  1. Vista64 here. The game isnt optimised for 64bit and isnt coded to thread but setting affinity works to an extent. I need to use the batch scripts not the standalone programs but after that its ok - 15fps or so performance improvement when it uses 2 cores instead of 1. No further improvement after that though. Ive also got 4gb of RAM so without a 64bit OS it would be a waste of time having that much memory.
  2. Same issue here, sometimes they light for me, sometimes they dont. They still work even when not lit just i have no idea what mode is currently on and which isnt.

Plenty in fact, this sort of thing is easily split and threaded given the rather inefficient engine does a lot of 3D processing in the cpu, the AI can be threaded separately, the physics modelling separately again. It can be very easily threaded with minimum wait times. The result will be something far more efficient than the linear monolith we have now.
  4. Multi core CPUs are far from new. Dual have been around for 3-4 years now. 64 bit support lacking i can understand due to few people owning 64bit OSs yet but failing still to adapt to 4 year old common technology is bordering on lazy.
  5. CTRL ENTER to view controls is very very useful - not only for that but for working out why pitch response is slow (because its trimmed half way to full already) etc. Dont really need reset with that.
  6. Not really, its a simple fix to offer both options. Extracting the campaign and editing every single mission isnt going to be exactly quick to do.
  7. Possibly but id venture that most people not using easy flight option want to go for as much detail as possible. That involves bringing up all the systems and adds a new element - things you forget or do wrong can hurt you etc. There are already options menu overrides for things like unit of measurement to apply to all missions etc. I'd love to see a "always cold and dark" option as well there. Just a tick box.
  8. Certainly can't see any pilot not doing his own checks and procedures and trusting it to someone else. They dont just turn up, strap in and go. I assume from the above there is no way to set the game to this, which is a shame and defeats the point of a lot of it.
  9. Is there any way to start all the campaign missions "cold and dark"? In most of them you start spooled and ready to go. If not, seems a bit ridiculous having a massively detailed game if a large chunk of it is never needed for the biggest part of the game.
  10. The one thing im still struggling with are turns. FD off and HDG/Bank/Pitch AP turned on most of it is fine but when i try to turn im really fighting it, it stops, it stutters even with trim. If you are meant to fly with the 3 modes on (realism wise) how exactly are you meant to do a fairly substantial turn onto a new heading without it constantly fighting?
  11. Ive had a similar issue with it. Im finding autopilot modes on/off seemingly at random not set by me. Spent a while trying to fly and fight it, found out auto hover was on. After using it flew for a boat, checked and found all AP modes were off. There is no engage/disengage audible warning unfortunately.
