I was flying at m1.7 with 2 fuel tanks and few aim120, i think it’s far from reality , 1year ago was more accurate

You need to provide evidence if you're making assertions. Viewing a Level Flight Combat Speeds and Altitudes (MIL/MAX AB) chart from a relevant F-16 manual the speed you are achieving with that load is in fact within the realm of reality.

  2. So I've used this mod for about two days in VR (Reverb G2 user). While I will agree it is easier to see planes it's also easier to see other things in the air like missiles. That's a big no for me as I currently spend most of my DCS time in multiplayer. Maybe with some tweaking so I can't easily spot missiles in the air from 15km's away I will deem it acceptable.

Its always the same with the Viper and ED. Always a downgrade for the viper. No other airplane gets any realistic update. But the Viper gets it all. The Frankenstein Hornet HARM TOO (find emitters which are emitting for the first time in a millisecond with exact range and location) or MAV Alignment was mentioned so often but no one cares. If there are no data for the Hornet, well thats OK. If there are some wrong data for the viper, go fix it back to the <profanity>ty 1980 pod. Well nothing new so far, got used to...

Yeah I don't think that's fair. If a feature is developed and new information comes to light then you can expect them to iterate. Heatblur did this with the Phoenix, Razbam did this with the loadout restrictions. They should be commended for wanting an accurate representation. If you have something to say about the Hornet you should create a thread in the Hornet forum. Everyone here got engaged with the product knowing that it's a simulator, that means by definition that items will be developed with realisim in mind.

    Conclusion

Overall, the results were pretty much according to my expectations. Huge improvement with same settings and still better performance with better visuals. Also, it was interesting to see better CPU utilization with 4080.

This upgrade was due a loooong time ago. I skipped 2020 due to availability, I skipped 2021 because of miners. At the end of the day I paid same price for 4080 what it would effectively cost me to buy a 3080 a year ago. Is it worth it? For me - I think so.

Nice well thought out and detailed review. Cheers.

    Fantastic Graph! Thanks.

Isn't MED the preferred mode for Cold and Flanking contacts though?

    Nate

High (HI) - High PRF provides extended range detection of forward aspect targets at only slightly less range than VS.

Medium (MED) - Medium PRF provides detection of all aspect targets at intermediate ranges and provides improved range resolution over HI.

Interleaved (INT) - Interleaved PRF combines HI and MED in the same scan volume and incorporates advantages of both modes at a slower update rate between detections.

While MED is preferred for flanking and cold targets the detection range is lower than INT and HI PRF.

I have a question about the steering.

Is there any way to give logic to the Aim120 and other missiles so that they don't head straight into the ground when the target aircraft is flying in that direction?

Even old systems like the SA-2 Sam have a countermeasure against such manoeuvres.

wouldn't it be quite realistic for modern rockets like the 120 to have such a logic?

    thank you for your work

I've been wondering about this myself. Right now one of the most effective methods at missile evasion is to just lead the missile into the ground.
