  1. Hi everyone,

    I look at Wagg's video about radiochat in 2.9 but with the Apache exemple I am a lttle bit lost with the F18.

    Can someone explain the difference between the Intercom and radio (comm 1 & 2)
    In particular I know where to deals with Com 1&2 channels but where can we set the intercom frequency ?
    Also where one can setup the PTT shortcut for com 1, 2 and intercom ?

    This may seem like a stupid question but now that patch 2.9 offers new graphics options, I wonder how these coexist with those that you can already choose via the OpenXR interface during the game (via Ctrl F2) ? I have the impression that some choices are already offered... Do the options offered in the DCS interface inhibit the options chosen in OpenXR, are they cumulative,  something else?

    I know it's impossible to read every message, especially at the moment with all the feedback on patch 2.9, but I'd like to draw your attention to the rest of this message, which summarizes the problems that many LeapMotion users have been experiencing since the 2.9 release, namely a much less precise virtual hands cockpit interaction than in version 2.8, due to the fact that you have to dig your fingers deeper into the mesh, coupled with an kind of offset.

    I can confirm what edmuss and A.F. have reported, i.e. that the problem mentioned occurs when the Leap is validated from the "Special" page, but that the behavior is the same as in 2.8 when validation is performed via the VR tab (no need to press the virtual hand deeper into the mesh, no offset and the precision of 2.8 is restored).

    As far as I'm concerned, if the "OpenXR Support" option is not enabled in the UltraLeap Control Panel settings, the Leap is not proposed in the VR tab (but only in the "Special" tab). So I wonder whether the improvement really comes from the VR versus Special tab, or from checking "OpenXR Support".

    In any case, it's clear that the use of virtual hands is buggy in 2.9, but the information above should help you to make the most of this new feature in the next patch..

    Otherwise, the sliders are really nice and very practical. Thank you.

    Finally, I think I speak on behalf of all the users of the Leap by asking once again that the interaction of the virtual hands with the virtual hotas, sources of problem (disappearance of hands) be removed...

    If you want to test jus try the following in the F18 :
    - On RDDI try on the midlle lower button and you will see that you can activate it putting your finger not just on the button but also below the button.

    - Try with the bingo fuel button. Fraction of the time you will activate the button above and NOT the Bingo one.

    - Try with RDR TRIM button. Impossible to push it if you put your finger on it. You must put your finger in front to achieve it

    These are just a few exempes that were no problem in 2.8. 

    I get the impression that there is a kind of offset of the "touch zones" with respect to 2.8  and as Apostle pointed in the other thread, 
    Button interaction occurs when the finger is much deeper into the mesh than it was in 2.8 causing inputs to be much less accurate, especially where buttons are close together (like the Bingo exemple).

    I suspect that the special leap motion tab might be phased out and removed in future betas.

    Do I understand correctly that setting hands leap via the VR tab you get 2.8 hands/cockpit interraction behavior ?
    So you cannot take advantage og the 2.9 leap sliders ? Right ?

    Agree with your conclusion with also a kind of displacement.
    One can activate a button pressing just below it.
    Probably the reason why if one click somewhere with a button/switch above it the action is erractic (typically what I was saying for the bingo button on the F18)

    First thanks for the patch with big amount of work

    Howerver virtual hand interaction via Leapmotion (ultraLeap in fact) worked quite well, at least for me in version 2.8, with a success rate close to 95% on buttons and switches all over the F18 cockpit. Since version 2.9, the interaction is completely broken.
     - interaction with buttons no longer works or works erratically
    - when by some miracle I manage to toggle a switch, it's impossible to do the opposite action.
    - touch seems to be out of place on some buttons. For example, on the F18, when I activate the bingo button, the one above is activated (when it works).

    Please DCS give us back our hands... 

    And by the way why don't you removed the "hands move the hotas" function ?
    Going through the forum it's clear that NOBODY will NEVER use it!!
    It's just a nightmare that introduce the "hand diseaoearing" bug!!

    Please go on with usefull things.

    Does the leap work for you in 2.9 ?
    Certainly axis sliders are handy but, at least for me, hand/cockpit interraction was working like a charm  in 2.8 but is completely broken in 2.9.

    - Button interraction is erratic if any
    - interraction with button seems displaced (at least in the F18 like for the Bingo fuel button for exemple)
    - it's sometime possible to interact with interuptor but when I switch them then impossible to interracrt again...

    Please give us back our hands 🤪
