  1. You will only learn how to "Buy the farm" :music_whistling:
  2. "Dying repeatedly until you get the hang of it is part of its ''charm''... and dying intermittently even after you do." That pretty much sums it up for me zhukov032186! This is certainly my circuits and bumps module. Short body/light weight tail-draggers are a bit spicey on the ground. I can remember flying in a Renegade Spirit which seemed to try every thing it could to go in the direction it wasn't pointing! Ron, I'll be on around 9ish, have had to replace the cable on my aging CV1 so have not flown for a while, and the I-16 even more so, could be a comical event....
  3. Sometimes a little bit of throttle can help, but you gotta be quick on the peddles and keep something on the horizon in view as a reference to spot the start of a yaw. Just take that pirouette as a flourish at the end of your landing, Ron. If it's always in the same direction you can say it was intended :D
  4. Nice, prolly be a bit quicker as the U/C looks more clean when retracted.
  5. Yep, a nice Yak-50 like this would be great! :pilotfly:
  6. It is quite a challenge for sure, but great fun. I've not done as many touch'n'goes in all the other modules put together than I have in this, and found it a great way to get better.
  7. But that is not the issue with the flight model, negative AoA is, and in an aerobatic trainer, it's kind of important, but whatever....
  8. I just tried it after the update and it works fine. Did you forget the 3 switches on the right of the panel? It's not in your list, hope that's all it was.....
  9. Exactly, it's an issue with negative AoA, at a certain point the tailplane is not producing any force to correct the pitch attitude toward the direction of travel (or the wing is producing too much drag forward of the CoG), the rotation continues then noticeably stops and holds the pitch at a fixed attitude. It ends up looking like the yak is descending with an invisible parachute attached to the underside of the fuselage.
  10. Thought I'd chime in on this one and confirm that there is an issue here. For me the Yak will actually depart from the direction of travel, only when inverted and regardless of throttle setting, after any negative flick maneuvers, be that in level flight with substantial airspeed (outside flick) or at stall (vertical flick) It's as if the tail-plane becomes non-effective. Same maneuvers but positive G and it's a right job to get rotation to continue sometimes, but never any uncontrollable pitching. I'll take a look at the tracks when I get home to see if you have the same issue as me.
  11. Was thinking the same, still... the post count is going up :D
  12. As one of the 3 FragBum mentioned on the aerobatics server, the Gaz is a blast to fly (was the first time I'd tried the minigun version), trying to out fly each other or cause your pursuer to crash into trees. I'm a Yak guy myself and this is the only Heli I have (so just love flying and am not into the weapons side of things), but am tempted by the Mi8 at some point. Where's that BO-105.....
  13. With you on this 100%. Having tried to write a flight sim myself, I can see the yak has some amazing flight characteristics for a sim, it would be sad to leave the little quirks and omissions to fester. Maybe we need to bump up the post count in this part of the forum? I say go post your flights in the Screenshots and Videos section started by Nealius, let them know there's an appreciative crowd waiting here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218190
  14. I usually takeoff/land with no flap and forward slip on landings due to this with the aim of holding the nosewheel off the ground as long as possible from touchdown :smartass: If you're into doing aerobatics, what are your thoughts on the stall? It seems to me the CG is a little aft there too. Has anyone noticed how floaty the Yak is when dead-stick landing? If only we had a CG adjustment slider..... :music_whistling: Besides these quirks I love this mod :D
