  1. Hello There's some info in https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/171579-fov The basic controls are called "Cockpit Camera". They involve Rght Ctrl+RShft + 8 or 2 or 6 or 4 etc. I'm still trying to find out all the details, but that should get you started. I hope that helps a bit :-)
  2. So now I've got my Reverb G2 and it's all wonderful ! (more on that in a more pertinent thread). I found that if I use "Film and TV" from the pop-up "Start Window" in the WMR "House", I can watch my MP4 videos in 360-degree mode ! This is good, but it's much too big and close up. I'm looking for a way to zoom out. Anybody got any ideas (or hard info) on the ability to zoom out at the "Reverb G2" general-use level? I've got some ability to zoom inside DCS cockpit views, but I need it outside of DCS. I've searched the WWWeb, but most of the finds are about the ZOOM conferencing software!
  3. Hello again BigNewy I guess we're slightly off-topic here (it being "Vive/HTC..." topic). Is there now a continuation for Reverb G2 elsewhere? I'd like to find out what the present situation is (and where you stand on it right now). Particularly interested in why people went for the middle-man distributor ("System..." something, wasn't it) instead of HP directly. Cheers
  4. Hi All I'm about to get a VR headset (and guidance elsewhere in this forum is pointing at HP Reverb G2) What I was thinking was that I would use it as a general video-watching device (like for audio people use headphones when they want to listen privately). That way I can watch (in monoscopic as opposed to stereoscopic vision) my video while my wife watches the house TV. I've been reading a lot about having to use Steam and such to run VR with DCSWorld. Does this mean it's not possible to use the VR headset for ordinary computer video-watching? BTW, is there anything (on these forums or out there on the Big Wide Web) that describes what you have to do to use this gear, like, from opening the box to enjoying your flying? Cheers
  5. Wow - that was swift - thanks :) I'll have a look at the Reverb G2. What is it about it that is attractive (so much that you get a second headset)? Is it just more/bigger/better of what you got in the Cosmos? Thanks again.
  6. Help! I'm tearing my hair out trying to settle on a choice of VR Headset. It's a nightmare going through loads of reviews and reading forum inputs, trying to form a picture of how these units really compare with others at the present time. I was looking at the HTC Vive, the Vive Pro, the Valve index and the HP Reverb (I gave up on the Pimax 5k & 8k after reading some user-feedback comments (Amazon & others) about unreliability and very poor customer support). Then I saw your passing reference "I have just ordered the VIVE Cosmos in the sale" (your posting on 11-30-2019, 02:45 PM) and I thought "Now there's a strong recommendation!" So please can you tell me how you arrived at that choice? What were the things that were top of your list of priorities? What things were not important? Is the Cosmos any better at interfacing than the other makes? I saw that you were "impressed so far," but I was wondering why you opted for a medium-res unit in preference to the HP Reverb (that's the kind of thing I had in mind in my quest to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s in my search). It would be extremely helpful if you could give me some info - even partial points - very soon because my wife has been hounding me for a decision ASAP 'cause our wedding anniversary is on Sept 4 (and it's a big one) and she wants to give me my choice as a gift (it was initially a choice between a flight in a Harvard from Goodwood, a VR headset, or a Pro Weather Station). Thanks in anticipation ...
  7. Does that "taking away as many pilot aids as possible" include the in-flight labels (the 'plane identifier string you can see when the 'plane is 10 miles away). It tried it without the labels and I was amazed at how much more difficult it makes the contest!
  8. I wonder if there would be enough people interested to do a WWII version of this tournament. That would really show off the piloting skills you referred to earlier.
  9. What were the restrictions/limitations imposed on flyers? Hey M0ltar, thanks for putting all this together. It's great that it's helping the anti-Covid-19 cause, but I'm really enjoying it too :) Thanks too for all the flyers who have put on such a good show up to now. I'm learning some interesting stuff, and not just from the super commentators you've roped in. Just watching is worth a bucketful of tips ("patience" came up time and again). Now my big question: what set of playing restrictions were set up? I searched through this forum and couldn't find anything about the limitations imposed or controls blocked off. I'm guessing that the flyers were not able to use F5 : "View nearest aircraft" because that would be a completely unrealistic ability in real life. What about F10 "View A/C on map" - again making life too easy for the pilot who can't see his opponent? Did you have "Pilot Blackout" in operation? Any others that I didn't think of? Having watched all the matches (and practiced in some missions with guns-only against an F/A18 I wish I'd entered now, but anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of it.
  10. Check your "Screen Resolution" in the "Options / System" screen. Things work so much more smoothly if that is set to be exactly the same as the values that your monitor has. I solved my problem (after the "editing the config.lua" trials) by doing that resolution-matching, then the system is insensitive to what you choose for "Full Screen" (true or false). It will start in a small window or full-screen.
  11. Do a Table in a spreadhseet I had trouble with the small section on the Sensor Switch in the DCSW manual for the F/A-18! I did a table in a spreadsheet (ROWS for FWD,AFT, Left, Right & COLS for A/A, A/G, NAV, ALL-MODES) and it was quite a bit clearer. I can have it on a side-screen on a tablet to refer to during the flight (in training though - in combat it would be too slow reading).
  12. Well that's a generous gesture - good on yer :-) The shame of it is that the F-14 is the only one I'm really interested in and that's not included! AND I missed the one-day trial too :-(
  13. Great to see this ... initiative - well done Moltar 2 questions ... I read in you first post, near the end "- In order to complete the round you must last at the airfield in the center of the bubble." I'm guessing that should be "land" at the airfield (or do you just have to last until you get there? :-)). Second: You used the word "brackets" ("Brackets will depend on the number of individuals at signup"). Is that anything to do with the fact that some are entering in Spitfires and some in F16s - a somewhat unequal match! Cheers
  14. Funny how these things go round and back again :-) This one was discovered/solved back in January (14th) this year. See post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4173538&postcount=26 The critical thing is that if you set your resolution (on your "Options" panel) to match what your display uses (has?) then you can go back to using "Full screen" (if you feel the need). Cheers
  15. As far as compatibility is concerned, I wouldn't expect a problem. I have two trackballs: Logitech wireless marble & ELECOM Trackball Mouse M-DPT1MRXBK, They both work a treat, and the Elecom has two fineness settings (switch underneath).
