Hy everyone, I do not see any Syria map room so I post here... On the Wujah Al Hajar airbase the ME map shows 6 parking slots labels from 1 to 6. However when I want to spawn aircraft only slots 4, 5 and 6 are available and 1 to 3 are not shown... Is this a bug or did I do something wrong ? Thanks

Hi everyone, I am using CaptZeen latest F18 profile (thanks to him) with Helios V1.6 (thanks to the developper) and everything work like a charm except for the DDI AMPCD and RWR fonts. On the RWR the symbols are very thick and fuzzy while on the other ones lines and letters are very thin and difficult to see/read. I have checked the forum for this problem and found different threads suggesting that one must change some variables in various Lua files but some informations are in contradiction and not updated... Could someone tell me what should I change and which values should I set. Thanks in advance, Happy new year and happy flying

Hi, Same here. The major problem is that FLIR and AGM65-F tend to lock safety gates, streetlights,... rather than any moving vehicles even with good contrast Thanks
-
Certainly the -E version is a good option to prevent trees/plants DCS bug but I was interested in the -F Especially when we know how easy it is to correct that... Of course I didn't see the DCS code but probably they check for "things" around the designated position and it's just a matter of 3 lines of code to ignore not desirable objetcs. I did that in Lua code for other puposes. You could argue that if the code ignore trees by default we could lock target in forest. Wrong because if we do not see the target on the FLIR we cannot designate it. Hope they know about this frustrating bug...

Hi again, Working  Probably I was in WPDSG mode when I tried and unfortunatly in this mode it doesn't work. Thanks Tom

Hi everybody, I think that the major problem is that Mav seeker tends to lock on everything (trees, roadway guardrails, public lights,...) BUT moving vehicles... This would explain why it might work pretty well in some places and completly fails in other.
-
Hi, I did that but was not able to display the arrow course on HSI. Will try again and report. Thanks

Well I tried and tried and tried again well within Mav range, target in front, good tracking (like the attached picture already posted) TDC depress or whatever this does NOT work for me. I really wonder what would prevent the Mav seeker to switch to the tracked vehicle in the attached picture!!! It's very much efficient to take control of Mav head seeker (and then it works) than to use in conjonction with FLIR. I give up with FLIR/AGM and wait for something that works and not randomly works... Thanks anyway

Hi everyone, I come back to you because IMO (but I might be wrong) there is something weird with the TGP and FLIR. First I noticed that it is much more easy to lock and track (PTRK) moving vehicles at larger (less zoom) FLIR FOV than at smaller one (more zooming). That seems strange to me. Now concerning my problem althoug I was able to lock Mav to PTRK target the right sequence is still not clear to me... The only way to lock the Mav Seeker to the PTRK target is to switch back and forth the SOI Mav/TGP (till it finally works) but the sugested TDC depress sequence does nothing or may be I should wait longer... I am also wondering about the interpretation of the diamond (FLIR center ?) and triangle (MAV seeker) symbols on the HUD. On the attached pictures it is clear that the FLIR is in PTRK mode but the HUD dimand does not reflect the position pointed by the FLIR at all (the vehicles are close to the alpha symbols on the HUD in the FLIRMAV1, take care that pictures are not attached in the right order). Another try (FLIRNAV3 picture) shows the same. I would think that the diamond should be at the tracked vehicle position... Shouldn't it ? Or is it because of the "not updated position" already discussed ? Comments/ideas ? Thanks

Thanks Guys I think I did try all possible combination LOL Will try again and let you know.

Hi Everybody, Thanks to all for help and tips BUT did you ever try this recently ? I tried following exactly the suggested procedure on a convoi progressing on a coast road more or less free of anything else - FLIR tracking easily a vehicle - Mav Im uncage, FOV small TDC depress does absolutly nothing. I am not even speaking about Mav seeker tracking... I mean that the Mav seeker diamond stay exactly at the original place even with repeatydly TDC depress althoug the FLIR is still tracking the vehicle. The only way for me to reset the Mav seeker to the FLIR tracking position is to cage uncage while DCS depress does nothing. I am runing the lastest DCS béta and a friend of mine reported the same behavior. Can someone try again and report ? Thanks again.

Hi, I think I was not clear enough...My problem is NOT with the FLIR designation of a moving target in PTRK mode. It works perfectly It IS so to say to "transfert" the FLIR PTRK target to the AGM. I just do a SOI from the FLIR page (right DDI) to the MAV IM page (left DDI) but although I am within 10nm from the target with good contrast the AGM does not lock. If I do NOT get a good AGM lock and I must TDC depress again, which one must be SOI : the FLIR or the AGM IM ? Anyway I will try again. So another question: let's immagine that the following is working: FLIR PTRK target transmitted to the Maverick, good lock and fire. Now what should I do to fire another target ? - SOI from AGM to FLIR - Designate another PTRK target - SOI from FLIR to AGM and fire again And so on. Right ? Edit : Thanks for the video. The guy seems to have a lot of problem to get proper lock of the AGM seeker although it worked better in the desert try... Will try that.

Hi everybody, I have read many threads about the FLIR and AGM65 but it is a bit confusing to me especially as I am talking about the -F (IR) version and not the -E (laser) version. The idea here is to use the FLIR to target a moving target (|| symbol that follows the vehicle) and then SOI to the AGM FOV to fire it and then quickly switch to the next vehicle in close proximity. The problem seems to be that the AGM targets the ground and does not follow the vehicle. Also, the AGM's auto-steering seems to be locked and you have to "unblock" the FLIR to get your hand on the AGM. Worse still after the first shot, the AGM FOV reset to somewhere I don't even know where and it's a nightmare to find again the next vehicle. So I would like to know if there is something I am doing wrong or if it is like that in the current state (as I understand it) and if ED is working on correcting the joint FLIR/AGM IR operation. Thanks

Hi, Sure although this is not the question. Thanks anyway

Hi everyone, Everything said in the title. Tried but doesn't work. Is it just a missing functionlity or it is not possible in RL ? This could be a nice feature if for exemple you anticipate a convoy path and want to attack them from a direction aligned with the road path.

Hi Ramsay, Brief but better than nothing. OK thanks Thanks Right Many thanks Ramsay

Hi everyone, I have a "potential" problem understanding the information presented on the SA page. To summarize, it is a simple mission where I have to destroy a column of some vehicles containing among others as AAA defense a Shilka and an SA13. The idea is to use both the SA page and the FLIR (in this case the small square of the sensor) to try to locate the convoy. At the beginning the SA page is free of any threat and at some point when I approach the convoy: - a circle of threat appears on the SA page - I then match the location of the FLIR sensor with the threat circle and look around at the FLIR but nothing ... - In the end I get shot by the SA13 whose location does not coincide at all with the position of the threat circle in SA... I specify nevertheless that the RWR information are coherent. Hence my questions: -Q1: Is there a doc that describes what to expect regarding Ground-Air threats on the SA page ? -Q2: When does the threat circle appear ? -Q3: Is there a difference between fixed and mobile Sam ? -Q4: If mobile Sam is detected, is the position supposed to be updated in real time depending on the movement ? -Q5: What determines if a Sam threat placed in the mission editor is known at mission start or not? On the F10 view below taken a few seconds after I got shot you can see: - the position of the convoy at that moment, convoy arriving from the crossroads in the middle/bottom of the screen before crossing the small town just west from the bottom of the screen. - a position 9M333 which I think corresponds to the position of the threat circle on my SA page. I understand that it might not correspond exactly with the location of Sa13 whose path is quite far from the marked position but I don't understand why the position seems to be frozen at the moment the threat was detected... Thanks

Hi everyone, Lets' suppose that I would be interested to create a group what would be the MINIMUM information to provide in the data table ? I am refering to this table : https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/DCS_func_addGroup Same question for the Unit part. Thanks

Hi, I am completly confused with Static Object... I thought they were inactive but if one spawn a STATIC Vehicle it shows a life bar and can interact in DCS world... So if one want to script something it it considered as : - Static ? - Unit ? - Group ? Thanks
-
Hi everyone, I am a little bit lost with the static object enum... According to the documentation the for a static objet the getCategory return a enum which is StaticObject.Category = { "VOID": 0, "UNIT": 1, "WEAPON": 2, "STATIC": 3, "BASE": 4, "SCENERY": 5, "CARGO": 6 } But according the addStaticObjet the data is local staticObj = { ["heading"] = 0, ... ["category"] = "Fortifications", ["y"] = 621528.57142856, ["x"] = -294100, ["dead"] = false, } And as we see here the category is "Fortifications" which has nothing to do with what would be return by the getCategory on such an object... Which function should I use to get "Fortification" (or plane, helicopter, ship...) and not "STATIC" as the getCategory would return ? Thanks
-
Hi Grimes, Tnaks a lot. It works. BUT I tried the same with "Category" Tried with Object.Category[categoryId] but can't get it working... Any similar exemple ? Thanks
-
Ho sorry I was speaking about scripting possibility. Thanks anyway.

Hi everyone, is it possible to accsess the mission scoring variable with script ? Thanks
