Set during the 'Operation Cerberus North' story-line, FIWOS will put you into the shoes of a Wild Weasel pilot with the 79th Fighter Squadron as they deploy to support the efforts of the Joint Syrian Task Force in establishing air dominance over northern Syria.
As with all campaigns by Ground Pounder Sims, this campaign will feature a custom built ATC system, a complex and engaging story, extensive campaign documentation and highly immersive mission design that will react to your approach and allow multiple ways of completing missions.
The completed campaign will also feature the 'Weasel System' - a comprehensive air defense network built into every mission, this system covers dozens of fixed and mobile SAM sites and hundreds of pieces of AAA , all tied into a reactive network that brings units online as you enter their area of responsibility. The Weasel system also includes an electronic attack capability to offer jamming support to the Weasels and many SAM sites have weaknesses built in to every mission, that can be learned and exploited.
The Weasel system will allow a blending of complex story led missions with dynamic threat behavior, and will push DCS Viper pilots to the limit as they learn to adapt, improvise and overcome in a high threat environment.

I'd say the same is true for most lighting in DCS. Fiddeling around with in cockpit zoom all of a sudden brings lights out of the gloom. While looking around using the F2 view, the same can be seen when comparing with the cockpit view.
Visible light travel a long distance and in DCS it's rendered very short.
I have something similar to bring up while we talk about view distance and that's ground objects. They all of a sudden pop in but working the camera zoom makes them visible.
I think ED need to bump up the visible view distance for lights and objects.

I reported something very similar along time ago and it's still an issue.
The AI is horribly inefficient in doing single attacks, formation attacks or anything package related (of most types, SEAD or ground attack with all types of weapons). The same is true for A2A engagements. There's no package tactics or anything in place. The "AI", follows the pattern defined in the mission editor and more or less flies right into what ever trap might lie ahead.And just to comment, the way to fix this shouldn't fall on the user (mission designers) by spending additional hours in the mission editor, detailing each and every move of the "AI". This should just work.
Things like this breaks immersion, causes a lot of frustration and unnecessary grief.
I believe ED can fix this, if prioritized.

Having to leave your hand from the stick in the middle of a tense fight just to fiddle around, under G load, trying to hit a small MFD button while you might not even have the correct page up... no way it was designed like that.
Very much hope they sort that out asap!
@NineLine Any progress on this? It's rather dangerous as it is now, fiddeling around in the MFD pages just to bring the gun up while dodging sams and not flying into the ground.

I play online twice a week with a Swedish dcs community. We have our own atc and awacs, real dude working as air traffic control in real life. It's so awesome to talk to him during taxi takeoff, tasking and landings.
Having something similar in dcs sorted by ai would be awesome.

Previously I could use NSW/Missile step button to switch between AG modes (CCIP, CCRP, .... and GUN)
This is no longer available, is there any option using hotas commands to switch to the AG gun when in AG mode without using the OSB buttons in the SMS page?Regards,

It's the same in 3440x1440, all modules. Looks awful in the AH64D. Font is all bold and thick.
Same with viper.

I'd like the option to use plan my mission with my wingman, instead of setting waypoints and weapons etc in the mission itself.
It would be so much more immersive to be able to (with a friend or several) to review the mission target, create the flightplan together, setting WPs (with TOT etc), defining the "com"-plan for the radios, selecting the weapons and fuzing, programming the DTC with a mission specific setup, reading weather reports, learning which runway to use, plan an alternate etc.
This would of course go very much in hand with a new ATC that allows packages to taxi and take-off together.
These features would add A very big missing gap to DCS COOP and MP experience.

As the title says, setting everything up in the cockpit is getting old, really fast. Would love the option to do this when I'm reviewing my mission briefing, taking notes of coms etc.

I was looking around and couldn't really find what I was looking for.
Is it possible to create a new sub category with wishlist subcategory, roadmap and other interesting details?
Would be great if we could learn some things about this new, much wanted addition.

I don't like the new IR render either, it's neigh on impossible to find any vehicles with it. Maybe realistic but it's VERY hard finding targets.

Hello,
How can I make a mission that engages the player if he crosses a border defined in the mission editor? I like to draw a line with the polygon tool and define a mission boundary of sorts, like a country border and have the red airforce engage if the player crosses into the territory.

The clouds look ok at medium range, up close they lack details and at a distance (out at the horizon) they become thin, blurry and smeared and jitterings. Looks strange.
Also, what happened with the rest of the clouds they were to add? Haven't seen anything since last years cloud announcement. Would really like if they completed it.- 3

So the new BFM AI is a good step in the right direction but seems to need more work.
It flies very wierd, with jerky nose behavior all of a sudden (watch external tracks) and it also gets stuck in a defensive climbing position, over and over, not utilizing the benefits of the model it's flying.Please see attached tracks.

After asking for a more improved AI for over a decade, I have to say I'm impressed. The only thing I'm lacking is a description from ED what has changed (bvr has been described) but not BFM AI. Can you shed some light on this?
Good job on this part of the AI. Now bring on the wingman / package and atc changes!!

Hello ED,
Each time when I add music to a mission or audio using triggers, I'm missing the option to adjust the volume of the media I use.
Is there anyway you can add a feature that allows me to control the volume? It's always too loud.Regards,

Sorry NineLine, I don't have it anymore. I converted the AI flight to "clients" and added a bunch of stuff since. I just noticed this when debugging my mission
But as Bunny Clark said, that's sorta what I was seeing too, but in my case, lead only performed the attack while 2 was just flying along doing nothing.

Well it's doesn't solve the problem really because I can't command other flights afaik.. But thanks for trying.

Why is it that my wingman doesn't land with me? He climbs away when we approach the runway. Also, the ATC is rather poor. No approach guiding, no circling or Marshall stack, no vectors from turret to runway in bad weather.
Ed, please prioritize this.
