I'd love an Afghan map or an Iraq map. even if it's purely for fictionnal conflics.

Also, make sure that the trim is reseted to neutral, so you don't have a forward stick application while trying to break.
-
I like your little app. Would it be possible to display the ABRIS and the SHKVAL screens too?
-
Try not to trim when manuvering in combat, unless you want to maintain a straight flight. When I begin to manuver hard in combat, I sometime reset my trim so I can have all the free motion back on the stick and not bust my rotors.
-
I just mastered the new trim. I prefer it to the old one now. It was frustrating at first, since I masted the first one after a lot of work and practice. Now the new one is even smooter.

Anyone can find and post the picture of the digital cockpit of the Ka-52? I saw it once and I was impressed at the giant touch screens. It looked like the F35 cockpit.

Note to the developers for the Apache AH-64A module

Project Reality or ACE mods will probably fix most of the issues. -
¿How are you supporting ED and DCS:BS?

I downloaded the english version. And I can't shut up about how great that simulation is. Even to my coworkers that don't know shit about helicopters or games. -
Or it could be a bad macro file for the trigger. I don't remember the terminology exacly, but it would mean something like "press" instead of "while pressed". The command "press" would send a single signal of X amount of time, while the "while pressed" command would send the signal as long as the trigger is pressed. I had similar problem when I was first programming my Hotas Cougar for Falcon4.
-
That would really put some fresh thing to try in the game! I'd love to play as other factions with their gear just for kick.
-
Poeple manage to fly the Ka-50 with a keyboard? I find that impressive, if he manage to take off and land only.
-
I'm still playing this sim every day, or almost. Last time I checked, I had close to 140 houres of flight on the Ka-50. Now that I've become pretty capable in the chopper, I wish DCS would make expansion for later models. With IR capabilities. I know it's a mather of data availability from kamov, but some things could be made based on educated speculations.

The way I do it, that I find it work well untill I get too close. - Line up the target - Range the first and fire a burst. - Walk the fire to the other targets that are close. - If other target are far from the first, re-ranging sometime get more acurate result. I never hard-lock target. Take advantage of the power of multi purpose explosive rounds. Sometime, 1 or 2 rounds are enough to set veh. in fire. When I'm close and confortable, I use the gun in it's fixed forward position and straff as if I was a WW2 fighter. I use the medium burst mode. If your speed is not suffisient, your aircraft will be rocket out of alignement by the gun recoil, so ajusting with rudder smootly is a must. If target are in visual rage, ignoring the Shkval display and using only the HUD to shoot targets with the piper reticle is better to coordonate aircraft movement and gun recoil. That's how I like to do it.

Really crappy tactic works... fantastic!

They can't shoot trough, but they see trough and will fire anyway. AI shoot each other and at you too sometime. -
How to attack targets while moving forward ?
fox_111 replied to repsol's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Generally speaking, it's bad to hover. In a battlefield, if you stay still, you need to be concealed and or behind hard cover. So if you choose to hover, keep that in mind. When engaging targets in a city or "heavy" terrain, that is hard to get a good LOS on them to shoot. But that does not mean you should not be moving before and after weapon release, to keep you moving as much as possible. That remind me of the stock mission, Clear Tarkelly (Sp?). Ennemies are randomly placed inside a little town. If you pop out of the hills, you get engaged by TOWs and SA-9. I tried many aproach to this mission. The main issue was target detection and threat avoidance. I got the best result while going in at beyond weapon Rmax at about 200 km/h, altitude high enough to see in the village. Target high thread, engage at Rmax and flex out for another run. No hovering, unless you want to dodge missils and waist flares. I don't want to sound like a preacher. I'm just sharing my thought and experience with the game.
