracking so hopefully it can also utilize DFR.
  7. So normally what I’ll do when I get those random tracking issue is turn on smart smoothing then turn it back off. It normally fixes the issue.
  8. I would also like to see a option where you can select multiple targets from the list at once so after he is done with one target he will go to the next. It could be as easy as doing a right long press on the target list instead of a right sort. If you do the right long the list will stay up so you can select other targets. But yes I do agree there should be an option to engage all ground targets, air defenses, and so on. Just like in the communication menu for your wingman.
  9. I love the ihadss design and doesn’t bother me at all. I love being able to see my NVGs on the top of me head. Add a whole other level of immersion for me.
  10. All I know is I cannot wait for my CPU to actually be fully utilized. With the current state my CPU frame times go through the roof when I'm on the ground or near a lot of AI even though my CPU is only 15% utilized.
  11. Is anyone having issues with fixed foveated rendering taking up a bunch of CPU usage. I got a 3090 and enabled fixed foveated which works really well at lowering the GPU usage. The only downside is it causes really high CPU usage which unfortunately makes it unplayable when AI are involved or your on the ground. I'm curious as to why fixed foveated rendering would could this much CPU strain.
  12. So every time I start a mission it tells me that there are conflicting shader presets. I uninstalled all mods and even did a repair on the game and the issue is still there. I also can not adjust any setting like NVGs which I'm assuming is an issue from the shader issue. It states its an issue in the ShaderFixes folder.
  13. So is there a difference between the OpenVRFSR and the vrperfkit? Im currently using OpenVRFSR with good results. Update: It appears that I am getting better frames with vrperkit.
  14. Thanks for making this post as I have been busy lately. But if you are experiencing judders bad it is because you are not at a steady 60 frames or just a steady frame rate in general. So in my testing when I increased my graphic settings my FPS went to 55-60 and caused massive judder but after I took off and leveled out my frames went to a locked 60 and the judders went away. So I’m assuming need to have steady and lock frames with the GPU catalyst to work

  16. Don’t know what SS is on PiTool and I used 3 for pre rendered frames in the control panel.
  17. Haha glad it worked. The thing to keep in mind is with GPU catalyst when the frames fall below 60 or the frames just jump around the screen will jump around in VR. But from my testing I was getter by a locked 60 frames. What I was thinking was that if you lowered it 90hz the frames will get locked at 45 and then you can turn the setting up for better visuals. So basically you need to have steady frames for this to work.
  18. I am getting a solid 60 FPS on the ground and in air with my 5K plus with MSAA on. Here is a quick setup of mine. In Pitool I set it to 120hz then normal FOV. Pitool rendering to 1.5 then GPU catalyst to 10. In steamVR I leave the rendering to Auto which should be like 46%. In game the pixel density is at 1, textures and terrain textures at high, water and viable range at low, shadows low and MSAA on 2x. I also did everything in this and his second video. With this setup I think it looks pretty good and i maintain a solid 60 FPS on SP Missions. Only tested in the A-10 and in a couple missions. I could defiantly go more in depth but I also need to test it a little more as i have not touched DCS in about a year. I am also using the BETA version of DCS which after reading apparently kills FPS in VR.

  24. I have not tried yet but this may be a dumb question for the guys who are getting fatal error. Are you guys trying to launch the steam version of DCS World from pitool or the standalone version.
