  1. Now I regret I didn't bought Viggen on (steam) sale. This radar is awesome.
  2. Also same here. Using X56, mini stick on throttle set for TDC axis and Mavs can't be used at all as even without moving it uncaged visual is going crazy. If I disable it and use directional keys it is better.
  3. Myth is that Steam receives updates later. Both are up to date to same version is same time. Standalone will be allways without any 3rd party cuts, different DRM or so. Steam will allways have it's own DRM so game mods are not compatible with each other. There are 0 restrictions regardless which version you play. Steam, standalone doesn't matter. All players can fly together. For most people it is obvious choice to play on standalone. I prefer Steam for single account for more games. Don't like idea to have different purchase platform (also don't get why purchase is bind to purchase platform rather than game account). Also for security reasons and own convinience you probalby already have authorized payment on Steam so no need to add another. This is really personal opinion and no ody should force you and tell you what should you pick. None are better or worst, it's just your own personal choice which you will prefer.
  4. Tested it yesterday and actually it work with other missiles too. Of course it is designed to assist with 9X with it's huge tracking angle. 9M did have some assist to aim slightly above or left/right side but with 9X it is really awesome tool. Flew into dogfight with 4 MiG-29 and managed to shoot 3 of them down immediately and 1 got damaged hard. Really awesome tool. Happy it has been released so fast so I can feel even more like a true modern pilot in VR. Unfortunetly that render on the right eye only thing makes it less usefull for some people. Personally I don't have problem but still more and more people are complaining about it. I hope when IR Mavs will be released they will add also an option to aim with JHCMS.
  5. I am mosty excited for Tomcat that will (I hope) fill the hole that Hornet left in my heart. But for Hornet I mostly wait for TWS and IFF (so I don't have to spike everybody). And Hornet will really need HARMs and Mavs as soon as possible.
  6. Not much. Liked it for carrier ops and really nice navigation and currently implemented systems but for combat I'd rather pick F15. Recently bought different plane to play full fidelity fighter because this is too much unfinished and have lot of bugs.
  7. FC3 planes are fun. I like the most F-15C. Awesome air superiority, 8 AMRAAMs shoot at once toward 4 different targets is awesome. Also the speed if you like going really fast, a lot of fuel if you want to stay for long time in air (but still need to manage the throttle). Second awesome plane(s) is Su-27/33. Russian counterpart of Eagle, long range thermic missiled, even some AG and of course data link. You won't regret buying FC3 if you don't mind planes that you control over shortcuts instead clicking. Good starting full fidelity plane will be Mirage. Great fly-by-wire, great maneuverability and very nice navigation (autolanding with ILS is awesome). If you want more sophisticated plane but still easy to fly, go for Vigge but it has completely different radar and you won't do much AA. Though I don't recommend Hornet as in this points it is missing to much useful things like TWS, ILS, better IFF and it is only good for navigation (very pleasant flight model and autopilot but unfinished). Hornet win over every other plane for carrier ops so if you want to fly Navy style you can considered this plane but I'll rather wait for Tomcat for that.
  8. Flying Super Hornet is the only thing I would love more than flying regular Hornet (an maby Tomcat). And we could bring even more shootas onboard this nasty bee.
  9. Played with labels when started DCS and was learning on Flaming Cliffs planes. Right now I play sim planes and the game is full sim, no labels. Regardless if I see well or not. Even in VR. More fun and immersion
  10. Hello. I play DCS for a while and allready became big fun. Started with Flaming Cliffs (really like those planes but sadly no clickable cockpits there) and later purchased Hornet with Persian Gulf to get the "full experience". I've started thinking about purchasing something more than just FC (which probably most of players have or just ignore, because those planes are "flat") and single plane + map pack. So I'm starting this thread to hear out some guidance from more advanced players allready having more planes. Let me start with some referrence what I like to fly and what I don't intend to fly. I've allways been more into AA then AG. I'm not really enjoying bomb runs or even hate more gun/rocket strike. I really like to fly MiG-29 full dogfight style, F-15 full BVR or any mixed F/A-18 styles (dogfight or BVR). Also I don't like WWII or demilitarized planes and not a big fun of Cold War period planes. I'm mostly eager to fly planes around Gulf Wars (first and the second, I like operations Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom) or any "modern" conflict. Is Nevada good option to consider if I allready have Persian Gulf? Also the Combined Arms module, I'm not really getting it. It tempts but will I benefit from it if I'm only into planes and air combat in this game? Also if you have good arguments for considering AG and not only focusing AA just leave your comment also it might help me to fight my AG intollerance.
  11. Hard choice. I would really love to see Air-to-Ground RADAR and Guided Bombs. Also big fun of TWS but the most I think I wait for is JHMCS cause I play on VR and it would be awesome to feel like having real pilot helmet with integrated display.
  12. Hi. I have some serious issues with performance of DCS. I run DCS 2.5.2 and it was installed that way (no upgrade from older versions). I'll start with my specs: Intel Core i5 6400 16GB DDR4 RAM (2400MHz) MSI Radeon RX 580 8GB OC Armor SSD on SATA3 I run the game on medium settings on 1080p to get decent framerate and I have to tweak it a lot to play on my native 4K display. Also when play VR I need to lower the details a lot to make the game look ugly (like in 90s). Yesterday first time tried to fly with some people online and the game worked terrible. On low details in VR I get like 15 FPS max (even less). Constant freezes when head tracking and after couple minutes game just crashed to desktop. I know I don't have high end specs but still decent machine and as I read more and more it should run smoothly on ultra at 1080p and should have no problem running high at 4K or go VR without any compromises. What can I do, check, change, upgrade or anything to make the game be really ejoyable in multiplayer? I really need to use VR because flying fully clickable cockpit plane without head tracking is hard and less enjoyable, also VR makes sim experience full.
