  1. Is it possible to transfer a mark point (OFLY or DSG) to a wingman via datalink?
  2. OK, I found the issue! An earlier iteration of JF-17 allowed me to place the BRM laser-guided rockets on stations 3 and 5. I saved the mission and I'be been playing it since. It looks like now JF-17 only allows stations 2 and 6 for these rockets. Because the rockets were already there, it probably confused the internal logic...
  3. Do I need to manually set the laser code in multiplayer? If not, I have a video that shows how it works in single-player vs multiplayer for me...
  4. Fuse was set to EFUZE. I've done this before and it was working. I'm not 100% yet, but I think it only happens in multiplayer, if that makes any sense. I'll play the mission again in single-player and multiplayer to confirm.
  5. The rockets were definitely BRMs. The target was locked with point tracking, showing the rectangle over it. And the rockets still missed by A LOT. They were not even close. I'll do some more tests.
  6. Yesterday I run JF-17 after a few weeks and it looks like rockets are no longer guided? All my rockets seemed to miss the targets, despite being tracked by the WMD7 pod. Was there any change?
  7. Hi, I am learning the mission editor and I'm trying to have a ground unit as JTAC. I set one up as per youtube tutorials, see image attached. It has line of sight, etc. But while in F-18, using easy comms, the JTAC option is greyed out. I can still broadcast a Check In message, but I never get a reply. What I am doing wrong?
  8. I'm playing DCS with my son in multiplayer. I set up my computer as a private server and we both connect. The mission plays our fine, but the auto-saved track does not contain my plane at all! It simply doesn't exist. This happens in DCS 2.5.5 Open Beta. Not sure about older versions. EDIT: replaced 5.5 with 2.5.5
  9. Well, I tried not touching anything, not changing the playback speed, etc., and it still happens. I checked the original vs. playback in TacView. In some cases I had multiple targets selected and in the replay all missiles were launched at the same target instead on separate ones.
  10. Well, I'm no fighter pilot and I only used Oculus with P-51, but as I said, I could better judge distances and speed. Feeling the proper landing attitude for example was easier. Also, I loved flying really low and around the tall buildings of Tiblisi, something that was much harder with screen only. I will play again with Oculus with the F-15C. I don't use Oculus all the time because I find it tiresome for the eyes and it also screws with your sense of equilibrium (when you do a barrel roll for example, you get conflicting sensations and it's nauseating).
  11. I doubt it's a hard scaling problem and more of a perception issue. DCS is not a simple game that "cheats" the visuals. The map and the objects are built to scale. The size of the trees can be debated, but that's about it. I found that using an Oculus greatly changes the altitude and scale perception. I first noticed it in a game you may know, Elite Dangerous. It's got huge spaceships and stations and I always found them too small on screen. Once I tried VR, the true sense of scale was incredible, overwhelming. I had the same experience with DCS. I always struggled to land the P-51 smoothly. Once I tried the Oculus, I could judge speed and altitude much better. Oculus and Vive are still not great though and I don't use it that much. The resolution is not there, making text hard to read, the FOV is still not enough, but the perception of size is vastly different.
  12. The Replay Tracks are a mess and everyone knows it. In my case, I was quite proud of my performance in Bear Trap campaign mission 6 and I wanted to make a video from replay. In the original play, I fired 2 AMRAAMs at 2 SU27s. Both hit and I could proceed with the mission. This is also clear in the saved TacView track. Upon replay, one of the missiles misses and the mission goes astray, the surviving SU27 making a turn and killing me one minute later. So I strongly think that in the long term DCS should migrate from the current track system. Short term, simple sanity checks should be added. Apart from inputs, the track should save major events that occured - object destruction being the most obvious. The record would mark that at 05:06:07.890 aircraft#1 is hit by missile#2. In replay, even if something goes wrong and the missile misses, the event should still occur. Ideally, simple (x,y,z) coordinates should be added as well for all objects at some time intervals (every x seconds) and the calculated positions from saved inputs should be checked against saved coordinates and adjusted if needed. This would fix the crashing bugs some players are experiencing. Medium term, a separate TacView-like track should be recorded with more info for each aircraft. Long term, hopefully, a balance could be found between the 2 methods, something that would work for the game's architecture but would also allow for the track to be played back and forth.
