  1. The only thing which is better in that price range is the gladiator nxt from vkb. The 16000 is a solid piece of hardware. The only really negative aspect of it is the lack of buttons on the stick itself. You just get the Trigger, a pov hat and 3 additional buttons. From the precision its the same as the warthog.
  2. Since Falklands is a 3rd party map and ED mostly just teases their own inhouse stuff, my tip is its the upcoming new free map mariana islands. I will for sure buy that apache since its another helicopter, but i really hoped that the mystery module would have been a redfor plane or another cold war bird.
  3. You have to select the displaced neutral trimming option in the special tab menu from the f5.
  4. Just my opinion, if you can afford it get both. Huey and the mi-8, if you can only afford one module, you have to think a bit into the future. The mi-24 will drop in the near future and if you are a fan of the hind and want to fly her into action, you should get the mi-8 as a starting basis since a lot of stuff should be similar. If you have a lot of time and can wait for the announced Cobra which maybe arrive in the next 2-3 years, you should get the huey. Both are really nice to fly, while i personally find the mi-8 harder to land than the huey, but i have much more flight hours in the huey.
  5. Sorry i sometimes forget if you don't put up a smiley or emoji people don't get jokes. There is no aircraft in the forum header just clouds and terrain.
  6. Oh shit they drop all flightmodel physics for digital cloud simulator?!?!
  7. While i was looking at a couple of options to maybe replace my twcs throttle, i stumbled across this mod. I already ordered one and will report back as soon as it is installed and tested for a bit. I'll leave a video and a link to the shop for the mod. I found this video Here is another one from the seller and developer and the link to the shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/885326705/impulse-slider-thrustmaster-t16000m?ref=shop_home_feat_1&bes=1 Maybe this one helps a couple of people since it's cheap for the result you get.
  8. I wonder if there are real fighter pilots out there who can remember 24 cold start procedures at all. I mean sure if you just fly one or 2 modules a cold start shouldn't be the problem. But if you enjoy more modules in a small timeframe it's impossible to remember all of them. I mean i get the cold start procedure in like 3-4 tries into my head again as long as i fly the module but when i haven't touched it for a month and i flew some other airframe, it's gone. DCS is a huge sandbox and everyone get their fun in a different way. I mean for myself i am here for the combat and the fact it's as close to real life as it gets. I can pretend that iam just a normal guy who somehow made it into a cockpit of a fighter jet with a mission going on where i try to do my best. I am not interested in just flying a plane around and do nothing than just flying, because at some point it really gets boring for myself and i miss the feeling that virtual death (bandits, flak, sams) is around every corner. Mostly autostart except for 3-4 modules which i fly quite often.
  9. @Erbin Start up DCS and any mission, instant mission and try to hit ALT+ENTER and see if its the same. I had a long timeframe where dcs wasn focused right from windows when i started it up and always get 30fps less and a stuttering mess. As soon as i hit ALT+ENTER everything was back to normal.
  10. You have to load the profiles in the software for the joystick not for dcs. You can either bind everything in DCS to the selected module, or you bind everything within the software provided for your joystick. You don't mix those 2 together. Set up your joystick in dcs will work easy, but you won't be able to use the 3 different modes with different settings afaik. The Tray icon will change its color if i remember correctly when you load the profile. I'll try it again.
  11. For me it seems that the quality of the weekly newsletters has somehow dropped. For years i enjoyed reading the newsletters every friday but since a couple of months they seem just odd. I don't know i cannot see/read the passion anymore. But i think its quite subjective. Would be nice to know what features are actually in internal testing and stuff like that, but with that info comes a lot of discussion because its already 95% finished. :)
  12. It works if you program the saitek software. But you have to read a guide how to do it properly. For me it seems that your changed profile is not loaded in the saitek software or your joystick is still pre mapped within dcs. First go into settings, controls and your desired aircraft, klick in the column for saitek x52pro joystick and click clear category, repeat the same process for the throttle. Now all your preassigned buttons should be removed within DCS. Now enter the Axes tab and see if the column of the x52 throttle has a mapping for your mousestick. If you look at the controls and move the different sliders and axes you should see which one is used. If your mousestick is used somewhere clear those fields. Now you go into your Saitek software and program every keyboard command you wanna use on your joystick to your preferred button, save the profile and load it. If iam not mistaken its either right or left click on the tray icon and there should be your created profile.
  13. Since every time you start a mission you get an aircraft fresh from the factory. So in that little time you fly the airplane and overstress it just a bit you it won't matter because as soon as you land and end the mission, the airframe gets scrapped and next time you have another factory fresh plane. If you abuse it in that little time you will get damage in all sorts of modules. The airframe will not break because someone pulled 12g for a couple of seconds, but if you pull those 12g another 20 times it will break sooner or later. Engine overspeed is already modeled in the game and you also get certain warnings in certain frames if you are going to fast. And also flameouts can occur in pretty much all models which have an emergency airstart procedure. And honestly you have time for so many extra posts but you were not able to look up Divertless supersonic inlet on wikipedia which states: But you guess a lot and write a lot about it, instead of taking a couple of minutes to do a simple google search and bring some facts to your discussion.
  14. Since a lot of people already done it here is my attempt on a Microsoft Frankenwinder Forcefeedback 2. Got my hands on 2 other msffb2 sticks and a ch fighterstick, so the experiment had to begin. Managed to do it in a couple of hours, but see for yourself. I'm not totally happy with it since i wanted to do an extension, but haven't got the right idea so far and i wanna enjoy my 16 new buttons already. :D
  15. Oh man i am so happy i was able to grab 2 microsoft ffb2 and a ch figherstick for under 35€ each in the last 2 weeks. But i saw some really ridiculous prices in that time. Like 300€ for the old TM FCLS system, the plastic cougar as i call it. That thing has a gameport plug.
  16. You haven't read anything about the development of the new damage model in the last 4 years it seems. First the sabre and mig are pretty "old" modules which both could need a cockpit upgrade, which they will hopefully get when they also implement everything for the new DM. The DM is all about damage on the plane and not about the weapons which are used. Which part of the plane gets damaged, which systems are affected, could be the airframe, loss of some controls, or internal damage on oilpump, engine, anything. Since all WW2 warbirds are prop planes (sofar and i think the me262 will come when the mig and sabre get the dmg model) and their systems are similar to each other, where there is quite a difference to a jetfighter. It will come for all aircraft, vehicles and ships but time will tell how long it's gonna take.
  17. I think he is on this forum too.
  18. No i don't mean a campaign running, it would be enough to copy the missions into the multiplayer folder and just host it with a little edit. But the campaign maker could do it within the mission and you would get also all multiplayer missions with it. And if you don't have the object mod which comes with the campaign you certainly cannot enter the multiplayer. Like with servers running mods. If you don't have the mod you cannot join. I mean it's certainly meant for something where a few people gather and run the mission instead of running a 24/7 campaign server. There is no need for progression since you could choose any mission from within the campaign or just do it one after the other. Everything else they should consider with the dynamic campaign, but that would be a quick fix so people could enjoy the campaigns which they bought together. One is host the other one joins and now you fly with your buddy instead of the lazy wingman who doesn't understand your radio calls or is unable to do so. ;)
  19. As soon as this one is available its bought from me! Hurry up ED the F5 needs more campaigns!! Also a couple of other modules but that is a different story.
  20. I was reading quite a lot about DLC campaigns and people wanna have the opportunity to play it with a buddy or a squadron. I thought about it and the protection and than there was an idea. Wouldn't it be possible to add a small object for every campaign like something really small like a barrel or even smaller like a can or something. The campaignbuilder place it somewhere in his missions and everybody who doesn't own the campaign, also doesn't own that object and cannot join the server. So every DLC campaign gets its own little object, it's placed in every mission in the campaign and with a small couple of changes every singleplayer mission should be playable for a whole squadron if the designer intends to do it. So if there are different sorties happening like a SEAD, CAS and CAP in the mission you could play it with a lot more people. Would that be possible for ED to implement or is it a stupid idea because i forgot to think about something fundamental?
  21. If this will ever happen, i am going to frame that quote put it up on my wall and treat it like a mysterious shrine. Where people from all over the world can pay a visit to the mysterious miracle that happens just one time every 2000 years. :notworthy:
  22. Just give it another 2 weeks...
  23. why don't you just change the fov for the module instead?
  24. I have only gifted 3 modules so far to a friend because i bought some bundle deals but already had some of the modules. As long as the license is not activated on an account you can give them to another account. You need to visit the support page and do it with an official ticket and it will take some time (couple of hours to a couple of days) till the license is transferred. If it's ok for you that the people receive it couple of days before or after christmas i see no problem at all. It's just that i don't know how the holidays will interfere with the support workflow.
