Cool that you found the problem. WARNING, if you try to open the warthog grip to tighten it up, don't make my mistake and apply too much force to the screw, mine snapped in half and now the screw is forever stuck... I solved it by using epoxy glue to fasten the base shaft to the grip. So far its holding up.

I had a similar problem, I have T-50 base (v1) and warthog grip combo, and moving the stick across the center point would result in a "click" feel and sound. At first I also thought there was an issue with the base, but looking more closely, the "clicking" only came when I was holding onto the WH grip, not when only holding onto the base shaft. So actually the problem was with the thrustmaster grip, the metal shaft that you screw onto the base had come slightly loose from the grip itself., due to a loose screw... I solved it with epoxy glue, and electric tape to remove any remaining gaps.

Project 10 - DCS: A-10C Warthog Promo!
herr_LaSk replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Just curious, but does anyone know what the actual visual differences between the dx9 and the dx11 version would be? -
I believe all the functionality of the CDU can be replicated using the MFDs and UFCP.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
herr_LaSk replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I believe ED has stated that they do not intend to port the aircraft in LO/FC to DCS. It may be they'll release a DCS Frogfoot module in the future, though that might depend upon whether or not they'll get a simulation contract with the military and receive proper documentation. At any rate, I'm getting rather tired of the frogfoot. Old fashion seventies technology combined with same old CAS missions we'll be doing with the A-10 just doesn't really seem worth the effort. -
Awsome!

It depends primarily upon whether ED gets a contract from the military to develop a sim for that particular aircraft and receives permission to use that knowledge to make a commercial simulation of said aircraft. All military weapons have parts of them classified. For example the capabilities of the RWR on the A-10C is obviously classified, so ED uses "best guess" parameters to model the RWR. If ED gets a contract from the navy to develop a desktop sim for the F/A-18E, it might be possible for them to get permission to develop a high fidelity commercial sim based on the documentation they receive, with "best guess" estimates on tactically critical things like radar capabilities, electronic warfare systems and so on.

Perfect stick for A-10C from Thrustmaster?
herr_LaSk replied to some1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Maybe the throttles are interchangeable as well, so we could cheaply get new replica throttles of other aircraft. -
Perfect stick for A-10C from Thrustmaster?
herr_LaSk replied to some1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Maybe Thrustmaster will release a FFB base at some point. The flight stick is detachable, so it should be possible. -
I doubt ED would answer any questions relating to the military side of their products. But ED is a private company, so I guess if any military around the world asks them make a product, they would consider making a contract.

I dont think they plan to support multithreading in this module. I belive it may be some time untill they do this, as it requires rather complex rewriting of the sim engine, or so I've heard.

You rotate when you pull back on the stick during take off. Anyway, it may be the game has bound another control axis to the rudder axis, for example, the y axis on your stick, so when you pull back to rotate, the stick also gives a left or right input on the rudder.

In combat your flying VFR most of the time. That means you dont use the instruments, but primarily rely on visual cues from the ground and the aircraft airframe to determine the helicopters attitude, airspeed and altitude. To determine your attitude for example, you look at the relation between the dashboard in the cockpit and the horison. With practise, its much easier to control the aircraft relying primarliy on VFR than having to constantly monitor the flight instruments for flying. Theres a HUD declutter switch that removes most of the HUD symbology. Great for practising VFR flight!:)

Great, thanks. Do you have any estimate on how long it will be between each lesson?

Any ETA on the lessons?:)

TouchPal - Touchscreen Cockpit
herr_LaSk replied to Gadroc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi guys, I'm having a slight problem with touchpal at the moment. I got the program working and all, with buttons pushes in touchpal coresponding to the same buttons in the sim and so on:). However, often when I load up Black Shark the sim is superimposed over the touchpal window, so I only see the loading background picture of the Ka-50 with black bars on top and underneath. I can alt+tab to touchpal and get the touchpal window to show again, but then Black Shark doesnt recognise controll inputs to the sim. If I mouse click anywhere in the sim, the black shark loading window is superimposed over the touchpal window again. :( This happens about half the time I load up the sim (only the actual sim engine, when the main menu interface is loaded, touchpal shows up just fine), the other half it works as normal. Another issue is whenever I click somewhere in touchpal the windows cursor always shows up where I clicked. Is there anyway for it not to show up when I click anywhere with touchpal? Minor issue I guess, but slightly annoying. Im running windows 7, 64bit with a to monitor settup, a 24" main monitor running 1920x1200, and a LG Flatron L1510BF touchscreen monitor at 1024x764 resolution. (sorry, I'm a complete noob:smartass:) -
Dont listen to these people RICHARDO!! We would LOVE to see a HD version of the Shark PIT! I'm personally getting a little bored looking at the same old cockpit after months of playing, some update to its looks would be great.

1:500000 printable DCS/FC2.0 Tactical Chart (WIP)
herr_LaSk replied to igormk's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The A10C has VOR and ILS systems, frequencies to those would be nice as well. -
The C version is the carrier version, the B version is the V-STOL.
-
Actually I'd rather have the A version. The TM looks like crap with the "hump" behind the cockpit. Besides, with the A-10C, we already have an advanced CAS aircraft. I'd rather have a low tech aircraft and have to learn to survive with the equipment you have.

Start out by looking at the button assignments of the real flight controls in the manual, they should give you a pretty good idea of what buttons you want to have on the HOTAS, and where. :)
