  1. Hello! Quick question - why is the guard frequency not having the same sound effects as the VHF/UHF? Voices sound almost as clean as on discord voice, and it always comes across a bit weirdly. Am I missing some setting? Can anyone advise if I'm doing something wrong? Is it as designed? Thank you!
  2. Oh I see, that might explain why I heard someone complaining about being spammed with datalink markpoints. Must be a switch somewhere that's acting up in my warthog throttle
  3. See the track file here that manages to reproduce it. While replaying the track to check what I may have done, I notice I've turned IFF off and back on again after spawning airborne. We also had a server restart just before and at the moment the previous server closed, my radar was turned off. Then we joined the server again with an updated .miz (correct loadouts) and I suffered from this bug alone (my fellow Viper pilots did not have any trouble) https://www.mediafire.com/file/gfyr3j0z6h44d4e/BVR_FOX_1_Trainingv2-20220922-231233.trk/file
  4. I am getting the same thing, and unable to make the chat box appear.
  5. Bump. Would be cool to know if this will ever be fixed. For USAF it is pretty much the go-to airfield and this bug is pretty obvious.
  6. Thank you @Frederf for an extensive answer. So the bottom line seems to be that there's no gain from doing a complete alignment in the game as long as you wait to reach value 10 on the alignment. Even less point to care if GPS is on.
  7. Hello all! I had originally posted in a bug report thread after being linked to it but it's more a general question than a bug report, so I'm just reposting it here. Hope that's ok. A few updates ago, I noticed that complete alignements in the viper no longer reached value 6 in precision and both stored and complete would just reach 10 and sit there. Is there no longer any precision gain or any reason (other than immersion / realism) for players to use complete alignments in the game? Possible to get a statement on that? I got from BigNewy through discord that "a full alignment to 10 will be more precise than a stored alignment", and I wonder if we can have any details on that, what is the advantage currently implemented in the game? And the original chatter on discord, for full context: Thank you!
  8. Hi guys! Following a question I had on discord, I was directed to this bug report from a year ago, so I figured I'd ask here. See the chatter in the screenshot, for context.
  9. I have the Steam edition, in OpenBeta. I do not own the Harrier module. Whenever I'm near one of those, I don't hear any of its sounds When I go F2 camera on one of them, it's completely silent.
  10. For me I like the glare but I think it's responsible for some heavy blinking / like some instagram filtering going on / off when reaching low altitudes (typically during landing). It's quite visible in the video above at this moment: But for me it's much more pronounced than in the video.
  11. hehe you guys are making it sound more complicated that it is, if you were to press rudder left at 100% and have a heavy foot and by mistake give some rudder right at 10% then it would result in 90% rudder left. No spikes to be worried about, in fact I have spikes right now with the current hack of assigning two axis to one unique "rudder" binding and giving curves to both. It is a quality of life feature that would make it easier to use DCS with a wider range of hardware.
  12. Well your case would not be affected by the feature I'm suggesting. I don't mean to replace the current "RUDDER" axis assignement. I only suggest adding "RUDDER LEFT" and "RUDDER RIGHT" optional bindings in axis menus. Player can then choose if they have combined pedals -> they bind to RUDDER and if they have separate axis pedals -> RUDDER LEFT and RUDDER RIGHT My racing pedals aren't combined, that is the issue here.
  13. Right now I have ability to bind one axis for rudder. In my case as a sim racer and flight sim enthusiast, I use my racing pedals as rudder through some hack of assigning both axis to rudder and using curves to make one only act to the left and the other act to the right. that's far from optimal as I can't be smooth with it and tune the curve nicely. I always tilt the viper during taxiing unless I'm crawling super slow to make sure I don't overturn. I would love ability to bind Rudder Left to a certain axis and Rudder Right to another axis. I feel if DCS were to allow this and communicated about DCS working well with racing pedals, it would allow a lot of sim racers to try out DCS.
  14. Exactly... I wonder why they're even asking the community, as it would feel more appropriate to let the developers decide on the order in which things make sense from an implementation point of view. Unless all systems are completely independant. Also important is the player learning. Like with the current system, players are learning bad habits and will have to re-learn stuff once CZ is added. So in the survey when they seem to separate HARM as a weapon and HARM systems support, it should probably instead be shipped together, to prevent negative learning or a weapon being fired using different methods and systems, only to later receive proper system implementation and confuse everyone. I'm afraid that they follow the results of this survey and that it leads into silly situations like that. I find this survey a bit scary actually, it sounds like they don't really have a plan.
