  1. Thanks for the reply. I eventually figured out why things weren't working the way I expected. All I wanted to do was to avoid cycling through cameras. I just wanted to go directly to the camera location I desired and found that I can do most of what I want by selecting the item on the map and then pressing the proper camera key. At first it wasn't working because my TrackIR had F7 and F9 mapped to things I never used so they didn't work as expected in DCS. Once I unmapped those, the DCS World map seems to be all I need to move around more directly.
  2. Place Camera Via Map Or Waypoint? Just wondering if there's a way to place a camera by using the F10 map or by placing some sort of special waypoint on the map. The only way I know to get the camera to a specific location is to basically walk it there through trial and error. I'd like to place a camera, in advance, near something like a target or another airport to which I'd be flying.
  3. Ah, I can see this being a problem.. Just funny that the bomb appeared above the wing.
  4. I have not used DCS World for very long and I am slowly making my way through learning the different aspects of operating the aircraft. Recently, while practicing CCIP bombing, something that seems like it should be impossible happened. The second bomb of my DCS Word career, somehow appeared above my right wing after I "dropped" it and then it did what bombs do, it blew up my airplane! Is this something I did wrong, or just a byproduct of an imperfect simulated world?
  5. I am brand new to DCS and have maybe 5 hours total in the F/A-18. I have been flying the "Straight In" landing training module which puts you down in Kobuleti. As I've gotten better at landing, I've found that I can do a touch-n-go and squeeze in another landing before getting the low fuel warning. I had done that scenario last night but decided, for the first time, to park on the ramp and shut down. I wanted to get out of the airplane so I ejected (is that really the only way to get out?) and started walking around a bit. I wandered down the flight line and came upon the situation you see in the attached screenshot. I went back tonight and saw the same thing. I didn't see any other posts about tanker trucks being jammed into C-130 stabilizers, but it's not an easy thing to search for. What causes that? I can't tell you how much fun I'm having with this simulator and finding things like this make it even more fun. There is also a crew sitting in the C-130 and two people in the tanker truck. There are no other crewed aircraft or other people around.
  6. OK, Throttle (Right or Left) OFF/IDLE does actually work, it's just not obvious how you go from IDLE cutoff into idle when cranking the APU past 20%. I thought you'd start from the cutoff position because (theoretically) that's where you left the power levers when you last shut down. It turns out that in order to actuate the IDLE command, it's actually easier to start with the power lever forward of the cutoff position, then pull it aft into the cutoff position, THEN move it forward to IDLE and that engine will then spool up to idle normally. As long as I don't have to touch the keyboard, that's good enough..
  7. Interesting... Doesn't work like this for me, though I thought it would. I can choose to do either Throttle OFF (Right or Left) or Throttle IDLE (Right or Left) but when I use Throttle (Right or Left) OFF/IDLE, I get neither OFF nor IDLE. I seem to get no action at all. It seems like it wants to be 4 independent mappings for me but I just want it to work, as I imagine the real airplane does, when the APU cranks to 20%, and I lift the appropriate power lever into the idle detent, the engine would spool up to idle. Can't seem to make it do that for now unless the OP describes how to use his "scripts".
