  1. Wags was saying that Beta 5 is available on Steam............ Lolololololol
  2. If you, ED, refuse to release Beta 6 right now I will have no choice but to... Continue flying with Beta 4.
  3. I've got my x65f trigger mapped via in game controls to initiate PAC and gun trigger. ED seems to have thought that one out in advance as usual. Though I still wish I had a double stage, it works fine without. I just hold about 1-2 MIls below the target. I'm smoking t-72s regularly.
  4. Yea I've got a little play as well. IRL there is no throttle latch so It doesn't bother me.
  5. Yup. Throttle ergonomics took a few days to get used to. The HATs in the front dont allow a full "beer can grip" on the throttle. I now rest my wrist on the base and wrap my middle finger around the front of the throttle. This has forced me to stop hamfisting the control. I still have all the throttle/collective authority I need as I fly DCS BS regularly. I love having instant access to all of the controls on it. A-10C is pretty intuitive to programming. But it takes some time to wrap your head around all of the possibilities in other sims. HATs and buttons feel great but I agree they are easily manipulated and soooo many.
  6. Ok... There's been quite a few reviews out about this. Ive had mine for a week. Just wanted to report in... I love it. DCSWH, DCSBS, LOFC2, XPlane9, FSX I love this HOTAS. Really wanted a TMWH, but couldnt justify the cost right now. Found a "used one day for testing" X65F on ebay and got it for 200 bucks. This stick is simply awesome. The centering issue exists, but it is absolutely unoticable. The Throttle comes a little stiff, but is perfect after a week of decent use. Physical quality, outstanding. Software is the same as X52 for key programming so take it or leave it, but the force sensing programming is great. Ergonomics seem strange at first but become second nature in no time at all. Ive had the stock X52 for about 2 and a half years with no issues other than the usual rotary jitters. This is one hell of an upgrade. I also have the Pro Flight Yoke, Pedals, and Throttle Quadrant. Previous hardware includes the TM HOTAS WCS MkII (?, its been awhile) and TM F-22. I bring this up just so you know what im comparing this to. The only serious dissapointment so far is Saiteks horrible support. There forum has been locked out for new members for over a month and a half. I see no X65F specific threads in there either. I find this very strange. Anyway, Im not trying to start another HOTAS competition thread. Just wanted to report in for those in the market. I love this HOTAS and im very pleased with its performance. It does seem like force sensing is a leap of faith for some. If anyone has any specific questions just shoot me a PM or reply. Happy Hunting
  7. Yea just kidding. Once your good with the tgp you can scan your target area and pick your victim. After that it's pretty easy to use the diamond indicator on your HUD to find the target from a distance.
  8. 1. Depends a lot on threat environment and target. My suggestion is to stay a little higher with a shallow dive. ID target area and plan your ingress. Then set it up. Good generalization is start at angels 10 at about 10-20 deg dive to have ample time to pick target, line up, and level wings. Usually I'll pickle at roughly 2 miles as indicated on the pipper. Break and release flares, just 2-4 to be careful. Turn away and set up another run from a different direction if able. Sacrifice the attack for your bird if it comes down to it. 2. Cannon lag is known issue to be resolved soon. This might be a beta, think I read that somewhere :music_whistling: 3. In not a guru... The talent will answer shortly on this one I'm sure. Happy Hunting
  9. Yea, appreciate it. I'm hoping someone will have the answer here. I emailed the website and even they said they're not sure. I know a bunch of guys have, or have tried both HOTASs. Fingers are crossed because I'd like a set.
  10. Using Saiteks Pro Flight series for over 2 years with heavy use. I like them. Never had any issues with them.
  11. Hey can someone confirm or deny that the Warthog Covers will or will not fit the Saitek x65f? Thanks in advance.
  12. Soooooo... Who's got it up and running yet?
  13. She knows what I want better than I do.
  14. I'm sure my wife got me some bullish*t Christmas gifts... This is what I needed.
  15. KPV 14.5mm mounted on ZPU tripod. Fixed a few in AFG. Nasty gun.
  16. Fly all of them pretty evenly. Probably spending slightly more time on DCS WH because of the learning curve. Still love my shark. LOFC2 for the multiplayer. Really wish WH was online compatible w/ LOFC2 and DCS BS.
  17. Awesome! This is excellent work from all involved. Wish it wasn't java based, I need an app for this if you catch my drift. :music_whistling:
  18. Have been noticing a lot of servers, locked, with 1 player sitting in there waiting for more to... umm... Join? Unlock your servers guys. I'm seeing on average 2-3 up at any time of day and there mostly locked. Sorry just bitchin.
  19. Agreed... I fly Pipers, Cessna 150, 152, 172, 177, and a lovely Citabria. Completely linear control feel. I would add that the "feel" is the magic word. In sims without the "feel" part is where a curved control axis assists. When making very small flight corrections in real world it's more of a pressure than movement applied to the yoke/stick. A very small, 10-20 percent, curve on axis helps simulate this IMHO. P.S. I have screwed around in some multi's and larger a/c like King Air's before and had the same opinion.
