  1. This is the stuff you would feel way before you saw it. How are those air bladder jet seats for subtle stuff like this, he asked while his wallet weeped.
  2. No, a real person needs them, Jester is part of the game. He knows things without looking at gauges. Otherwise he would set them up correctly.
  3. That’s because he doesn’t need them. Presumably when he flakes out on you during low speed maneuvering he arms the seat as he’s ejecting.
  4. Probably because they don’t own a set. Same as how Force Feedback support was stalled for a while because they didn’t have a working FFB stick for a while. I’m sure they would love if someone sent them a set to develop with.
  5. Is Jester just running the same as the auto chaff switch setting in the back? Or is he thinking better? Because auto blows off chaff at missiles in another time zone.
  6. Lost PLA to aluminum works quite well.
  7. Just go ask any Viggen pilots about feature completeness. Or worse any Razbammer.
  8. What peer AA threat is there today? We’re still just bombing randos in the dessert Shooting RC planes at us.
  9. The F-5 has an actual working gun camera?
  10. I mean, they had to put a Gun back on the F-4 because of this. It’s good, for a 1960’s value of good, but the Phoenix was made for the very reason that the Sparrow was limited by its primitive guidance. And the AMMRAM was made when they could fit a better system than the Phoenix in the Sparrow form factor that could talk to more radar systems.
  11. oh that’s right! It’s AA missiles I was thinking. Can you tell how often I’ve been flying anything other than the Tomcat?
  12. Why does AF cause stuttering in VR should be the real question. AF these days is basically a fixed 100% setting that devs should just plan on being there. What’s wrong with the VR implimentation?
  13. Spot the Air force Cockpit doctrine pilot.
  14. A toggle is only half a toggle to DCS. When DCS says toggle, it means button. A toggle switch is just a button that’s either pushed or not. So set the pushed direction to the corresponding open or closed, then set the other command to that “buttons” “off” state. I’ve been on an input mod for a long time now. (Because “once we’re out of early access we’ll add the commands” is just a nice way of saying figure it out yourself) Manually setting an “off” case for a button is DCS not some mod right?
  15. The missile knows where it is because it knows where it isn’t. But with the Sparrow it doesn’t KNOW where the target is, only that the target isn’t where it is. Once it loses the target reference, like a gold fish, it has permanently forgotten there was a target, and where it would last have been. They got approximately smarter as time went on to attempt to re-acquire the signal. But were very limited. Almost Sidewinder level limited in sensor search patterns. A Radar can keep tracking a target, but the sparrow is un-able to look at it if it loses sight. So you’re still tracking, but the Missile lost the memo. Making the sparrow smarter was basically making the AMMRAM there’s a reason they’re basically the same form factor.
  16. You may have a conflicting binding somewhere. When you say “trim” do you mean the “trimmed center” or do you mean the actual numerical value the sim has for the trim itself? That is to say, where it’s putting the little trim mark on the control input popup. Or where in DCSBios it’s outputting a numerical trim value. Also are you using the Rhino’s own FFB or DCS’s DirectInput FFB? If the answer is both, that could also cause an issue like that.
  17. Until you see it mentioned as fixed in the patch update, it’s still, not again.
  18. You wan’t actual immersion, get a friend and run with a real RIO. Jester is just an interface for a single pilot to operate a two crew aircraft. It‘s not an advanced general AI model meant to replace a skilled individual. If you enjoy single pilot in the hornet, that may be a better fit for you.
  19. I am a backseater and can back up the low “resolution” of the ins is whats doing it. No big deal with a back seater, but not 100% hands off with jester. Welcome to flying with histories FIRST Integrated Circuit computers. You need tenths of a second to perfectly put a bomb down a smoke stack without having to manually target. The Target pod can do it, but the Tomcat can’t tell it to.
  20. Wish all FFB was better, but with low install base it won’t be a big focus until more Hobby level products come back to market. Hell Even Heatblur themselves don’t always have a working FFB stick to develop with. The current best deal has a 1 year wait list. And everything else is either a roll of the eBay dice, or Industry sim level equipment, at industry pricing. When the buy in gets as high as FFB racing wheels expect big improvements, as well as hopefully moving away from 1990’s DirectInput FFB protocols.
  21. It’s social media, Backlash is both a given, and an intended feature of all ad monetized platforms. The F-4 will not be universally loved. It doesn’t fix your mistakes.
  22. Try doing a full Repair, when weird stuff like this comes up that nobody else reports it’s a good practice. Updates don’t always go right for reasons….
  23. Reviewing and/or PRINTiNG out the documents with a Reflected campaign is mandatory. It fills my 1990’s big old game box full of feelies heart.
