  1. All too true. What I called Mk-76 practice bomb I believe you called BDU-33,lol
  2. As a 6531 Marine Aviation Ordnanceman (USMC '80-'88) I have loaded my share of MK 82's equipped with snakeye fins. There is a small steel band the holds the fins closed. A Brass arming wire runs thru a clasp on this band and to an arming solenoid on the bomb rack that is mounted on the MER/TER. This was to give the Aircrew the choice of dropping it retarded or unretarded. The ejector racks on the MER/TER released when a CAD (Cartridge Actuating Device) was fired, opening the hooks and extending a piston (about 5") that ejected the bomb away from the rack. The arming wire was not pulled out of the retention clasp until the bomb was 2 to 2.5 feet from the rack.
  3. "In the video we also featured the Zargos mountain regions in the east." Cool, So I'm guessing Diyala Province being included. I spent the end of '04 and most of '05 there. I could step out of my CHU and see the Zagros Mountains to the east.
  4. I Wish I had thought to look there. Instead, this is the thought prosses that brought me to that conclusion. I use OvGME, so I disabled all of my Mods. Then I ran the full (slowest) Repair option in the start menu, Eagle Dynamics folder. I still had the problem. Next, I went into my saved games folder, Cut my DCS World folder out and moved it to my desk top. I then ran DCS world , which created a new folder in Saved games folder. The problem was gone. Now I knew the problem was in my old saved games folder. But where? I opened a window with my old saved games folder on the left side of my screen and another window on the right with my new saved games folder. Next ,one at a time, I copied an item from my old DCS World saved game folder , pasted it into the new DCS World saved games folder an let it overwrite the new Item. I then started DCS World and checked to see if the problem had returned. When It did, I knew my problem was in the last Item I had moved into the new DCS World folder. In my case, it was the Options.lua ,so I deleted it, ran DCS so a new Options.lua would be generated and check to make sure that fixed the problem again. it did. I am lazy by nature and did not want to have to redo all of my option bindings. So now I compared the two .lua files line by line until I found a difference and fixed it. Problem solved. Maybe this post will help someone else track down a problem they are having.
  5. Well, color me a Dumb*&%,but I found the problem. C:\Users\xxxxx\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config In the options.lua Line 49 ["optionsView"] = "optview_onlymap", So I launched DCS, Opened the options / gameplay menu and under F10 view options switched it to All. Problem Solved.
  6. In some Modules I can get fairly close. But in others, like my new Mirage F-1, I always over overshoot . No matter how long I wait between inputs it is always too much.
  7. Title says it all. I searched this in "everywhere" before making this post.
  8. I second the above! I am learning to fly the Mirage F-1 and would love to relabel my switches. Then do it again when the F-4E gets released!
  9. Thanks for running that check. So, I gutted everything and reinstalled. I must have missed something last time because it works fine now. Now to rebuild again....Hope third time is the charm!
  10. I have 2 installs , Vanilla and OpenBeta , with .exe shortcuts for Vanilla, Open Beta and OpenBeta MT. F10 works in Vanilla but not in either of the OBs. I have disabled anything in OvGME and even went so far as to uninstall and reinstall OB, still no joy. I even tried reassigning to another button instead of F10. No, I have not tried any other modules yet as want to learn how to fly Gen 3 (?) in preparation for the F-4's release.
  11. With the arrival of the AH-64 and the upcoming OH-58,Would anyone else like to see the US Army Aviation logbook entry's updated? Most of the Army pilots are Warrant Officer as opposed to to the regular Officer ranks. If I had the skills and knowledge I would I would cobble one together myself.
  12. Just posted this in another thread,it might help. " You could also set a snap view. I customized 2 of them. One gives me a closer view of my interments ( including the VVI ) and the other is of my fuel gauges. I stole this from another post and keep a copy in my DCS Notes folder Custom Snap View(s) By pressing one of these Snap View keybinds brings you to the default Snap View that is setup for that module: in my experience these are usually less then useful, so it is worth redoing them yourself for a more pleasant experience. To alter a default Snap View first press the Snap View key that you wish to change: we are going to change the Snap View 6 (accessed by pressing Right Alt + Numpad 6) as an example. The game now remembers this as your last selected snap view, and pressing Save Cockpit Angles [default= Right Alt + Numpad 0] will bind your current view to this Snap View. " Happy Landings

  14. Thanks for figuring out a problem I didn't even know I had! I did as Aussie Pilot did above, saved it with RAlt + Num0.,works like a Champ! Added benefit, My head doesn't poke thru the canopy when I look over my left shoulder now.(TrackIR)
  15. I went looking for where you can reduce the air pressure on the brakes with no luck. In my axis menu ,when I click on axis tune , I only have the option of adjusting the X and Y saturation. where do I find that adjustment?
  16. I had started Holding the brakes and throttling up to about 2600 rpm then releasing the brakes. Going to try the stick neutral, nose down trim close to two 'ticks' tonight.
  17. I've been around a lot of Pilots. They are all extremely simple!
  18. How about a custom snap view? I used 2 on the Harrier so I could see the inside row of buttons on the MFD's. I just thought about this, looks like I'll have to set mine up tomorrow.
  19. Under kneeboard controls,my keyboard column is greyed-out and will not let me assign keys. Is there some setting I need to 'check' or 'uncheck'? I have never seen this before. FIXED! Not mentioned in today's update. I decided to take a quick look (just in case) and YES! It looks like the kneeboard is back to normal. Off to get it set up now. Thanks ED!
  20. Keeping an eye on this thread. I've never used Helios, but that might be an Idea as well.
