Is it normal for the MFD's to change everytime you switch combat modes ? It's annoying to set MFD's for A-G and A-A and switch and then have to reset them to my preference . Is this how the real world F18 works ? Am I doing something wrong ?

Fantastic work , but I cant help feeling there are more pressing problems with the F16 , namely Agm 88 and A-G radar . Without these it's not a true representation of an F16 and I couldnt give 2 hoots about graphical issues or discrepencies when we dont even have the frickin Harm !

I suppose because EA is work in progress , and software developement is not black and white . There are lists of working features you can view . Its not perfect but it is what it is , the trials and tribulations of buying in early .

Can you imagine running a business and keeping it profitable , yet also plowing money into development , advertising , marketing , the cost of sale of the product , company wages , Director dividends , managing the employees (especially the bad ones ), and then paying for a forum that everyone winges on . And then managing 3rd party modules and sub contractors . All this on a niche corner of the pc community . Holy , ED my hat is off to you ! Anyway where is my F16 external lights ? :music_whistling:

The Falcon/Viper in VR is fantastic ! I fly BMS alot in a squad , and although the Viper in DCS is EA , we all love it . Its EA , so we expect it to have downsides , but we still love it in DCS . We wont be switching to DCS for official nights any time soon but every other night we fly DCS F16 . So in short , if you have VR , its a must buy .I dont fly it non VR so not qualified to say in that area , but some guys in the squad fly it non VR and they love it just as much . With all the answers here its a tough choice but I say buy it .

I would just really like some working lights atm , the canopy can wait for me .

On a side note (excuse my ignorance !) managed to get SRS working today and what a game changer that is in DCS . Not one for using mods in DCS but for multiplayer getting UHF/VHF comms working as IVC is fantastic . And it works in the F-16 ! Wish we found this before , but hey , learn something everyday . More than likely we'll be adding this mod to our S.O.P.

Would prefer smart scaling over improved 3D models tbh . I'll take what I get though .

ATC at the moment is very buggy , hopefully with the carrier development it will carry over to land. The other sim is exceptional in this area ! Hopefully the Dev team are not too stubborn and are willing to fly it (other sim) as it may give them some ideas . I fly mainly online and generally we ignore ATC in DCS because it just doesnt work as it should . My fingers are crossed for further development , but understandably - it's no easy task !

I'm not a poster on this forum , more a lurker . Love the F16 in DCS , looking forward to it getting to the level of the other version . What are the chances of getting better ATC and IVC comms ? Having Tower , Ground , Departure , Approach and proper UHF/VHF comms really add to the immersion ! Having this in DCS would be a great experience , is this something the developers can add to DCS World ? Hopefully it's possible , would appreciate any comments from the developers and the community alike . Thanks Reds

Yes BMS has many good modes , VRS F18 is even better , DCS has only Su25T and many people that play BMS and VRS would play DCS alot more if it had a full fidelity SEAD platform such as Mirage M2000c with ARMAT . There is not really any contradiction as i'm not requesting for a weapon system without any data on how to use it . I am suggesting it would be a good thing to include the ARMAT for the community as a whole . Also i am suggesting BMS flyers would appreciate the ARMAT and would switch to DCS because of it .

Zeus has stated that they were thinking about it . And , an increase in sales and community numbers is not a waste of time , its a big bonus . I'm not wading in on this argument as i really dont care how the final package from Razbam arrives . Its a great bird already and i will put many hours into this ,but if Razbam develop the ARMAT then both sides are happy which equals more money and development and keeps my sim alive .

Every BMS player (sorry to bring it up ) is desperate for a full fidelity DCS module with some SEAD capability , it might not be completely realistic adding the ARMAT to the M2000c but how padantic do we want to be , its a sim after all . You could argue that M2000c should only be flown in French livery . Its not exactly black and white which is why i believe the option should be there . Just think of those sales and the boost to the community , it would be a great trade off , and still within the bounds of "sim realism " .

Here's a suggestion for both sides of the argument . Why not develop the ARMAT and include it in the module as it is plausible after all . Let those that want to use it , use it , and those that dont , dont have to use it . Seems fair to me . Dont get me wrong , i love the realism and i like to keep things as close to reality as possible but DCS is a sim and not reality , and if members of this community want the ARMAT why not allow the option . For me i dont really care either way , i love this French bird so i'll take it as it comes . :joystick:

Is war that static though ? This is a theoretical question btw but if the French were on the backfoot for whatever reason , needed to do a bit of SEAD but only had some Mirage 2000c and a few ARMAT missiles lying around , would they not improvise ?

Turn off easy comms , fix is in the works .

Blue Coalition is on the back foot due to political instability . The situation is now critical and its all too little too late , leaving our forces vulnerable to attack and possibly losing control of the whole region altogether . We are outnumbered and in need of urgent supplies and airframes ! Luckily for us Red coalition is spread thin , and according to our intel , needs logistical supplies urgently . The chess game has never been so tight yet so open . It is time for Blue coalition to be resourceful and make the best of what they have ! Its time for action . We believe they have a supply delivery inbound . Senaki is too close to the front line so our intel suggests Kutaisi is the place to be . We have 4 M2K airframes on station fully supplied and ready to go . Its a dangerous mission but a risk we must take to help secure the region . If this mission fails we have lost to the Reds and significant political gains will be dead in the water . The runway must go down ! 4 Mirage 2000C will take off from Sukhumi and fly through the mountains north and head towards Kutaisi . Fly with radar and rwr off and low , so as not to spook the CAPS . We believe they have Mig29's and Su27's in the area . Also be aware of small pockets of Red Coalition forces along the route , so be vigilant . There may be Manpads and other surface to air threats , so keep your eyes open . Fly the waypoints and stay low! Command suggests a 5nm pop up attack on to the runway to avoid the air defences but we suspect Mig 29's may be on your tail . Do what you must to get home . Intel suggests there might be a major refueling operation going on which might , just , play into our hands . If this mission succeeds we will have time to re-supply our base and create a new foothold in the region , and help bring stability to the indigenous people . As for weapon change D, i have mapped stores select Ctrl + 2 to Ctrl + 5 for quick weapon selection . Also if you for instance select Ctrl + 2 for Magic 2 and find your too close Ctrl + 2 again switches to cannon . This works for all stores command keys . I have them mapped to my Hotas . Just a tip for anyone that doesnt know as i only found out about this yesterday . :doh:
