  1. I believe it's somewheree at the device list in the meta quest software. I am not at home right now, but i believe it's there when you setup everything, you can also setup your playspace.
  2. https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-1?color=black Thats my recommendation if you look for something lightweight. It's quite a good budget headset and the soundquality is quite good. But i have to say i game with it most of the time. It's comfortable and you won't hear much from your surroundings. I can't talk about the mic quality since i haven't used it much since i got it. But in the games i used it, nobody complaint so far.
  3. I don't know if i remember it right, but before the announcement of the apache, there were talks about the cobra. And i think someone said the are using the apache as a testbed for the george ai and it will be easier to impement it into the cobra. Instead of doing it the other way around. But i could be false i mean it's a couple of years ago since there were talks about a cobra.
  4. Thank you for the lecture. I am not a native speaker so every explanation is welcome. Didn't even know that it's a religious word, cause i've never looked it up before reading this thread.
  5. Conan does, because he knows what's best in life! Sorry i couldn't resist on that one.
  6. I bought mine with the damper and it works like a charm. I can't say they feel sticky, but different to pure springs. It's a bit hard to explain, i still can make small adjustments in warbirds and helis. But it doesn't feel sticky like the TM 16000 pedals or throttle i owned. It feels different to a normal spring.
  7. But the beast is clearly a floor mounting device. Mine is quite heavy and if you don't own a steel table i wouldn't recommend a table mount.
  8. It's mostly immersion, so you can feel the plane and what's going on. For example if you pull g and you reach a certain point the stick can shake/vibrate so you get feedback that you are pulling to much g and loosing to much energy. When you trim your aircraft or helicopter the stick stays on its position like in the virtual aircraft. So it's not centering in the middle like a spring stick. In warbirds your stick gets heavier the faster you go. And if you are a real pilot or know a real pilot, you can set up the stick so that it feels kinda the real aircraft. Precision depends more on an extension, because the longer your stick the bigger the action radius of the stick itself gets. Not every FFB stick will give you more precision, but if you are able to fit an extension on it, you are increasing your precision significantly.
  9. All modules have generic support (haven't tested the mig19 from my signature, but everything else seems to have ffb for me). Generic support like the Stick moves with the trim in game. Stick gets heavier in the ww2 birds as you increase speed, feels lump when you loose your elevator. In the F5 you can feel the limiter on the roll axis, so you need a little bit more force to push through to full deflection. F14 and F4 have special FFB options and effects integrated in the module itself. All of that you get with a microsoft ffb 2. All newer ffb sticks, like the rhino, moza, brunner and ffbeast use their own software, to get telemetry from the game and generate their own effects.
  10. And it's quite expensive for nearly the same performance of a rhino or a moza ab9.
  11. You can enjoy DCS with whatever you have. I bet some people are even flying with a xbox controller or use keyboard and mouse. It just gets more "realistic" or in a better term "immersive" with added controllers. My only advice to you is, when you go for rudder pedals, get some proper ones around the 200 price segment. Because if you go in for a metal construction, the pedals will last forever. When you buy cheap plastic ones, there comes a point where the crap is breaking apart somewhere and usually most of them use pots instead of hall effect sensors.
  12. Oh yeah good idea with the ffb switch. I should consider this option if i am going for the resistor mod.
  13. Nice work looks really good. What does that switch do on the base between button 8 and the thrustslider?
  14. Sticktrim doesn't work and the last time i checked the mig19 and harrier both felt like its a spring loaded stick. Without any feedback at all.
  15. I use a msffb2 and ffb works for me with every module i own, except the razbam ones. Even the a4 community mod works great out of the box.
  16. Usually stronger force is better because you get a wider range of feedback. At least from my experience with ffb wheels and racing sims. Because i only own a msffb2 and don't have anything to compare it to. But i had already 3 different ffb wheels and i always went up in pure ffb force. For example with a cheap wheel i got a "feelable" range of forces from 0-100 and with my latest wheel it seems i have a "feelable" range from 0-500. For example if i hit a curb with the wheel i would be on 100 on my old wheel and on 500 on my new wheel. But the feelable range in between got much broader. I don't know if it makes sense to you in any form. But a little example would be the F5, if you can get a msffb2 stick to test it out. There is a feelable bump on the rolling axis when you move the stick you hit a detent and you need more force to completely deflect the stick. The force in the msffb2 is noticeable, but it would be more noticeable if you would have more force left on the motors.
  17. I know and i would have already bought a kit, but right now it is a wiser choice to upgrade my system. I am reading propelers thread and everything which evolved around it, since he startetd it. FFB brings so much immersion to the platform and it got neglected for so long. I am still wondering why, since the whole racing genre exploded in the last decade with a wide price range. There are even ffb pedals. I mean i know there was a lawsuit which stopped microsoft from producing the ffb sticks. But it seems to me that nobody even tried to go a different route, so that they don't violate some patents or even come up with something else. For me everything related to ffb becomes an addiction at some point. Since i got my jetpad couple years ago, i can't fly or race without it anymore. Just imagine you could have a ffb throttle/collective and ffb pedals. Flying the huey could be so awesome as a co-pilot when collective and stick and everything moves around like in the real thing. I mean if you fly with a buddy or some other human. I don't wanna know how weird it gets with the inputs as soon as the ai takes over.
  18. I know exactly what you mean. I slapped a CH Grip onto my msffb2 which was quite an easy task. Since the board of the CH stick is quite small and fits easy into the case of the msffb2. I use the original usb cable from the CH stick so the wiring and buttons stay the same. So my msffb2 stick has one usb connection for the ffbbase and a seconed usb connection for all the buttons on the ch stick. Your described problem is much more pronounced now since the CH stick is way heavier than the original msffb2 stick. I think i have to go for the resistor hack to see if it gets better. Right now i have setup a deadzone on both axis of 2 or 3 on all modules to overcome that "hardware" deadzone from the stick itself.
  19. Same here, sometimes it works for a short amount of time and then my mouse cursor is back on the desktop and i only see it when i am able to find the window with the cursor.
  20. Did you already open up the throttle? If not do it and look for maybe loose connections on cables. You can maybe spot the faulty part and try to repair it. But keep your patience and don't do it in a hassle because you wanna fly. I thrashed my throttle pedal of my 10+ year old fanatec pedal set in a rage "accident" a couple of days ago. I wanted to race and the throttle made strange inputs so i opened it and saw a loose cable on the potentiometer and tried to solder it back on. It took me 2 hours because the freaking cables are so thin and my soldering iron is just a cheap piece of equipment. finally i got it to work again and i saw the calibration was off, so i replugged the usb and the throttle stopped working. Something snapped inside me, than something snapped on the throttle and i put the simracing stuff away. Now i am waiting for a new pedal set to arrive. Back on topic i don't think the board is broken since the other buttons and sliders work, so maybe just a loose connection or if it's hall sensors maybe the magnet moved a bit or fell off.
  21. You could try using the occulus tray tools and make some profiles for different sims. At least it changes the profile specific settings for me everytime i use it.
  22. And how you gonna find out with SP people when new multiplayer bugs get introduced? And there are a lot of games which have a beta program, where you get new content before it drops to the public branch. There are even playtest events with some games when new content gets introduced or new features, before the drop it to the public branch.
  23. Because with the introduction of new features sometimes old features get broken. Sometimes it takes a lot of open beta updates to adress some issues. And a lot of people are complaining about it. Honestly i don't care for the F16 and F18 at all, but i don't wanna see the warzone in the forum when some features get broken and it takes 8 weeks to fix them. With the stable version there is at least a version people can enjoy with the features they got sofar. And honestly we all don't know what all the SP people are using, all we know is that there are a lot more OB servers than stable ones. So the majority of the DCS online community decided to use the open beta. And i bet there are a lot of squadrons out there who still use the stable version for their flight nights.
  24. I wonder what the discount will be, when you purchased all the terrains till the whole earth map dlc arrives.
  25. CameraViewAngleLimits = {70.000000,130.000000} 70.0 would be your nearest zoom fov and 130 the most far away. the zoom range is 60 If you take the half of the zoom range and add it to the nearest fov, you get your default fov. So you have a couple of different aproaches but all will effect your zoom range.
