  1. Re the business model for the release timing you have to appreciate that return on investment is directly related to initial sales at full price. If initial sales are soft, and people wait for a sale, you are in big trouble because even if you hit your number, the return is far lower than projected. This was what we applied to boxed games back in the 90’s. I bought the F15E because it looks outstanding and I can afford to buy planes I may not really fly a lot primarily to support this niche hobby/addiction. I want the wuality producers to do well. It’s in my interest to help them succeed and produce more content. I will buy the F4 the minute it’s out because I’m much more interested in the older jets and the F4 is so iconic. By the way, have we reached the “2 weeks” stage yet?
  2. I'm having the same problem, open beta, up to date, was on yesterday no issues. Win 11 did an update and today I can see other servers just not enigmas. Won't even let me connect direct. says server not found
  3. If you are a real Phantom fan then you are going to get it regardless of the F15E release. You may get both as I will, but I plan on flying the F4E more in the Cold War server. The F15E looks like it's going to be amazing, so I ordered it to support the genre. The F4 will fit into the niche of cold war fighters that are much more popular at the moment because you don't just have BVR missile jousts.
  4. I have only been on ECW for a few weeks and it's the first time I've logged DCS time in a couple years. Absolutely loving it. I would suggest the following as an old guy with old eyes. Wear cheaters of some type. It really helps me. Second, have a button set up to zoom in slowly and the other to snap back to normal view. The first few days online I was able to spot AC usually flying low at high speed but if I got into a dogfight and lost sight I could not ID quick enough and had a couple of Blue on Blue errors. The zoom really helped stop that. The rear aspect only missile setup is actually a good thing for you. Don't go in thinking you are going to scissor with everyone. Set up ambush attacks and work on striking then getting out alive.
  5. Trying to get up to speed on the RWR in the F5E The issue I have is that if I leave the "search" mode off it should display tracking radars, but it seems to be a random thing. I have never received a "lock-on" or launch type alert or even seen an enemy AC on screen other than an occasional F5 or F1. The question I have is that I know this is an old basic RWR so am I even supposed to get a lock-on warning?

What has helped me get past the same problem was to turn onto the center line holding the NWS button and using rudder then try and roll it straight as possible.. keeping NWS down I release pedal input then wait a second or 2 and release the NWS button assuming you are pointing where you want. Seems to work ok for me now
  7. Given that the "Cold War" multiplayer is really strong its disappointing that the F8 never made the cut. It would be a really popular option for the Cold War servers.
  8. Korean Map There are several GREAT reasons to have the Korean Map. The scale is perfect for the game play. The fighting is linear, defined more or less north south. The map is useful for 1950's era AC campaigns just as well as cold war or current Aircraft sets. One thing that people dont think of is that on the Korean map navigation is relatively east so people can actually find where they want to go and therefore find other people to fight.
  9. Great server.. I am getting back to flying after a couple years of other games and I love the Korean era combat. Flew a couple of flights to get my gear setup and on one of them I got into a 5 minute fight with a Mig 15 and it was great fun.. I know it difficult to simulate Korea with the Crimea but it does work pretty well. One suggestion would be to use a terrain feature that's obvious for Bullseye or put some object there so those of us not fully up to speed on the game and find the focal point of the action easier.. Other than that great server..

  11. Korean war aircraft would be a GREAT addition.. B29, AD4, F9F5, P80 F84 All would be easier to build (no radar..) But AI Flight models for the Mig and F86 would be a HUGE plus
  12. There is no intentional difference between USAF F16's and ANG F16's like there is in the export versions of the F16. These are typically pass downs from the USAF The USAF unit that passed them down may have transitioned to a different airframe or they got a later bloc F16 type delivered. A lot of upgrades for the USAF F16's are eventually retro fitted onto ANG F16's For a LONG time during the 50's and 60's ANG units were transitioning from one type to another as the UAF rolled through newer and newer designs. Some time the ANG units got "new" types that were a step back from their previous ride because of availability of airframes and engines. The local ANG unit got F86H's for a couple years until parts got scarce then they switched to F84's Once they got the F106 Delta Darts they held those until they got first generation F15 hand me downs..

  15. Monitor Setup Love the mod.. the immersion factor is off the charts.. great work. I installed the MOD and I do not have VR so I loaded the MONITOR version.. It loads fine and the Huey manual gives me the guide lines. My issue is that I have TrackIR and I'm trying to figure out how to make this work.. if I hold my head still and manually keep it aligned its fine. If I try to turn off TrackIR the view goes off alignment and Up (I think) so I cant even see the boat.. Can someone running this on a monitor give me the rundown on how you got it working .. THanks in advance

  17. The key is to be trimmed out and at the proper speed and altitude to start the downwind. Is you are WAY too high or WAY too fast you will have to have major adjustments trying to force the landing and likely auger it. If you are doing it right the throttle will get a serious workout on the final as you try to maintain flight path marker in the middle of the desk as you close on it There is a throttle lag so you need to anticipate and give corrections without letting it rise or fall to much.. If you start at the right right and you get the slight path marker on the deck middle and are on AOA then your glide slope will be what you want
  18. AOA is maintained by the trim.. trim the left hash of the AOA marker to the middle mark on the AOA cue when the gear is down. The AOA cue itself then needs to be constantly adjusted with throttle to determine where your plane is actually going. So the key I found was to get level and trimmed for a low speed with gear and flaps down.. then start BOTH lowering power (so the AOA marker will start to sink (and the plane starts to descend) and then also adjust on speed AOA to remain in the middle of the AOA cue. So on a trap there are several things happening at once that all need to be in synch. You need the flight path marker on the carrier where the wires are AND you need the AOA trimmed so that you have about 8' of AOA AND your speed and sink rate will let you end up on the deck with survivable forces on the jet:) I try for about 3-4' of glide slope and it seems to work well. DO NOT give pitch inputs once you are trimmed.. use lateral stick for turning and then throttle to wither raise or lower the flight path marker while trimming to keep the AOA centered up.. It actually sound more complicated than it is.

I'm not sure if this is happening just in the F18 (haven't played much else in a while) but I'd selecting a target for STT and getting the lock and the steering dot but the box bounces all over the place.. the steering dot is telling me left and the box is on the left edge of the HUD so I gently move left and suddenly the box is of HUD to the right or low under the HUD. It even happens when I seen the contact dot.. I was wondering if it was ECM but I've put planes that it should not matter and the STT target box still seems screwed up
  20. Ok, I've searched for 30 minutes, seen plenty of phots online but for the life of me I cannot find an Israeli F16C Skin to put on the AI F16C in the open beta version of 2.54 Is there a skin out there?
  21. I have a question. I'd like to be able to create more "Atmosphere" in air ground attacks by have more AAA but less effect.. If I place enough AAA to make it look stressful to fly through it usually kills everything.. Is there a way to create more havoc, tracers flying all over yet overall effectiveness be lower? What I would love is for DCS to add a AAA vehicle that fires non effective tracers to simply add more stuff going on..
  22. Skin Issue I installed the MOD and it works great. The only issue I am having is that I can only see 2 Skins.. Argentine Navy 309 and Brazilian (something or other) I see that there are dozens of skins in the mod but I cannot get them to show up..
  23. Is there any way any more to tone down the ship air defense missiles? I'd like to place several ships in a CV Group but they annihilate every air contact in the area.. I'd like to shut off most of them.. I thought this was possible in earlier versions.
  24. H's were delivered until at least 1973. Bell then used the H to get a certified version for civilian sales as the 205.
  25. Thanks for the reply, I would have thought that porting over a working Pod would have been higher up the priority list especially given that they have the LITENING already working to base it on..
