  1. Nice work and the price seems good as well, for anyone with a warthog these are well worth the money IMO.
  2. My extension is by 1PL_Sahaj it is 10cm which for my center mount setup is perfect and not too long where you end up putting to much stress on the neck. Take a look at this thread http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2042-selling-thrustmaster-warthog-extensions/ Not usre if he has any left but they are a great addition to a warthog I couldn't be without it now.
  3. Im the same, I have only recently updated my simpeds with a bodner board and some strengthening of the weak spots but I want these badly:helpsmilie:
  4. Force feedback is nice but not for everyone, I have used it and didnt like it all that much, some areas don't really feel realistic to me and it can effect aim. The cost would also surely skyrocket apart from the issue with getting the software/hardware to be at least as good as the MSFFB2 but isn't the design for that copyrighted in some way as well? Of course if you can get the feel of ffb right and combine it with a realistic stick I'm sure there will be many buyers including myself.
  5. Will the limited stick movement of a 109 also be modelled in FFB, so that when flying a 109 you are more limited in pitch and roll than in a Spit, owing to it's split stick? Not really sure that FFB as it is today is necessarily the way it is supposed to be, many of the feelings fed back through ffb may not have been felt in a real plane, as many were felt more through the seat of the pants, and the forces you face with FFB are nothing to what you would be dealing with in real life. Hopefully the sounds will help those without FFB to sense the onset of stall etc.
  6. A re-grease with some M-kote EM-30L sorted my sticktion problems I keep the o-ring well greased and so far so good, but getting rid of the crap grease they use is the best thing I have done for my warthog.
  7. Yeah it makes no difference on my throttle either?
  8. I found it quite easy took about an hour to clean of and then apply the EM-30L grease, the only thing you need to ensure is that you pull the black wire so that it doesn't get nipped when putting things back together, it made a huge difference for me in the smoothness, no sticktion as they were calling it. Next is an extension, but I love the accuracy of this stick as is but want to centre mount it eventually.
  9. Yeah took about 10 h before I could start to regularly land on the rig, but it is good when you start nailing it regularly, seems to be all about muscle memory, and if you have no anti torque pedals or decent throttle for collective that will make it harder, well done.
  10. Once you press the button with the mouse as long as you don't release it your mouse pointer does not need to stay on the button from what I've found, I find all of these switches difficult with the mouse though, luckily I have a ch quadrant and the warthog throttle so plenty of switches and buttons in the real world.
  11. Good old VRS, pops up at the most unexpected times, just as you think you have a tight landing nailed you watch the vsi wind off the clock, that's just before arse meets your elbows.:helpsmilie:
  12. Never f;own a real aircraft but Im finding that after 10 hours in DCS Huey I'm able to land safely on the oil rig 90% of the time and hovers etc are becoming a lot easier, I dont use trim as it tends to confuse me as to where the stick is, but Im used to long flight times in ROF with the Warthog and most of those planes require constant forward pressure so I guess I'm just used to it. I'm loving the Huey I gave BS a go for a while but I wanted to try out a full on helicopter and with VRS etc modelled this bird is a huge challenge but that's what makes it fun, well when you get it right. Can't comment on the FM as I've never been in a real Huey but it does feel right, if that means diddly, damn good product for a Beta.
  13. I bought a Warthog about a month ago, also as an early 50th birthday present after my CH Fighterstick finally snapped after 10 years of use and abuse. I love it, but I did change the grease as advised in other threads and for me that made it smooth as butter.
  14. Just a question when you talk FFB are you planning to create your own controller board, as using the MS board is okay for home use but might lead to problems if you sell the product?
  15. Purchased my Warthog last week and received it on Monday, I have checked the firmware and it is at v11 for the stick and v20 for the throttle, or maybe that is the other way around, I'm unfortunately at work so cant check, but either way they are now shipping with the latest firmware on both devices and so far my throttle is working fine:thumbup: I must say I owned a CH fighterstick for more than 10 years and was shattered when I broke the shaft, but this Warthog has made me forget my past love, it is awesome even when not gaming the stick is god damn sexy and that ice cool metal:lol: I got it for an early 50th and as I said to the wife, even if it eventually dies I can still put it on the mantle piece for show:joystick:
  16. Might be worth running a memory test, you might have a bad stick, even try pulling 2 of your 4 sticks out and see how it runs.
  17. I started out using FD a lot, but as I have gotten used to the finer degree of control required compared to the flight sim I mainly fly (IL2) I find that I rarely need to use FD anymore. I think what helped me was, one, making smaller movements and two waiting until the heli stabilised a bit before releasing trim, there is also the ctrl/enter screen which lets you allow for the lack of force feedback, I tend to trim to for pitch roll and yaw and then use the control overlay to bring my pedals back to center, I think the way the pedals work with trim is the biggest downside of the way the trim system works currently. No harm in people coming up with new ideas on how it should be modelled and maybe one of the ideas above is the right one, all I hope is that you get the option to try out whatever new system ED have planned, or stick with what we have.
  18. I dont believe seperate trim for rudders is possible, but you could use Flight Director mode which requires a lot less trimming. I tend to make sure I have the axis position screen? up, CTRL+Enter, then you can see where your rudders are set and centre them using the information that this screen supplies
  19. CH any time over a stock Cougar, I bought my fighter stick secondhand about 5 years ago and it never misses a beat, nor does it require calibration, the Cougars were a great idea, unfortunately Thrustmaster dropped the ball and used cheap pots and manufacturing processes. III/JG11_Tiger
  20. The B is for your handbrake, slider underneath B is progressive brakes, the A signifies auto route mode
  21. CH Fighter stick and home made pedals and throttle for me, hoping to make a DIY collective when I can find some time.
  22. A licensed version of Il2 is being released for the console crowd sometime this year, IL2 Sturmovik Birds Of Prey, according to the forums at 1C it will have a large portion of the IL2 fm etc. I don't own a console myself(my daughter has a Wii)but I'm all for these type of sims coming out on the consoles, I'm sure theres a few hard core simmers out there in console land that dont know they are hard core simmers yet, the more people we can draw into high end sims like BS the better for all IMHO:pilotfly: III/JG11_Tiger
