  1. Sorry for necroing the post, but I had this issue and the quoted post fixed it! Thanks!!!
  2. I have Tacview advanced, and ever since the 1.9.0 version, my map view completely freezes after I try to change the camera (external, satellite, free cam). I can still see my playback bar advancing, but everything else is frozen. This basically renders the software unusable... any tips? Well I'll be damned... Installing the 1.9.0 Beta 3 (opting in the beta using Steam) completely fixed the issue.
  3. Issue Summary AI aircraft have a lot of trouble following the player, seemingly experiencing much more drag through all phases of flight. Initial Conditions Create a player-controlled aircraft with at least one AI wingman. A normal loadout can be used (2 FOX 1, 2 FOX 2, centerline fuel tank) although the issue is exacerbated with ''heavier'' (but well under MTOW) loadouts. Actions Takeoff and ask the AI wingman to rejoin. Expected Responses The AI will accelerate faster than the player in order to rejoin with him. Incorrect Responses The AI lights up the afterburner (as expected) but accelerates extremely slowly, way slower than a player with a throttle setting well below military power. It will eventually join up if the player slows down a lot (almost flying at on-speed AOA). If the player accelerates afterwards (at MIL power), he will absolutely outrun its wingman. Other Observations AI aircraft taking off with any significant bomb load will fly constantly at the edge of a stall, and if the bomb load is large enough, they will crash. This issue is also exacerbated when commanding the AI to go dogfighting. They will slow down so much that they will almost be unable to perform maneuvers. It seems like the issue is less visible (for smaller loads) when the aircraft start in the air. Reproducibility This issue is easily reproduced on any map. A track file is linked with the issue apparent when loads are heavy (still below MTOW). You can see that the player aircraft, at MIL power, easily accelerates through 390-400 knots while the AI wingman, with full afterburner, struggles to increase its speed through 340-350 knots. Unfortunately, this issue makes it very hard to use the Mirage F1 in any single player missions. large_load_issue.trk
  4. It's marked as solved, but the issue is still there... really makes it hard to enjoy the module without a texture mod.
  5. I have also seen this issue. It was on Nevada map, if it helps. AI just lights the burner and stays at an AOA that's too high, ends up crashing.
  6. This sounds absolutely reasonable. My main issue with this myth is that players are grasping at straws (a potentially mistranslated anecdote) to justify a mechanic that will make the Hind more "effective" in the game environment. If you want more ammo or an FOB, there are ways to do that in game already (there's even an "Unlimited Ammo" checkbox if you want ), but mental gymnastics to justify something as realistic?
  7. Yes, I'm pretty sure you're right. I'm not going to lie, I'm getting tired of seeing this myth every time the Hind is mentioned... carrying armaments and parts to an FOB is realistic, but extra ammo during a single sortie, in a hot and high environment where helos often flew with a reduced armament load? Please...
  8. Why did you have to create such a compelling prompt?? I want this now! We even have the "Handy Wind" as the perfect covert base...
  9. Oh man, don't play with my emotions like that To be fair, I don't expect to see anything resembling a DC this year. I remember a couple (?) years ago, Wags mentioned that he expected internal betas in 2021. If you add 1 or 2 years to that it's starting to sound a bit more realistic for a release!
  10. I absolutely agree, the Discord is hard to follow and it's not a great repository for info. Especially since they were answering a bunch of questions related to the newsletter and the 2.7 release schedule... It seems like the Mossie schedule will follow other warbird releases, i.e an announcement coming very shortly before release and that's it. I personally like that model, it worked well for the P-47.
  11. Just to temper expectations, Kate and Nineline confirmed on the ED Discord on Friday (26/03) that the Mossie was delayed a little bit and would not release with 2.7, but shortly after. Still a release before the Hind though.
  12. I'm at a loss here. How is it a "bad" thing that ED keeps the same flight modelling standard from other rotary wing modules? Their helos are universally praised as the best throughout all flight simulators. I really do not understand how that standard can be criticized, so maybe I'm missing something here.
  13. I'm pretty sure that's still planned! I've seen it mentioned by Kate I think? I'm sure others can provide the actual source.
  14. You're probably right. I don't really get the "realistic" Shkval demand. Do you want an "actual" contrast-locking TV sensor? The facsimile we have in DCS works pretty well in the context of the sim. I don't think the implementation of the sensor right now is inadequate. I'd also love a Ka-50Sh, but asking for a prototype of a prototype might be a stretch
