  1. Purchased. Great work as always from the Heatblur team. Your hard work is thoroughly appreciated lads. A new standard has been set.
  2. Quality of the hmd and poor anti aliasing. Currently running a Reveb G1 with a 4090. I run without msaa and am happy with the resolution (above the res of the G1) and 90fps, but we need DLSS / proper AA. New hmds with better panels will bring the increased quality to match monitors. Still I can only fly in VR and will never return to pancake mode, no comparison. If VR stopped being supported in DCS I'd never fly again despite spending a considerable sum on a simpit, perpherals and probably the best PC build that can be built atm. I may go the quest pro route or wait for the new valve hmd.
  3. While expensive it will be more proof of concept for tech that will become cheaper and more available in the future to the benefit of VR gaming and sims. Personally I'll be likely looking at the possibility of replacing my G1 with the Quest 3 with it's pancake lens and better panels, later in the year. I've spent a few quid building a new 7800X3d, 64gb system, with a 4090 due in the next week or so to replace my old 2080. If the new Index replacement surfaces with eye tracking I'll switch to that.

  5. Ordered the Jetpad FSE last week from Andre at https://andres-shop.simshaker.com/, and it`s on the way. Drop him an email if you have any questions, he replies quiet quickly.
  6. I have the Thrustmaster TPR pedals, no complaints and very natural in their movement. Also there are a number of mods that can be done including a hydraulic damper for little to no money. Great for helicopters such as the huey, Mi-8 and upcoming hind as you can disconnect the springs for no resistance. http://mobile.thrustmaster.com/node/8207
  7. If ED released a modern F-4 It would be a definite purchase on my part, plus I`d be willing to give an extra 10-15 euro down the line for the Vietnam variant if it was offered as an addition at a later date. Full price for the second variant would be too much imo. A similar proposition to the A10C upgrade would be a good option.
  8. Picked one up this morning. Had been pondering getting the stick since the start of the sale. The Harrier and Hornet are my most used modules of the DCS fixed wing line up. With the Mudhen on the horizon it was time to pick it up. Danger now is the RealSimulator base will be a temptation for the F16.
  9. The Hornet, it's an outstanding module and can be devastating in all its roles.
  10. I believe ED said recently the they hope that in the future you will be able to do an actual walkaround check on the aircraft prior to flight. I'm open to correction on that but maybe in the next decade, who knows. I'm sure they'll have F10 menu skip option.
  11. Haven't looked into it much tbh, as I am lucky to get enough time to run a few missions. But in relation to such things I'd expect dcs to follow the correct procedures as much as possible. It's something I'll look into for my own curiosity.
  12. The Jeff can be done via the comms on the ground as well last time I checked. So dcs are giving us a free pass on the in-flight code input. Seems crazy that a complex modern aircraft cannot programme the ordnance on the fly.
  13. Haven't flown the Viper since the last update but the Hornet and Harrier with it's new laser guided rockets are as before, no issues. The Mirage is the only one I have to set in the mission editor before the mission. Look at Chuck's guides for your aircraft. The Viper is still early in the dev process. I've left it down as systems are changing with updates.
  14. The Harrier and F-18/16 can be set on the fly. ..and the A10C, JF-17. What is the issue exactly?
  15. I have the deltasim upgrade. Not cheap but worth it.
  16. Syria map, as you can use all your current assets on it giving you another sandbox to utilise. ....... and its superior to the PG map in the eye candy department, plus its very extensive and will be expanded to include Cyprus et al. A no brainer at the price. Get both if you can stretch of course.
  17. Anyone have any good news on the VR front. Any fps increases, optimisation that can dig us out of VR purgatory.
  18. To be honest anyone using a 250gb SSD for DCS has been on borrowed time for a while. The 500gb is a minimum. The next pc build I do will have a 1tb Nvme drive dedicated for DCS. SSD's don't operate at their best when much more than half full. That's just the nature of the beast.
  19. I have the full deck of modules, I also have all the IL2 GB stuff which just had an update. So it's WW2 tonight.
  20. 55g at 1.5mb/s. I hope it's worth it.
  21. Great jobs lads, day 1 buy for me. Can't wait.
  22. VR needs near double the horses than the pancake version. But VR is just on another level of immersion, you are in the cockpit flying the aircraft looking out at the world through your canopy. A flat screen is a non runner imo.
  23. Wait a month or so and make an informed decision. Crazy not to wait with so much new hardware on the horizon.
  24. Have a look, seems a fair bit is in the works.
  25. Best advice at this stage is wait and see what AMD brings to the table. Upgrading your CPU will bring a very limited return due to ED`s poor optimization. I`m still rocking a 4790k @4.7ghz along with a 2080. I may upgrade the GPU depending on what AMD launch. A 3080 20gb is likely inbound as well, so patience is a virtue here. I think the time for new build/upgrade will be 2021, early 2022. AMD will have the new upgrade cycle AM5 socket with ZEN 4, DDR5 @8400mhz and PCIe 5.0. That setup along with the new drives and tech will be on another level to what we have now. Hopefully DCS 3.0 will be out by then, optimized to take advantage of what's in the pipeline. If ED still haven`t cracked the performance nut by then, then you can forget about DCS as they will not be able to compete with the competition. Nature abhors a vacuum and ED really have to make their engine fit for purpose for the modern era or else they will be left behind.
