  1. Hmmm. I have no Khronos folder at all there in that path. Just an XRNeckSafer folder, and it's empty other than the default and desktop shortcut. No API layers.
  2. I don't think I had any prior installs. This is what it shows: XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_toolkit XR_APILAYER_VIVE_hand_tracking XR_APILAYER_VIVE_srworks XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_XRnecksafer I can only deactivate the last one using this utility. I don't know how to do anything about the others though.
  3. Hi Nobiwan. Sorry to bother you, but I am stuck.

I just installed the latest XRNeckSafer yesterday, in order to be able to check six in the latest DCS World Open Beta (multi-thread, now natively OpenXR instead of OpenVR thus my old OVR Advanced Settings setup won't work).

I could launch the app and bind some buttons, no problem. But when I tried to launch DCS, DCS would crash every time. The only way I could get DCS to work again, was to completely uninstall XRNS.

I have read that some people install OpenComposite too. Is that mandatory just to use XRNS on the latest DCS, which already uses OpenXR natively?

I'm using OpenXR Toolkit also, if that matters. Vive Pro 2 also.

      Hi,

there is still some strangeness going on with XRNS and the new native DCS OpenXR version. For some people it works out of the box and others have problems like you have. I currently have about zero time to look into it, unfortunatly. However, it seems that the SteamVR version of DCS together with OpenComposite usually works fine with XRNS. Even in MT I heard.

OK, no rush, thanks for the reply anyway. I read today that somebody else said it works on their Quest 2, so maybe it's just incompatible with my Vive Pro 2? I never tried it before MT dropped.

Some more data, for whenever you get time: When I select 'Show Active OpenXR API Layers' on the openXR tab, this appears:

      XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_toolkit

      XR_APILAYER_VIVE_hand_tracking

      XR_APILAYER_VIVE_srworks

      XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_XRnecksafer

Also, I found out that OpenComposite is not compatible with the Vive Pro 2, per the dev on their Discord today.

  4. Me too. I just tried it last night for the first time on my VP2, but it crashed the new DCS MT OB on startup. Had to uninstall it to play DCS at all. Any luck yet on your end?
  5. Yeah, I just tried XRNS tonight, but it causes DCS to crash on startup. Had to uninstall to be able to play DCS at all.
  6. I just installed XR necksafer for the first time after this recent MT update. I set up some button bindings, but didn't even get to try it out because it causes DCS to crash to desktop every time on DCS startup, even if I don't run XRNS. The only way I could get DCS to run again was to completely uninstall XRNS. I also use OpenXR Toolkit, if that matters. Any advice?
  7. Thanks, I will try that tonight. How much does it help your FPS beyond what MT alone gained for you? I'm still trying to break even from the 30% loss ED's prior update cost me ages ago. I guess I'll have to find a good utility similar to necksafer that works in OpenXR too.
  8. The bad stuff from today's MT update, for me: 1) The openvr_fsr mod (by fholger) isn't compatible with this update, in either ST or MT. DCS won't launch with them enabled. So I lost a bunch of VR FPS from that, but gained a about the same back from MT, maybe a bit more. I'd really love to be able to use this mod again in MT, if possible. 2) Also, my home-brew "necksafer"-type setup isn't compatible now, so I can't push a button to check six like before. I'm guessing ED disabled SteamVR controller bindings or else OVR Advanced Settings, because it still works outside of DCS.
  9. I'm just using Simshaker for Aviators with SImshaker Sound Module as always. I've never touched the export.lua file.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I always have used the beta, and it is up to date. No error messages, just no shakes (except via test button).
  11. I've mostly stayed away from DCS for the last several months (since the VR performance tanked) but tried it again last night. But for some reason I can't get any SSA shaking in DCS now. Tried updating but same result. I do get the shake from the testing tool, but not in game. Settings all correct as usual. Tried a few different modules, nothing works. FWIW, SSW still works fine in IL-2.
  12. Thanks, this sounds promising for VR. I will try editing the graphics.lua and report back.
  13. It turned out that my cheap-ass transducer was falling apart. So I half-ass fixed it, and that solved my weak-ass shaking problem.
  14. I'm probably an idiot, but I cannot seem to get the current Gripen (AA or AG) to actually fire the gun or release any weapons. The older version worked fine on my old PC. Trigger binding is correct. Safety is toggled. What am I missing?
  15. I took your advice and yes it did work, in conjunction with sikjar's method. Thanks very much!
  16. You can adjust and save your default head position in VR (or non-VR) by pressing some keys. Worked well for me.
  17. Well, that's disappointing as hell. I haven't tried ground-spawn wing bombs again since today's update, but the jettison method did work for me before. You have to press and hold normal bomb release down until after you also push the jettison button (on the left cockpit side wall, NOT the one above the bomb panel). Best to bind them both. And don't forget to open the jettison cover, of course.
  18. I appreciate your frustration, but it's definitely not an "or" scenario here. My reply was not intended to excuse the missing developer information or minimize it's importance. I don't control what info they do or do not share, nor their timelines. But I did have an idea on how to work out our own answer in the meantime, so I shared that in case anyone wanted to try it out. I'd rather light a candle than curse the darkness.
  19. Ah, good to know - thanks for sharing your results.
  20. Maybe for feathering props in the event of loss of engine oil pressure?
  21. Just a half-baked thought of mine: Set unlimited ammo. Fly level straight toward a large building, ideally with a repeating visible pattern (like apartment windows, etc). Hit ACTIVE PAUSE (I "think" the guns will still work) and then start test-firing and noting impact points relative to the sight AND on the wall. Use external view to see where your nose/tail alignment is really pointing on the wall (high/low). Use F10 measuring tool to determine distance. Note any height changes against windows. Travel a bit closer each time until you get to convergence distance. Test separately for mgs and cannons. Or, just practice shooting stuff
  22. Also, the Mossie free flight mission takes like 2-3 minutes to load up for some reason (I only have the Caucasus version). All the other missions are instant-loading, but not this one. Anybody else notice this?
  23. AFAIK, it doesn't matter what you do currently. Warmed engine, or not. Gentle throttle application, or not. It just randomly appears sometimes, usually during take off. I just ignore it and it goes away again within about 5 minutes. No damage is actually happening, but it does give away your position a bit.
